Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2015/11/10) */
On October 30th [redacted] was accidentally cut on the right back knee during grooming. [redacted] immediately called the client to let her know what happened. We told her we would take [redacted] to the Vet unless she had a vet she preferred to take [redacted]...

to. She told us to go ahead and take her to the vet. [redacted] then called the client back to let her know we couldn't see the vet until 4 pm, was that alright. The client said that was fine. [redacted] took [redacted] to the Vet and paid all medical cost, The vet said the wound was minor, but due to its location she wanted to put 4 small stitches to keep it from opening while it healed. [redacted] then delivered [redacted] to her home. On Monday(regular day closed) 11/03/2015, the client called and left a message asking someone to return her call. I ([redacted]) returned the call that day and left a message. [redacted] called again on Tuesday Morning during normal business hours and left another message. On Tuesday evening the client called and spoke to [redacted] stating that no one had returned her call. I then called her back within 10 minutes and reached her. She stated that [redacted] wasn't acting right and wanted her to go back to the vet. I called and made an appointment for the next morning 11/04/2015 at 11 am, called the client back to confirm the appointment time. She said she wanted to go to hear what the vet had to say. We offered to pick her and [redacted] up and drive them to the appointment. On 11/04/2015 the client called and said she did not want to go to [redacted] Animal Hospital, she wanted a second opinion. She said she had made an appointment at the SPCA on Thursday 11/05/2015. She then asked when she could come by and discuss legal matters, I responded anytime. On Thursday 11/05/2015 she arrived at our business where I again apologized for the incident only for her to respond with threats of ruining my reputation if I did not give her money. I responded she would have to discuss that with my attorney. After leaving our facility she called within 2 minutes with more threats about our reputation if I didn't handle this the way she wanted. On that same day [redacted] met her at the clients vet for a follow up and payed all cost for that visit. The vet stated that [redacted] was doing great, the cut was healing good and [redacted] was walking and moving normally. The client admitted to not following [redacted] directions and removed the head cone allowing [redacted] to lick on the wound. Her personal vet told her she needed to put the head cone back on and bring [redacted] back on 11/10/2015 to remove the stitches at no charge.
I've been grooming for 33 years and as much precaution as we take accidents do happen. Unfortunately dogs are moving and jumping around while a groomer is using sharp clipper blades and scissors on a pet. [redacted] has been a client since July 2012, and her pet parent knows the care and compassion we always provide her.
