A To Z Handyman Services

LONG REVIEW BUT PLEASE READ*** Wish I could give negative stars.
At the end of May my husband & I hired Michael M with A to Z Handyman Services LLC to replace our siding & gutters, add onto the soffit in the back of the house, add a porch on the front of the house and steps on the back of our house off our sliding door. This contractor lives right in our Neighborhood....in our heads we were helping out a local business who was a part of our neighborhood that we love so much....during a global pandemic, win-win right? FALSE!! We paid said contractor for materials up front (we were given a discount for cash payment). From the start it was a daily hassle & chore to try to figure out if this guy was going to show up....there were always excuses after excuses followed by empty promises. We heard “I’ll be there 100% tomorrow” literally every day. Finally we stared seeing some results towards the end of June. At that point we were asked for a down payment towards the labor so this contractor could make payroll and continue to work on our house....since we were seeing results we agreed. Then a wrench was thrown into the mix, the siding materials (that we paid for/ordered on our own through ***) were incorrect....we were missing J Chanel (this error was ***’s fault)....with this siding being a special order there was a delay on getting the correct siding materials. However, this delay had nothing to do with the remaining projects at our home. Said contractor agreed to still come and work on the other projects if we made another payment towards the labor cost to cover payroll etc....in good faith and since we were seeing progress we agreed. Between the end of June and mid July he maybe showed up a handful of times. We were unhappy with the lack of progress and all of the excuses and started to wonder where the rest of our paid materials were. It was always “we can’t do anything until the correct siding materials arrive” In addition, our gutters were ripped off our house prior to realizing that we didn’t have the appropriate siding materials (again this was ***’s error, but also negligence on the contractor) so now there is water damage in our guest room. We are now out a significant amount of money that we have paid towards materials & labor for jobs that are not done. We now have to take time away from our family to work even harder than what we already do to make up what was stolen from us. We have had 2 other contractors take a look so far and everything has to be torn down and started over. As you can imagine hearing this was a kick to the stomach. We are hard working parents of 2 beautiful little girls and we are just trying to provide them with the beautiful home they deserve and we were totally taken advantage of. We are beyond embarrassed with the state that our house is in. With that said I am determined to make sure this does not happen to another family.

contractor did work finishing basement. they unplugged my sump pump to plug in their tools the basement flooded. their is carpet under new floor that will never dry and will become moldy
