A-Zip Moving & Cartage Reviews (%countItem)

I reported numerous furniture scratches, dents and damages. They have not resolved properly repairing a custom-made wedding gift coffee.
*** sent a fellow out with a furniture pencil kit to repair; however, the pencils cannot repair the dent damages to other furniture that I will not pursue; however, I am insistent that the coffee table is restored to it's pre-move condition. The pencil carrying fellow said to contact Terri which I did so. I have contacted him numerous times via email, but we are being ignored. The owner has not attempted to resolve the repair. We are very upset. The 8 hour paid move was completed in 5 hours. Care was not taken to protect our items by this moving company.

Desired Outcome

To have our custom coffee table top stripped and restained to pre-move condition or sanded and touched up to match the colour and fill the indent in the maple coffee table by a professional company. The other damages to the bedroom headboard, dresser, was not being pursued to repair, though I am reconsidering that too since they really do not care about their warranty guarantee promises.

I wish to address the unfounded and quite simply the untrue allegations made by the consumer.

First let's start with original estimate *** performed Aug. 30/18 enclosed. The estimate clearly states the quote is by the hour with a truck and three men and estimated at 8.0 hours in duration. This is where I believe the customer's biggest issue arises. Then in Sept. the customer states she does not feel comfortable with a quote by the hour and requests a guaranteed flat rate quote not subject to change no mater how long it takes unlike the original hourly quote. We then accommdate with re-estimate *** elclosed at a guaranteed flat rate and the customer accepts and reserves the move for Oct. 29/18 Then on moving day we send a five man crew instead of the original three man crew from the original estimate*** which by this time is obviously null and void, in order to captilize on profit because that's why we are in business is for profit and of coarse logically it takes less time then originally anticipated.

Next issue the damages please see the enclosed estimate which clearly states the customer does have full insurance included, however the insurance is only in effect for the 48 hours and is subject to a $100.00 deductible on the part of the customer from the date and time of the move. Now the problems arise starting with the first report of any issues come in via telephone a week and half after the move date from the customer. Therefore insurance null and void after a week and half after the fact However in the interest of preserving customer good will we dispatched *** professional furniture restoration technican not a pencil pusher as the customer tries to portray him in the written complaint.
*** discovers four main issues the bedroom furniture damage is all pre existing damage backed by the moving day pre damage report enclosed and signed for by the customer themshelves. Secondly custom coffee table had been moved from the orignial position by the movers on moving day so how do know if the table was damaged upon being re moved not by us. However *** effects what he feels is a very suitable restoration on the table, and then the customer refuses to pay the agreed upon $100.00 deductible.

Therefore we consider this case closed and we not respond to any further correspondence!

A-Zip Moving & Cartage clearly does not want to take responsibility for damage done. No furniture was moved from where the movers placed the items as the items. The call was placed within 48 hours, Emails sent on other dates with slow repsonse to the issue. Four movers not five arrived: Neighbours are our witnesses. *** with his furniture crayons suggested we contact *** about the $100 deductible as he admittedly stated it is beyond his capability to repair. After phone calls, email correspondence, this company is clearly still not up to customer care or taking responsibility. Again, they are avoiding the cost of the repair with may be a couple hundred dollars. We are good honest people dealing with a company that does not live up to it's promises or sales claims. Frustrating to deal with.

Happy New Years Katherine: Thanks for filing complaint with B.B.B. when it was totally unnecessary. Let me refresh your memory a little bit the last time we spoke verbally we left it you were going to contact the original co. that completed the coffee table to see if they could help.
Then out of the blue you are emailing me to ask if I had contacted anyone for the repair when the only co. that I have ever used quite satisfactory was *** whom already visited you then you went ballistic after which.
However I am still monetarily willing as I always was to help. So therefore if you wish to still contact the original co. and or take a couple quotes from new companies we then can proceed from there. Regards

