A V R Accounting

Review: I called [redacted] in regards to determining the capitol gains on a rental property we own. He has previously prepared our taxes when we first purchased the rental property. He stated his rate $130/hr. and that it would take 1 - 2 hours to complete the work. About a day later I received an email message that he had worked 2.5 hours and needed about 1 hour more to complete the job. I immediately emailed back to stop work. We spoke that afternoon and he stated that it would take more time to complete the job in looking at all the tax returns and to write a letter detailing the assessment. I stated that this was too much and I couldn't afford this price... Originally the price $195 - $260 stated by him and then the price climbed to $455 to complete the work. I received an invoice from him for 2 hours of work of $260. From my perspective I did not receive any product or information from him and yet still have to pay for two hours of work...Desired Settlement: Reduction or no charge since the amount of work needed to complete was under estimated by him. If I had known the price required I would never have wanted him to start this work...
