A to Z autosports Reviews (4)

I stopped into this dealership yesterday and everyone was very nice and kind with me. I have never had that sense of value at any other car dealer. Abe is great. He is basically in my opinion everything America is about. He is a small business guy, working hard to provide a top quality product and service in a big car market here in Madison. I know he trys his very best to make all of his customers happy. I really believe in a world of percentages, the majority of visitors to A to Z Autosport will have a great and memorable experience to share with friends, family, coworkers and social media. I recommend everyone looking for a top quality car or truck to stop in and see Abe.

I bought a used vehicle from this business. Not 30 days later, I was left stranded on the side of the road with a messed up transmission. I called the owner, [redacted], at about noon on a Friday (he had just woken up...it's NOON!!) and he refused to do anything except offer a "discounted" rate to install a used transmission. I told him I would be interested to hear his estimate and he said he would call me back later that day. I never heard back from him. I understand that he is not legally obligated to do anything as the car was sold 'as is', but I feel he should have offered to install the transmission for free and only charged me for the part as I had purchased the vehicle from him less than 30 days ago. It would have shown great customer service and I would have been telling everyone what a great dealership this is instead of telling everyone what a shabby dealership it is. Also, he could have AT LEAST called me back with the estimate.

Review: Check engine light came on the 3rd day I owned the car. I had the engine scanned by 2 mechanics and a [redacted] Dealership in [redacted]. They all told me it was the catalytic converter. Since I only owned the car 3 days the [redacted] dealership said there was a very good chance the owner of A to Z knew about the catalytic converter failing/failed. Both mechanics told us the same. They told me that he probably set the computer to shut off the check engine light and that it would stay off for between 12-15 key cycles (ignition starts). I strongly suspect [redacted] knew about the problem with it and hoped it would be off his lot before the light came back on. When I went to the car lot to discuss the problem [redacted] (the owner) became verbally abusive and starting screaming profanities and calling me a "stupid *Word Rejected*He was in my face screaming and demandin we leave the lot. I have 2 witnesses. I called my father and he could hear [redacted] screaming at me and using abusive language. He then told us to leave the lot and we tried but he positioned himself in between my open car door and continued to scream profanities and continuing to tell us to get off the lot but we couldn't without knocking him over. He then called the police. The police told us to take him to court and it would be best if we all just left.Desired Settlement: First apologise to me for the outrageous way he treated us. Telling me I am a stupid *Word Rejected*is not a way to resolve things. Second. fix the catalytic converter that he knew was failing

Response:

This letter is to address the complaint filed to the Revdex.com by [redacted].

Miss [redacted]’s allegations are completely false and deplorable. We are a reputable business and have sold over 600 cars. If we treated customers in this fashion, we would not be in business. We were confronted by her and her 2 male friends with accusation/anger and lies about a light that we had absolutely nothing to do with. I tried to deal with them normally but the accusation/confrontation would not stop. They would not even leave my office, so I was forced to call the police for help from here and her 2 male friends.

First and foremost-before [redacted] purchased this car she had an INDEPENDENT inspection performed on the vehicle by her mechanic. This is documented by the Wisconsin buyers guide and signed by [redacted], which I can forward to the Revdex.com if you would like. It even states in the Wisconsin buyer’s guide that she signed, any future maintenance is her responsibility. [redacted] took the car from our lot to her OWN mechanic to make sure she wanted to buy this car. This mechanic, as ours did, confirmed the Buyers Guide inspections was correct and that this Lexus was fine. The catalytic converter was NOT failing when she purchased this vehicle-and we DID NOT shut off ANY lights in the vehicle. Our inspection showed it to be fine. In fact, the INDEPENDENT inspection she had done by her mechanic found it to be fine too. She brought it to us almost 2 month later, saying her catalytic converter is failing. She stated to the Revdex.com that she brought it on the 5th of August which is a complete lie. We have the police report to verify to that she came to us almost 2 month later. When a catalytic converter fails, the vehicle looses most of its power, and you can’t drive it much. I explained that to her, and she stated again that the person at Autozone scanned it ( not 3 or 4 mechanics like she claims), and told them it is a catalytic code ( which does not mean the catalytic failed, it could be as simple as an exhaust leak, or even the O2 sesnor inside the catalytic). Then she stated that the catalytic has not failed but is at 80% life, and she wants us to pay for a new one. I told her we can not change items that are 70% or 80% with new, no one does. Not even when they sell a car , let alone almost 2 month later, and after she already had it inspected and it was fine.

Here are the facts. [redacted] came a to our lot with her concerns-it was THE FIRST time she had contacted us-not 3 days after she bought it-not a week, not a month-but almost 2 month after the purchase ( I have a police report to verify the date) [redacted] was confrontational with her two male friends, rude and aggressive. I did not try to block her from leaving. I actually wanted them to leave so I called the police because of their profanity and their behavior, specially the accusation by her boyfriend and his friend. I told them to leave, and the only thing they did, was to quickly go hide the other car of her boyfriend/his friend a block away, before the police officer came. (VERY suspicious).

Dear Revdex.com, she bought a used car almost 2 month ago, AS-IS, because it is not new. We had our mechanic inspect the car, there was no lights on or a failed catalytic converter. The car ran great. She had it taken to her own mechanic for inspection and he confirmed our inspection. It is documented in the Wisconsin buyers guide that she took it to her own mechanic , she is responsible for future maintenance because it is her car not ours, and she signed the buyers guide. She completely lied to the Revdex.com that she brought the car 3 days later per the report. I did not see the car until she and her two male friends confronted me about how the autozone person just told them it has catalytic code almost 2 month later, not 3 days later like she lied to the Revdex.com.

I ask the Revdex.com to dismiss this complaint because of false allegation. We had nothing to do with with a light coming on. It is a used car, sold as-is almost 2 month ago. she tested the car, she drove the car, it drove great. She had it inspected by the buyers own mechanic, and the buyer signed an agreement since the car was inspected by the mechanic any future maintenance should be done by the owner. (Documented and signed by the buyer). She also completely lied to the Revdex.com about exactly what happened, about the date she brought to us, and any documentation she signed. I ask that you dismiss the complaint based on evidence. I would gladly provide any documentation to the Revdex.com.

Thank you
