DOES NOT STAND BEHIND HIS WORK PRODUCT When three of four prongs broke off a ring that Mike’s Custom Jewelry reset for me just three years before, I lost a diamond that I had inherited from my Mother; something you just can’t put a price tag on Mike was defensive, made no apologies, nor did he express any sympathy for my loss He told me that he never warranties or guarantees settings on center stones He claimed that the average lifespan of a prong is only three to five years, a questionable statement given that people wear rings for decades without prongs breaking Reputable jewelers stand behind their work product and take pride in offering a warranty or guarantee Do not entrust your valuable jewelry to Mike Holmes

Mike's Custom Jewelry DOES NOT provide detailed work orders for custom jewelry work (which is a violation of consumer protection laws for this type of work) so there's no way to know what you are actually getting or paying for He shows the customer higher quality diamonds then puts lower quality diamonds in the actual settings, does not guarantee his work and is, frankly, as crooked as a business person can be I threatened to file a complaint with the Consumer Protection Agency before he corrected the shiesty stuff he was trying to pull and the finished custom ring work he did on two rings was quite poor with visible solder on the diamond prongs I will never go back and customers should read reviews and insist on detailed work orders that show the grade/clarity of any diamonds being used and a cost breakdown of all work being performed

My husband & I gave over $worth of business for some work done to the wedding ring set of my mother that My father gave me after she diedWe went back to have a ring sized down (solid gold wedding) and asked to have the gold taken out given back to us (since it was our to begin with)Upon retrieval of the ring (which we were charged $95), Mike, the owner, told us that the gold he removed was "gone." He reportedely used a cutting wheel and said the gold was filed off into dustLater that day, a store worker called and said she had the piece of gold that was cut from the ring & we could pick it upI doubt Mike - again, the owner - forgot that he cut a chunk of gold out of a ringThis was theft outrightI am now going to have another jeweler look at the work Mike did in order to see if he replaced a diamond that was missing w/ something other than a diamondOr what other theft possibly occuredI will not ever return to Mike's Custom Jewelry again & will tell anyone who asks to not patronize thiefs

I also took my engagement ring in to have my gold band replaced and made into white gold and put my diamond in thatIt was about $200+ and when he called to say it was ready, I went in and he then said that he had to replace my original CT Marquise diamond for a new one because my original one "broke into pieces"! I couldn't believe it, but hey, he's the expert, right? So he gave me a "great deal" and charged me an extra $500, How thoughtful of him! So not only did I lose $750, I also lost my entire engagement ringI'm so angry about this and I don't know what I can do about itDO NOT TRUST MIKE'S CUSTOM JEWELRY!!!! I wish there was an option for zero starsI hate that I have to give him even STAR
