[redacted] hired our company to provide her with help to move. We agreed that we would provide two people to help with the moving. Unfortunately, an something came up at the job I was working on and I began to realize that I was not going to make it to the next job site on time. At this point I started...

calling my staff to see who I could get to the job site the fastest. At this point [redacted] (another worker of mine) was just getting to the job site and starting work. [redacted] and I had been in communication all day and all the night previous, so the notion that he had no idea where I was is completely bogus. [redacted] was very much aware of where I was as I had mentioned about every half hour what I was doing. [redacted] states that she called me and asked where I was and that I hung up on her, or that is what she said to her daughter now its a different story here. I never spoke to [redacted] except through email and 2 texts. Someone did leave a voicemail on my phone but there was nothing but wind the entire message. I sent another worker of mine [redacted], to the Burlington location. He got there at 12:15 and there was no one at the location. I sent him as he was closer than I was (still stuck in New York). [redacted] called me in a panic because no one was there and he didn't know what to do. I called [redacted] who advised me that they had already left for the new place, and that the customer "didn't want our help any more and refuse to pay for the labor rendered". At this point I told [redacted] to just come back to the office and I would try to get ahold of one of the customers. I was going to offer them a discount for the fact that we didn't get the second guy there in time, however the customer decided that instead of working with me they would take matters into their own hands. I tried getting in contact with [redacted] at the end of the project who stated that she's not paying the company at all for the work we provided. At this point I notified her that this is theft of services. She still has an outstanding balance of $86.50. $138.00 was a deposit which will not be returned as I had to pay my worker $20 an hour plus travel so already I'm in the hole on this job. 5 hours of work at $20 an hour = $100. Travel on a tank of gas from where he lives is $30 = $138.00 I am not refunding what I had to pay this young man. I would have worked with [redacted] and figured something out for the balance but she refuses to work with me. I am at a loss and will fight if needed. I need to be able to pay [redacted] and it is not his fault she wants to complain about something she hasn't even paid in full yet.
