A United Home Improvement Reviews (1)
In July 2005 we had a 35-year warranty shingle roof installed by United Home Improvement Co. It included removal of all roofing from the house and garage, as well as new plywood put on the entire house roof.
In January 2008 the roof sustained wind damage. This was repaired by United Home Improvement.
Then again in February 2012 we again sustained wind damage. This was also repaired by United Home Improvement. When talking then with the owner of United Home Improvement, he mentioned that he had been advised the shingles were defective and we need to file a claim for all repairs. He said he would get us ALL the information we would need to file a claim, but as of July 2013 we still have not received this information.
When the roofing work was being done, I salvaged some paper I believe was used to wrap and protect the shingles. From this salvaged paper I found a phone number (###-###-####) which I dialed and reached somebody who advised me that the company was EMCO and/or Building Products Corp., or appeared to be known as BP, and that they/she was located in Montreal, Canada. I learned that we needed a document from United Home Improvement, on their letterhead, current date, which stated the shingle product number and color -- we still have not received this letter even though it's been over a month.
In January 2013, we sustained more wind damage which also left an area of bare wood near the peak of the roof -- this has not yet been repaired even after repeated phone calls to United Home Improvement, during which we have been told that they "will be out in a couple of days", or that they will be "working in the area next week" but it is now JULY and the repair has not been made and we are now noticing water stains on the ceiling of a second floor bedroom. We are highly dissatisfied with the way we have been treated by this company and would never recommend them to anyone.
