robert built us a new bathroom,he built us a new laundry room,he put a new roof on our home, great job by robert

Complaint: 12097910
To the Attention of the Revdex.com
I am rejecting this response because:
Mr. [redacted] did not address the issues I specified in my complaint regarding the problems that have been identified by an outside Home Inspector with the roof, window and...

doors, floor, walls, plumbing, HVAC/ductwork, and water leaks in crawl space.
In fact, Mr. [redacted] tried to justify the poor quality of his work by shifting blame to me. Mr. [redacted] failed to note that he had to lay the tile floor 3 times and had agreed to take it up and have it laid a 4th time by an outside contractor because he and his wife could not get the tile laid appropriately. Mrs. [redacted] acknowledged with the outside floor installer that they would cover the costs involved with taking the floor up a 4th time and having the outside installer relay the floor. The outside installer noted the poor quality of the installation that Mr. [redacted] performed and that the floor is not level and poorly laid. Mr. [redacted] is incorrect with regard to changing dates for the floor re-installation. I had requested the contract to be revised to reflect who would be responsible for paying for the floor to be relayed. When he finally revised the contract, he was going to refund me the cost of the original floor installation that he charged me and wanted me to cover the expense for all of the floor tile that would be destroyed when the floor is removed and that I would be responsible for paying the outside floor installer to have the floor relayed even though he and his wife had agreed to pay for the floor to be relayed. When I refused to sign this addendum to the contract which identified a number of other issues that were concerning to me, Mr. [redacted] made the decision to terminate the contract even though he was still owed money. He terminated the contract with unfinished work on the project. Mr. [redacted] failed to mention that he started the project in June of 2016 and that he was still performing work in November, 2016. The original contract stated the project would take 30 to 45 days.
The water line was not an add-on. It was noted in the original discussions that there was a outside water faucet that would need to be re-routed to the new outside wall. Mr. [redacted] is now claiming that to be an add-on. What he failed to mention is that he did this work and did not have a plumbing consult to do this. He connected a garden hose connector to the water faucet and ran it under the room to the new outdoor water faucet. He turn the spigot on and it is leaking under the new room addition as well as the new outdoor faucet.
As for the window that Mr. [redacted] installed. He is correct that he had his sales rep "friend" come and try to rectify the ill fitting window screens and the windows that did not close properly. The sales rep did replace the window screens 3 times and still was not able to make them fit properly. The sales rep contacted the window company directly to address the ill-fitting window screens and also the window sashes that do not fit properly. The window company sent a tech directly from the company to assess the windows and have determined that it is an installation problem and not a problem with the windows and screens. They will not cover any warranty work because the window is not installed properly. They have sent me notification that I must go back to the installer for proper installation.
There are a number of issues that have been identified by numerous consults that I have had performed to assess correction of the current problems that were created by Mr. [redacted]. None of which he addressed in his response. I anticipate costs of repair to exceed the costs of the original costs to have the room built which is what I explained in my original complaint. Mr. [redacted] does not seem concerned with addressing the true issues that still exist as a result of his "40 years of experience".

[redacted], dba A to Z Home Improvement, [redacted]). BEWARE - his ethics and workmanship is very inferior, substandard and of extremely poor quality based upon my experience with him doing a new bathroom tile shower stall and floor. It's very obvious he is not qualified to do tile work which I had confirmed by other contractors who later inspected his work. I would also question his basic home repair capabilities including things like caulking and resetting a toilet. The tile grouting was extremely poor and exhibited numerous cracks including areas of missing grout or voids. There were also several pieces of floor tile that had been cracked during installation and numerous areas where the tile was cut so much it was very obvious they did not fit the area where they were installed. It was also obvious that he did not establish a true starting point before tiling because the tile is very mismatched in many areas including various grout width lines and did not figure out the layout of the tile scheme by measuring all areas to be tiled as well as the tiles or at least make a diagram of each wall to help decide placement of tiles. Unfortunately, I was not present when the work was being done and only later did the nightmare begin. The linoleum flooring was replaced with tile and exhibited the same substandard workmanship as the shower stall. After he re-seated the toilet, it was not securely bolted to the floor and moved side to side and swiveled on the floor. He did not allow for the bolt dimension change from linoleum to tile. The toilet was also missing the caulking around the bottom. I later had the toilet situation repaired at an additional cost to me. There were also numerous areas around the shower door that were void of caulking that caused water leakage on the floor. Also the caulking around the shower door was extremely poor, uneven, wrong color and very disappointing to look at. Grouting/calking was entirely missing around the newly installed soap dish and the wall tile was cracked from the soap dish installation. He also left parts out of the installation of a shower head and valve which he later said were not needed. But after calling the manufacturer, they said the parts were very critical and are required to prevent children and elderly persons from adjusting the hot/cold valve beyond the critical hot position which would cause scalding. Because of that information, I had the shower valve fixed correctly at an additional cost to me. I have to honestly say that I highly question [redacted]'s ability to do any type of work of this nature. This experience for me was a nightmare. The shower now leaks because the lack of and cracking tile grout, caulking, cracked tile which has created a situation that will cost me a substantial amount of money to make right. When asked about all the issues, and requesting to make things right, he replied "I have a life too" in addition to making numerous promises that he never honored. Based upon what he had done, I would not trust him to attempt to fix his work including fear that other problems would arise. At this point, I would only accept reimbursement of the monies so I can have the job done right which he refused. Quotations to redo the job average $4,000. To document his inferior work I filed a complaint with [redacted]) and they performed an inspection and the final report results were to replace the entire job. He also did not obtain a needed building permit for the drain which he later lied about. The complaint with [redacted] also resulted in his license (No. [redacted]) being suspended for not meeting numerous regulations and for poor workmanship. A licensed contractor told me that the shower dam was also not done correctly and the entire shower may have to be re-done to make things right (that just made me sick). He also said that the grout areas may eventually cave in causing additional problems which also confirmed what the [redacted] Inspection revealed. I have numerous photographs to document [redacted]'s work and continue to pursue this matter. BEWARE BEWARE of this so called licensed contractor.

Review: A-Z Home Improvement Company aluminum sided my house around 15 years ago - the side of my home is starting to buckle and the seams are spreading apart. The corners of the window seams are also loosening. The siding around one window on the top floor has come apart from the home. I had a contractor come and look at my house and he explained that the nails that were used were not long enough and stated other problems that they did.Desired Settlement: I would like the business owner or whoever is in charge to rectify the situation and fix the entire side of my home - the siding should not be loose and falling down
