A1 Home Inspection Reviews (4)

This company is so awesome. I am so pleased with this company from my first phone to to the finish of the install. They went above the call of duty to make sure I could afford and enjoy my new system. Everyone was so professional and attentive. My professional installers kept me informed every step of the process. They provided me financing options to help maximize my savings. I will always use this company and refer them to everyone.

Review: A-1 Home Inspections did a pre-purchase home inspection on April 17, 2014. On May 22, 2014, I had a mold expert inspect my basement as a strong odor of cat urine was coming from the basement and I was informed that that could mean mold. The mold expert confirmed I had a severe mold problem in my basement and was given an estimate of nearly $2,000 for remediation. The mold was on the floor, the ceiling, in the rafters, in and on custom cabinetry, in the crawl space and on the walls. The inspector did not specify there was a mold issue nor did he suggest I call in a mold expert. When I notified the inspector of said mold problem, he asked to come inspect the property with his trusted mold expert. I agreed to let him and his trusted mold expert come inspect my basement. The inspector did not show up on the date agreed but his "mold expert" did. The gentleman offered to "clean the mold up" for $250. Since that was so much lower than the first estimate, I called a third expert. The third expert's estimate came in at nearly $3,000. I chose to go with the first expert and on July 24, 2014 my entire basement was gutted and treated for mold. Additionally, I sent the inspector an e-mail on June 24, 2014 asking for him to return the fees I paid for the home inspection. He has failed to respond to my e-mail or phone calls.Desired Settlement: Refund the fees paid for the home inspection and the cost of the mold remediation.

Review: A1 Home Inspections was responsible for a pre-purchase home inspection. Since occupying the home I have found several issues that should have been identified during inspection. The two most pressing issues involved the electrical system and the roof. I have recently found that the electrical supply to the home is 100Amp, but that the seller had installed a 150Amp circuit breaker. The roof has poor joint seals on the roof sheeting and misfit flashings which have caused considerable water damage within the premises.I have attempted to contact the inspector via phone as well as certified mailings, none of which have been responded to.Desired Settlement: Coverage of the repair and replacement costs for correcting the fire risk associated with the improper electrical system. Repair costs estimated at $1500.
