AA Drivers Ed School Inc Reviews (1)

Review: My daughter attempted to take her Drivers Test here. An examiner named [redacted] failed her on her parallel parking while making claim that her wheel went up on the curb, while she reportedit hit the curb. This was the second attempt while the first time he claimed she was too far from the curb. He then had her drive around the block two more times and park, on both times she was successful. He asked her to proceed on while going back to exit the area. She stopped at the stop sign came out to proceed and while passing by the business AA Driving, he asked her to pull in on immediate request to park. They got out of the car where he told her she failed. Not knowing the entire time the status of her test, and exiting the road on immediate request was enough to warrant cause for a discrepancy in his ethics and intentions. This type of behavior is not conducive of a test environment and it appears she may not have failed the test at all. I have disputed the charge and require an explanation for his behavior and reasoning for having her try other times without telling her about how she had hit the curb. He was rude and would make anyone nervous. He also noted something about the tint in the windows which he did not mention to me the parent who is responsible for the purchase of the car.Desired Settlement: Refund of 70 dollars and an apology for behavior not appropriate for the service or environment.

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 6, 2014/10/07) */

On September 24th 2014 complainant's daughter took a road test at the [redacted] and failed on parallel parking. On October 3rd 2014 complainant's daughter took a road test at [redacted] and failed on parallel parking.

As a courtesy after the road test was over, the instructor then showed her how to parallel park correctly at no additional cost.

As instructors we know how nervous the road test can make people. We do our best to keep things calm.

Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 8, 2014/10/09) */

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)

The [redacted] road test had nothing to do with this incident. It is ludicrous and simply minded to include it. However at the [redacted] there were two examiners and they both spent time talking with myself and my daughter. Even though we had practiced parallel parking they had suggestions for aligning your vehicle in the right position.

We worked even more on parallel parking to ensure she was ready to take her test. I spent time with her and felt she was ready and if anything it made her better at this part of the test. Also at the [redacted] they generally allow you to take your test in a month but felt she could wait a week and retake it. WE were going to retake at the [redacted] but there were no appointment openings for over a month. We went to AA Drivers ED because they allow a first come first serve appointment. So in AA Drivers ED response to my complaint they suggest that a failure once warrants a failure twice, which is not true and very unethically presented. In my original complaint I questioned not only the behavior of the examiner but his ethics and reason for failure. I only question it more after their response to my complaint. I filed with Revdex.com because the examiner did not explain his actions or make any attempts to speak with me the parent or even inform my daughter that she had failed the test at the supposed time of failure. But instead had her park twice more (successfully) and she was not instructed by the examiner as mentioned above she parked successfully on her own accord. The examiner ended the test abruptly and then informed her she had failed. The manner in which the test was conducted and the behavior and treatment of my daughter and myself was abusive. I have reason to question the examiners actions and whether she failed the test at all, in fact the discrepancy which I already reported was that my daughter said that the car's tire did not run over the curb in her second attempt to park as requested. This alone made me question the examiner. And it should be a natural response to want to inform someone at the time and give reason for failure and make attempts to communicate with those who are taking the test and paying for the service. This examiner never made eye contact once or acted in a sincere manner when spoken to and it was a terrible experience for both my daughter and myself.
