To Whom It May Concern:Regarding 1*** ** *** we would like to apologize for the miscommunication and misunderstandingHad the owner been there, things would have been much clearerWe were referred by the home warranty company to check for low hot water pressureWe checked the water heater,
which was older, bu the lavatory faucet in the basement had plenty of pressure, so the water heater was no the problemThe upstairs bathroom lavatory faucet was also fineThe kitchen faucet had a buibehind the stop, (see pictures) so we replaced the stops for the kitchenThere still was a built-in, non-removable pressure restrictor built into the faucet, There was plenty of pressure coming through the stops after we cleaned and flushed the water lines.After the kitchen, we moved to the tub/shower faucet, It had some cold water but very little hot waterTo repair this problem with a moen faucet, we usually rebuild the faucet, which means replacing the cartridgeThe first step is to take the handle offIn this case, the handle was fused to the stemWe have several tools that can be used for this, including a handle puller, and none of them workedAfter about minutes, the handle finally came off with art of the stemThe rest of the stem wouldn't come out easily either and was coming out in little pieces(See pictures) After about an hour, it became evident that replacing this faucet would be more economical than continuing to repair itespecially if the blockage was in the water lines before the faucet bodyWe contacted the home warranty company and they informed us that the homeowner would be responsible for the payment as this was not a covered itemWe then called the owner to inform him of the current situationAfter several minutes of trying to explain what wasn't going right, he seemed to not understand the circumstances and told us to leave, that he'd finish and that he didn't want to pay for a new faucet since the final bill would have been close to $Since the tub faucet doesn't have stops, the water was off to the houseWe didn't clean up the mess that we'd made in the tub because we had not finished the jobAnd, no, we didn't destroy anything.As for foul language, we apologizeThings on this job were not going well at allif the young woman was offended, she could have said somethingHer baby slept the entire time we were there.The plumber at this house has more than years experience doing these types of home repairsSometimes things do not come apart easilyMost of the time, they aren't a big problemWhen things don't go well, a decision has to be made, at the time, as to the next stepIn this case, replacing the faucet was recommended.We called the home warranty company upon leaving, informing them of everything that had occurred and were instructed to bill the owner for the remainder of he bill, after deductibleThat's why the invoice was sent(copy included)Regards,Advantage Plumbing Copy and pictures also sent to State Attorney in response to their letter.Includes pictures or kitchen pipe behind stop and shower faucet, and his letters to the Revdex.com, home warranty and the state plumbing office