items were broken that where wrapped up in boxes that were tossed to each other from mover to mover.
was mislead on moving cost
on dec 01 2017 I had the movers move my items to my new place when they got there I was then told of a min rate of 4.5 hours I had only planed on paying the rate I was told which was 125.00 a hour so before they started moving my items from my home the owner *** showed up and said because I did not know he asked how much money I had for move I told him 310.00 so he told his 3 men move what you can on truck for one hour then close up and go to new place and unload *** asked for money up front so I handed him 310.00 cash so his men and my son started moving items on the truck at 915am we were all packed up except my leather sofa as they did not pack truck right and could not use the back big door so they tryed putting sofa in side door and door was to small they left it out side and said they where closing up that was at 955am we get to new place they started unloading pop from one of my 24 pk case was missing and other case was broken they threw the case on the lawn then when the three guys started moving the boxes off the moving truck they would toss boxes one guy was in the side of truck and the other standing on ground waiting to catch box by box they left all boxes and tables on the driveway and only put tvs and dressers in the apartment they were all done and left at 1040 am when I started unpacking I found my dishes and some glasses and cups broken (they were wrapped before put in boxes) some other things that where wrapped and put in boxes that were broken was a native ceramic doll(worth over 300.00) that can not be replaced it was given to me by my mother in law who has passed with cancer recently there also was picture frames that had glass on it that was cracked
I have spoken to the owner *** he is not willing to honor the insurance part of his contract and refuses to return any money to me for the hours and driving time he charged me for when it was not used the excuse he used was because he thinks my furniture and items where trash he said I was a *** he also said the place they moved my stuff out of was a health hazard for his men cus it was a mess yes there was stuff laying around I told him however there job was to move my items in order to sweep and mop and take the stuff I was not taken and put it in the trash witch we did after all items we wanted move was at new place the items ***s men were to move was
2 black leather sofa (only one got moved)
6 dressers
3 tvs
1 chest freezer
coffee table and end tables
wood wall unite
2 beds box spring and mattress
4 wood book shelf's
and a bunch of boxes(about 30) taped with duck tape
the owner *** was at the moving place for a few mins after he got his money then he left
me and my son age 19 helped with moving items even know I was not supost to lift anything due to my fractures on my spine however the movers slowed down once *** left and time was being watched so I started moving items to later ended up in hospital we only got movers cus of my back issues this time other wise we would of used a uhal it was cheaper and would not of had so many broken items and would not of lost so much money also I would not of been judged or put down because as *** said im

Desired Outcome

at this time i am asking for the owner to pay for the broken items as part as he said they would before they moved my stuff and for the extra money he charged me as i do have a witness that was standing right there when *** said "125.00 an hour to move there plus driving time then 125.00 a hour for them to unload truck they started loading up at 915 am then drove to new place and got all stuff off truck and was pulling away from my new place at 1040 am it dont add up

A-Zip Moving & Cartage Response

I won't even dignify this complaint with a response due to the non validity which simply means this customer is trying extort money for her self. Picture this move it was like walking into the worst case scenario of the T.V. program the *** it was completely *** and definitely a health and safety issue and the furniture was completely trashed human waste ***. Regarding the price this customer like all customers for the last thirty years were told upon booking told again upon verbally confirming and again upon arrival that we charge a 4 1/2 hour minimal charge. However upon arrival and confirming the customer only presented $310.00 so we thought we would nice and try to move as much as possible for the monetary buget the customer had to work with and this what we receive in return. Signed Discussed at A-ZIP

Customer Response

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
For one my place was not a *** home two there was no *** anywhere in that home or on any furniture and my place did not smell at all if the place was as bad as they say it was they had the right not to move my items or go into apartment I feel this company is being very judgmental and disrespectful so they do not have to pay for the sevreal broken items it is really sad that a company would act and say the things they are in order to get out of standing by there word of paying for broken items it is really sad they have to make stories up in order to miss treat people the way they are to me my kids and our belongings we may not be rich but everything we have I have worked hard for and paid cash he has no right to put me or anyone eles down
