We signed a contract with *** * *** *** (revised
three times) on December 12th to build a new master bathroom on
a former bedroom with brand new rough plumbing, new electrical and
building. Windows, doors and special
fixtures were also built after the demolition of two rooms, a walk in closet
eliminating all the plumbing on a former bathroom including all labor and rough
materials for $12,000. Our company
provided the tax exemption and free deliveries for all customer finished
materials. The new bathroom needed a
vent which was created right on the edge of the roof, after a detailed
inspection, we noticed that the leak came from an old vent in the middle of the
room. Our vent pipe was exposed before
Sheetrock installation(weeks) prior and after building inspections, we
experienced rainy days and snow during this time with no leaks what’s so ever We explained to *** *** in details and we
were under the impression that he understood (we resealed and tarred both vents
on that surface free of charge). We had
full email communication with *** * *** *** (total of 26), they never
addressed any issues on any of the emails after that and I have never received
any phone calls as they state on the complaint.
Our contract reflects a one year full guarantee on labor (copy of
contract, emails and vent pictures provided at request), we do not believe in
other contractors statements to accommodate their job description. We made extraordinary measures to comply with *** * *** *** commands, we successfully finished this beautiful
project on a limited budget with the most expensive finish materials by
customers. The last email we received
from *** *** was January 29th never referring to any
problem other than questions about payments and more labor that they
requested. We will be more than happy to
address any issue relating our contract guarantee, all request must be in
writing from *** *** to avoid any “I say, You say” discrepancies

Review: The contract specified guaranteed followup service for any problems after completion of a full bathroom remodel. We called the contractor for three specific items: the roof vent he installed was not sealed and caused a leak into the new bathroom ceiling requiring re-sheetrocking, spackling and re-painting of the bathroom ceiling and the hiring of another contractor to seal the vent, the radiator installed in the bathroom leaks into the floor causing leaking and damage in the kitchen ceiling, the grout in the shower had to be re-applied due to cracking and failing. We called [redacted] Called many times and were never able to speak to him and never received a callback. When I gave [redacted] the final payment for the work, one of the comments he made to me was not to forget that the work was guaranteed forever and that therefore was worth every penny.

During construction many items had to be redone 2 and 3 times to get it correct. For example, the 3 windows that were installed completely incorrectly and I had to insist that another worker (with more experience) be brought in to correct. There never seemed to be any communication between him and his workers as I would give specific instructions regarding something and the next day it would be done incorrectly. I asked them to call me at any time, anywhere if there were ANY questions and never got a call and consequently had to have things redone numerous times. The shower tile was redone at least four times at my insistence. I found out that tile I provided for the corner was incorrect and they never bothered to tell me, but just tried to make it work anyway. To this day, since the final check was given we have never received a callback or spoken directly to Mr. [redacted] regarding any defects large or small in the workmanship.Desired Settlement: I would like Mr. [redacted] to refund the money expended for various repairs required by his poor workmanship and to repair or have repairs made by others for any issues to arise in the future due to his poor workmanship.
