Review: The gentleman came to my house to fix my Refrigerator he quoted me $299.00. I went and looked the price of the part on a web site and it was only $31.00 plus shipping and he was only there for about 45 Minutes. I told him I was going to contact the Revdex.com and report there high prices, I call on Monday 5 or 6 places and got a quote of $198.00, $195.00 with coupon, $184.50, $129.00 plus parts. I figured that was enough quotes to see that they where charging at least $100.00 more than needed. I agreed to the price because I didn't know the price of the part or how long it would take.. Also he charged me $16.00 tax which is the wrong tax rate, it is 6% tax and labor isn't taxed and he did not put the part or price for the part on the invoice, very unprofessional company. I tried to have the manager call me and he told the person who answers the phone, I agreed to the price. I feel I was ripped off and per your web site I see they have had other problems. The guy tried to say it was Sunday, well they called me at 8:15 am and woke me up and they didn't mention anything about charging more for being Sunday, I could have waited till Monday, the problem started on Thursday morning and nothing went bad for 4 days, they should of mentioned a Sunday surcharge, as I told him I could have waited till Monday or Tuesday to have it fixed..Desired Settlement: Refund me $90.00 that is more of a reasonable price for the labor, it's at least $27.00 more than the most expensive quote I got..

Response:
We did the job that we were asked to do. We told the customer upfront what the price would be for the repairs and he agreed. He also signed the invoice agreeing to all the terms. He could have shopped around if he wanted to but he agreed to the work that was completed. Therefore, I do not see the reason for him to report us to the Revdex.com. Thank you.

I am rejecting this response because: I agree I accepted the price. that was before I new the price of the part and the amount of labor needed. They were right I had the right to shop around but I didn't think they where in the business to rip people off. Per the Revdex.com web page they have had 4 or 5 other complaints about their over pricing. I did shop around after they finished as stated in the original complaint. I guess I learned my lesson. The service technician offered me $50.00 before he left or he would contact the manager and call me and he never did. Also the invoice wasn't filled out correctly, they charged income tax on the whole amount which was wrong anyway, proving they don't know what they are doing. Charged $15.00 in taxes and are rate in VA is 6% which would have been $18.00. But labor is non taxable, only the parts used are taxable another thing showing they don't know what there are doing. Learned my lesson I guess, will shop around the next time.
