Review: we had hired this company to apply asphalt paving to our driveway on 07/11/14. The contractor Steve B[redacted] agree and signed to the contract for $1300.00. On 07/11/14 Friday we gave a deposit of $400.00 he stated "to give $400.00 then halfway through the job another payment and at completion the balance". His workers came out and dug out the sides of my drivway and broke up some of the driveway to prepare for paving. They also stake out our driveway. We were not contacted again until Sunday 07/13/14 he came to our house with out notice telling us what he would do to our driveway.He also stated he would call before he came out to preform the job.On Wednesday 07/16/14 I received a call at 8:01am on my cell he wanted another $400.00 and that he was at my home and no one was there. I explained that we are at work and he came unannounce to our home demanding to have another $400.00 before he did the job. "I said I will not give him another penny until he starts the job today 07/16/14 and I will go to the bank and have the money at the end of the day 07/16/14". He disagree and refused to finsh the job and return the money $400.00 deposit and broke the contract that he signed. He breach the contract.Desired Settlement: I want the job completed at the amount he signed the contract for $1300.00. The contract states To trim and straighten drivway edges.Dig out the necessary old asphalt in order to knit in properly with new asphalt.Install approximately 205 inches of an ID-2 blend of Hot Asphalt over existing driveway then compress.He agree to give a 3 year guarantee.
