Review: Owner failed to properly diagnose computer problem, and failed to perform any work on laptop, yet still charged me the minimum $60 fee.

The owner was extremely rude and profane with me, basically did nothing to fix my laptop, and still charged me $60 for bringing it in.

My laptop was emitting a 4-beed code error - an indication of a memory issue. I brought it in to be diagnosed, stating I had it covered under a Personal Articles policy and that I would submit it to the insurance company. I brought in the laptop and a spare charger as he requested me to do. [redacted], the owner, charged my laptop and said he wasn't able to get it to duplicate the sound and immediately brushed it off as my charger as the problem because it was after market. I told him I use the OEM charger for it at home. He said he would leave it on the charger and see what would happen. I called him later and he said it was not making any beeping noise.

Next morning I picked up the laptop and he handed me an invoice for $60 stating it was a bad charger. Very calmly, I told him I didn't agree with being charged $60 for simply charging my laptop. He became hostile and irate, grabbing the laptop off the counter over his head and told me in a profane manner that I wasn't going to get my laptop until I paid him. I explained that I was planning on paying, but I wanted him to know that I disagreed with it. As I handed him my business debit card, he told me no way, that I had to pay cash as he proceeded to yell at me, intimidating me with profane language.

As I returned with the cash he continued to be hostile and aggressive, picking an argument with me. Even worst, he accused me of lying to him and asking him to lie for me, and committing insurance fraud! I was appauled to say the least. I turned on the laptop to check it, but immediately left because I was so shaken up.

When I got home it was still making the same beeping noise. I called back to let him know and he still continued on his rants, saying he had me on tape and video.

Come to find out, he did the same exact thing to a friend of mine.

I believe he is fraudulent in his practices. At the very least incompetent and thinking he can pull a fast one over on his customers.Desired Settlement: I feel the owner did not deliver his due diligence in diagnosing the laptop's problems. Twice I requested a diagnosis on the problem to submit to my insurance company, explaining I had no way to test things such as RAM, sockets, and mother board. He kept stating it was my power cord. Several times I had to tell him it was not the power cord, and that I used the OEM power cord at home.

When I called him back to let him know the computer was still making the beeping sound, he said it was because of the power cord. I informed him that I wasn't plugged in with the power cord, but working off the battery. He then proceeded with yelling at me again, and saying that I was lying to him. He also claimed that I spent 15 to 20 minutes in the store checking the laptop before leaving and it was fine, and threatened me with having me on surveillance tape and video. I told him I was not in the store but a couple minutes before leaving because he made me feel very uncomfortable.

I am requesting a refund of my money because I did not receive a diagnosis (he didn't even perform a diagnostic test), and the laptop is still in the same condition as when I dropped it off, except it has a charged battery which I could have done myself.
