A Verdi Storage Containers

On October 14 there was a call from [redacted] at Averdi on the answering machine. She told me that my August and September payments that I made did not get paid. One was reversed and the other didn't go through. I make the payments at the storage facility office in [redacted]. She told me I was locked out of my storage unit, had two months back rent to pay, and two late fees. She told me I owed $234 total for everything plus the one month I wanted to pay into the future to give myself time to clean out my storage unit. I agreed to pay it all on October 22 when my new month's bill is due. However, I protested the late charges. This was the first I heard about any of this. Indeed, I received an invoice from Averdi via email dated October 3 saying I was paid up for those months. She wouldn't even look into the situation or consider it was an error on Averdi's part. The charge I made with my [redacted] Bank credit card in August was approved when I made the payment at the storage facility in [redacted]. However, [redacted] Bank reversed it. I called [redacted] Bank and was told that Averdi submitted the payment information incorrectly and that was the reason for the reversal. The [redacted] Bank representative said to have Averdi call and they'd verify that it was Averdi's error. However, when I told this to [redacted] she refused to call and claims that I must have had [redacted] Bank reverse the charge. Not true! [redacted] Bank will tell her if she calls them that it's Averdi's error but she won't call and won't remove the late charge.

The September payment that was approved when I paid at the storage facility but didn't go through was made with a [redacted] debit card. [redacted] told me there's no problem with my account and it looks like a problem on Averdi's end. Still [redacted] will not look into it or remove the late charge. After I complained to the owners, she backed off the $234.00 she told me I owed and said she was going to calculate a higher total. I said I wouldn't pay a new higher total. She never emailed the new total to me as promised and told me not to contact her anymore about this matter--she said for me to have my attorney call. I replied I needed the new total. I was hoping she'd change her mind and stick with the original total, but she never got back to me. In the meantime, access to my stuff is being denied me and I don't know how much more she added on top of the original $234 charge she backed away from. We had a resolution but she torpedoed that with her telling me she'd calculate a higher bill.
