A To Z Rental

Review: We rented a PA sound system, 2 speakers & a microphone from A to Z Rentals on August 17th, 2012. At that same time, we also purchased their Rental Protection Plan which they referred to as `Rental Insurance` when speaking with us over the phone and in-person when we were picking up the equipment. The equipment we received was worn out with what the company referred to as `regular wear and tear`. In addition, when it was set up, the speakers were fuzzy, crackly, and did not work as promised by the company. We were completely dissatisfied with the quality of the equipment that we had rented.Upon returning the equipment back to A to Z Rentals, we advised them of the poor sound quality of the equipment but were told that it was because we had probably used the equipment improperly and that the poor sound quality was our own fault. (Note: we had an industry professional who works with this kind of equipment on a regular basis operating the rental equipment all evening).In addition, A to Z Rentals accused us of damaging their equipment - pointing out the `regular wear and tear`that was present when we picked up the equipment originally and claimed that we had created the damage ourselves thereby voiding their `insurance policy` which they had told us was supposed to protect us against any damage. We were charged an additional $40 for the damage that we had not caused.Finally they accused us of not returning one of their special `A to Z Rental Bags` that they allegedly send out all their equipment in. In actuality, they had put the equipment in a nylon grocery bag that belonged to a random grocery store - not A to Z Rentals. The bag could not have cost more that $1 but we were charged $20 to replace it.We have come to believe that we have been completely scammed by this company but have few options for recourse. We are hoping that the Revdex.com can look into the situation and help us find some resolution.Desired Settlement: We would be more than happy to be refunded for all charges from this company but in addition to that, we would like to know that they will no longer be able to take advantage of any more unsuspecting customers going forward. We would like the company to recognize that they have a responsibility to their customers and owe them a duty of honesty in all business practices.

Terrible experience from start to finish. A to Z rentals gave us equipment that did not work properly and then, even though we had purchased the rental insurance, they refused to acknowledge that their equipment did not work as promised and accused us of breaking it in our care which thereby somehow voided their insurance policy. They even charged us extra on top of our rental fee for the alleged damage they say we caused but was already apparent when we rented the equipment. On top of that. They accused us of not returning one of their special rental bags which was actually a nylon grocery bag - not an A-Z Rentals bag. We were charged an additional $20 for not returning the grocery back that was not even theirs. We were completely taken advantage of by this awful company and our hope is that by letting as many people know about our experience as possible, people will know not to use this company and no one else will have to go through the same experience as us.
