Paid 250$ for 45 min work after he showed up 1.5 hours late.Original problem not fixed then he did not show up twice to fix after appts made.On verbally arrainged appointment date 6/22/13 I called [redacted] to ask why he was 1.5 hours late and he told me he had forgotten the appointment but would be able to come and look at central AC unit.He arrived with a young man in early twenties and I told him that unit turns off after being on for twenty-sixty minutes. He looked at air filter and told me it was probly the problem and told me to replace with a different type.I though it was strange he did not replace and install. He then started talking on his cell phone which he did the next twenty minutes while the young man tested refrigeration and told me there was actually too much coolant and removed to proper level.[redacted] then stated that the vent fins were oxidized and dirty and would need to be cleaned, which the young man did while [redacted] continued to talk on his cell phone. He stated that the new filter(which I later purchased and installed) and the clean vent fins the unit will funtion normally.I thought sounded logical and beleived him.Still when he told me 250$ for 45 minutes "work" I was a little angry, especially after he wasted 1 and a half hour off my time on a precious day off.I gave hime a check a they left, being at my house less than an hour and unit was running.I then turned off since it was cool enough out not to need AC.The follwowing day was goping to be hot and I turned unit on prior to going to work for 12 hours only to come home to an 85 degree house with the AC unit off as prior to A1AC looking at it.I imediately called and left an urgent message to [redacted] at 715 with no response that evening. The next morning he did call me and stated he would come look at unit after he goes to the shop for a bit to clean out his truck.I waited two hours again and got called in to the hospital which I work at.I called and left a message which he later called back and stated to leave unit running and he can look at even if I am not here.I turned unit on and went to work on another extremely hot day 6/24/13. I came home that night at 730 and again the unit had turned off,the house was 85 degrees.I called [redacted] and he claimed he had looked at unit,he added refridgerent(even though his associate had removed some 2 days ago,)and that unit was running fine when he left.At this point I am furious and frustrated. I againg told him it was not working and that I paid him to fix it and he said he could come and look at the following week on 6/6/13.Again I waited all day for this man and he did not show or return phone calls.I could have worked extra that day and did not due to him coming.I then called him and expressed my disappointment in his lack of services and professionalism and would be pursuing small claims reconciliation as well as filing a complaint with Revdex.com,what a surpise I heard nothing back from him.Desired SettlementI would like full refund considering that he did not fix the original problem I overpaid for.I know they did clean unit and test refrigerent but my missed opportunity for refusing work due to waiting for him to no show more than accounts for the entire amount refunded.I could have made 1000$ for a double bonus shift that day.Business' Initial Response We went to the consumers house ac was not working properly. We got to the house my helper and me. When we arrived AC unit beyond dirty. Consumers are supposed to maintenance unit every other year. We cleaned the unit. I charged the consumer for a cleaning. We checked the refrigeration we could not get a proper check of the charge due to the cool temperature. After we were done with cleaning we charged for the cleaning and the checking of the charge and one hour of labor. $150.00 and $100.00 for cleaning. We checked the inside filter it was filthy we removed and advised the consumer to purchase a new filter and advised consumer to replace the filter once a month. Consumer called me a day or two later. I advised consumer I could check the unit he stated he had to go to work. I advised consumer I can check outside unit, but since he was not going to be home I could not check inside unit. So I went check the unit it was low 2 pounds of refrigeration. I put two pounds of refrigeration (R22) in and rechecked the charge and everything was working properly. I was at consumers home for 1hour and 10mins. I could not check the unit inside because consumer was not home. I did not charge the consumer for recheck or the refrigeration or labor which would have equaled $170.00. Consumer called back two days later and stated the unit was still not working properly, I assumed the in- door evaporation coil was dirty because consumer never changed it but since I could not access the unit I was unable to check. I was on vacation and I could not contact consumer. If consumer is unhappy with my work because I could not get in the house to recheck the unit. I am willing refund him 250.00 dollars.
