A to Z Moving and Storage: The most professional of companies.
As a Federal Employee for over a 30 year career, I was required to move eight times, including two overseas moves. Each of those moves, paid by the government were contracted with big name international moving companies, [redacted], [redacted], [redacted] and [redacted]. With every move, there were situations that arose that were not only unpleasant, but, disappointing at best. Fortunately, the government was responsible and those issues were generally satisfied.
After retiring, I needed one last move from the Springfield, Mass area to Saratoga Springs, NY. This move, was totally on me, and my search for a moving company included all the above [redacted] whom, I have dealt with previously. I was astonished at the estimated price of storing my furniture and moving me 100 miles west. Then, Mr. Robert Zeller of A to Z movers visited my home and provided an estimate. A to Z movers, a local moving company sends the owner, Mr. Zeller to provide the estimate. I immediately established a rapport with Mr. Zeller who was most professional and assured me that his company was the best option for my move. The estimate was most fair and below the national companies and he actually worked with me on the storage fee which benefited my situation greatly.
On moving day, the crew of 4 were polite, caring and professional. My four bedroom home was emptied and on the truck within 5 hours. The packing was magnificent. So off went my life long goods, in the hands of A to Z for three months. When it came time for A to Z to deliver, two trucks pulled up at 8 am and the unloading was completed in a matter of 5 hours again. No breakage, no scratches no issues. The same crew requested arrived, unloaded and did those little extras that make a most difficult time easier. This was a most pleasurable experience, one, that previously had been a nightmare. Make no mistake about it, moving is a very stressful situation usually strife in issues and problems. This move was absent of all those and from the owner Robert Zeller to the dispatcher and the four young men who broke their backs taking care of my most cherishes items, they all made my life so much easier.
So, to all of you who are faced with an upcoming move of your family and household goods, understand, that a small family owned business like A to Z Movers not only provides the best financial option, but, you deal with the owner of the company who, provides honesty, professionalism and that comfortable feeling that the big four (international companies) will never provide. My decision to contract with A to Z was a great decision, both financially and trusting. No middlemen, no salesmen, you deal directly with Robert Zeller, the owner, face and reputation of this most impressive small business available to all.

I cannot thank A to Z Moving + Storage enough for the AWESOME job they did moving my parents. Everyone involved in the move was super professional, incredibly sweet (totally understanding moving is a highly-stressful time), incredibly helpful (going above and beyond in packing) and simply made the move smooth and easy. We HIGHLY recommend A to Z for anyone moving in the Western Mass/CT area. Thank you again for everything!!

A to Z moved my home on June 25, 2013. An XBox etc. was "left behind." I had them write it, noted, on the final paperwork. XBox never found.I have used A to Z for several moves prior to this one as I know the [redacted] and never had any problem before. The move went well, I provided lunch for the crew, and due to the heat that day, continued to offer the three men water/drinks. Two of my 3 kids came over to set up their rooms and my 16 1/2 yr old son noticed his XBox wasn't in any of the boxes marked for his room. At the conclusion of the move I asked one of the crew members about it and a different man recalled leaving it in the original box sitting on top of some built in drawers in my son's room at the previous address. I was unhappy about it and asked him to make a note on the final paperwork stating it had been left behind so it was in writing. He chuckled and thought I was kidding when I told him I was serious. My new home had my immediate and extended family members present and the kitchen, where we settled the bill, is open on two sides which provides very little privacy so a few of them did hear me ask for the notation that it was left behind. He agreed and made the notation in front of me. As stated before, it was an extremely hot day, the move took almost twice the time it should have, and although I tipped each of them $75, I didn't ask nor did they volunteer to go across town to retrieve the XBox which had a $60 game in it as well as a second controller. I myself and a friend went back to the house to get it and anything else that may have been left behind. XBox wasn't there. At this time I hadn't called [redacted] ([redacted], [redacted] because I wanted the chance to open boxes and make sure it wasn't put in one of them by mistake. Three adults searched through ALL of the boxes and they too were given keys to go and look through the home I left empty. At that point I phoned [redacted], whose cell phone number I have. When I spoke with him and told him quickly what happened, he suddenly needed to get off the phone to take care of something. He returned my call the next day and I now was angry. I told [redacted] that I'd spent days going through boxes and checking the empty house for the gaming system and it had just "vanished." I was told that the crew had been with him 6 years and that his business was built on reputation. I did remind him that 1 of the crew members was new. The man who was on my moving crew was yelling in the background where it was left like I was a child whom didn't listen clearly. [redacted] continued to let him rant. There was no yelling or anything of the sort between [redacted] and myself. I let him know that I was so confident about our search that I had gone out and replaced my son's gaming system myself at the price tag of approximately $350.00. He ([redacted]) stated that when I found it amongst my boxes that I could return the new gaming system. I told him I had no intention of badmouthing or slandering his business, as I am well connected in his community, but I felt he needed to take some responsibility here. I paid $1,300.00 for the move, have given him many many references throughout the last 15 years and was sorely disappointed that he offered me no reimbursement for the gaming system that just seem to have disappeared into thin air. All of my boxes are unpacked and I am settled with my kids in my new home. I felt that for myself and my children, that this is a strong lesson in feeling like something needs to be said appropriately and directed through the right channels to let dissatisfaction be known and recognized. This unfortunately became an issue of me vs. them and I strongly feel that I should be completely reimbursed. I would expect A to Z would have insurance for situations like this. I certainly hope that his reputation continues to do well especially when he takes the word of his employees of 6 years versus a good customer and member of the community of many more years than that.Desired SettlementAs stated in the previous paragraph, I would like a refund for $350.00 for the XBox, Call of Duty Black Opps 2, and an additional game controller.Business' Initial Response Were a moving and storage company. There was an issue with an Xbox that left on a shelf in the closet in kid's room. When we left the house the house was unlock. It may have been removed by someone else. I have contacted the consumer and we are the process of resolving this issue with the consumer. Consumer's Final Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)[redacted] from A to Z did leave me a message in the last several days. As soon as I retrieved it from my answering machine I called his on call service and told them that I was away and that I would call him back when I returned. In addition, I told the woman who took the message that it was very important to let him know that I was still away. Firstly, yes, we were all aware that the XBox was left behind at the previous property. I was told it was in my son's room, on the built in desk and drawers that were on one side of his room. The said closet that it was left in had no shelf or shelves in it, it didn't even have a rod to hold hanging clothes. Both closets in his room were exactly like that. The men that did the move worked a long, hard day. I did not want to be assertive with them and insist to them that we go back to the old property to get the XBox etc. that was left behind. In fact, when I went to write the check, and he reviewed the bill with me, I asked him to write on the receipt that this item was left behind. At first he chuckled, and I then said, "I'm not kidding." So, I took their word for it. Lastly, the door was locked when I left the house that day. I was responsible for the home until June 30, 2013. The move date was June 25, 2013. Not only that, but also the house needed to be cleaned from top to bottom, and just in case something did get left behind, I knew it would be safe until I got there. As I looked at the response above, it says, "When we left the house the house was unlock." The last line in the response says, "I have contacted..." [redacted] the [redacted] contacted me yes, but the statement above indicates he was present the day of the move and he most certainly was not there. There was no need for this report to have happened if when [redacted] and I first spoke we came to a resolution.
