Nobody knew that the material that was used was defectiveWe don't make the shingles, *** doesWe didn't supply the shingles, *** *** did (they are no longer in business)We DID install the shingles and there was no problem with the installation.A year warranty shingle is what *** model that is failingThis is different than a year warranty roofIn the state of Michigan a contractor is required to guarantee its work for monthsAs far as the records, we used to keep them longerHowever because of the massive amounts of paperwork from being in business for years, we only keep records for years, and are only required to keep them for years.Meanwhile, we have been out to the *** house twiceWe have talked to them numerous timesThey are filing a claim against ***, which is their only recourse of actionThis requires the homeowner only (not the contractor)However they did contact us about helping them with the claim, which we have agreed to help any way we can

The roof was installed over 16 years ago. The manufacture ([redacted]) has a 25 year warranty. The workmanship guarantee is 10 years. The shingles do have a manufacture defect. We advised the [redacted] that we did not make these shingles and that roofing manufacture's require the homeowner make the claims...

online. They do not accept claims from the contractor. Nothing was wrong with the installation, and we cannot give a free roof for a product we have no bearing on.

Im not please the business owner said that this material was defected 10 years ago and a roof was replace he should contact me knowing about the defect he has on my contract super seal he didn't have my contract I had to fax it 16 years is not 25 years he even said I had the wrong lining when he look at it I know nothing about roofing but my roof looks like I had it for 30 years I just want justice for almost decade I have left.
