AA Temperature Services Reviews (%countItem)

I called AA because they were the ones that did the original installation. Their person answering the phone is very polite and well informed. The tech, Mark, showed up on time to repair my non-working A/C unit. He immediately went to the drain line and vaced it out. Said to turn on the unit, felt air blow, and left. The air was not cool and during his initial visit, he did no service other than the drain line and made a show of tipping a can of something into a pan below the a/c unit. He showed me the can. It was empty. I. called the company and they sent him back. This time he removed a panel off the outside unit, used a tester and declared a part bad. he replaced it and left. I was billed for a service (that I didn't get) and a drain line service (the empty can that he appeared to pour in a pan that had no drain line attached) and $244,00 for the bad part and labor. I called and they gave me a credit for the drain line chemical that was not done ( the pan he made a show of pouring was an under the unit overflow pan with no drain line). I paid for a service that did not happen as he only did the drain clear first and the second trip only the bad part replacement. So, I paid over $300.00 for shoddy work. I do not recommend Mark although I have no issue with what I assume is the office manager.

I really do not understand why this review is a one star review. We went out to the customer's home as per their request, and saw the drain line clogged, we cleared the drain line and the unit started up. At a point later in time, the unit went out again. We came back and replaced a part that also went bad. We did not charge for the second trip out - but only for the part. We alos even refunded him the drain line cleaning though we did not have to - we did this just to make the customer happy. It is not our fault that his part was working when we were there and then broke down later. We also did not charge him for a second trip and even refunded him $125, and he still has chosen to leave us a bad review.

Customer Response • Sep 10, 2020

Let's, be truthful here. I paid for an a/c service for $95.00 and got a drain line clean with a suction device. No inspection. No other service. If the tech would have performed a routine service he would have known the capaciitator was not working so not being charged for a second service visit should not even be discussed. The tech did not chemical clean the drain line so my refund was in order. My one star was given because I did not get the service I paid for and the tech was not truthful. He thought he had a easy one. What is hard for me to understand is why your business has a super Revdex.com rating when every review has negative comments. I wonder if they read them.

AA Temperature Services Response • Sep 11, 2020

Sir, you did not pay for a tune up, you paid for us to check your system. We diagnosed why it wasn't working, and the reason was because the drain line was clogged. We cleared the drain and your unit began to run again. Once we saw that your unit was running properly again, we left. You did not opt to have us check the rest of your system and perform a full tune up/diagnostic while we were there. So when it went out again, we did you a favor and came back out for free - for a separate issue...and we refunded you for the work done on the last visit even though we did in fact do that work (chemicals or not the job was done).Unreal.

Customer Response • Sep 11, 2020

This is your constant reply format for any complaints. I called your company many months ago and asked, since you installed my a/c, if you did normal preventative work and you replied yes. I asked the price and you said $95.00 for the SERVICE, So why would I not know I was getting only a quick check. And to set you straight. I am the one who told Mark I thought the problem was a clogged drain as it usually is. He didn't diagnose, I did. Let's end this discussion. You most likely realize by now I will NEVER us or recommend your set of three companies as you are too slippery for me. Once shame on you, twice, shame on me. I still do not understand your Revdex.com rating. Please ask them how you have such a high rating when all of your reviews are so bad. And you contest and call out every one of the responders as being incorrect. It can't be every one.

AA Temperature Services Response • Sep 22, 2020

Our technician Mark has over 35 years of industry experience. I can assure you he does not need your help in diagnosing your units. Again, we both did the work you asked and refunded you money and you have still left a bad review even though your unit is running perfectly well and you did not spend any extra money but actually were given a refund. This is exactly why we have such great reviews everywhere - because we do the right thing and always take care of our customers. Regarding the few bad reviews we have, it is unfortunate, but no matter how hard we try, some people you just cannot make happy even if you give them refunds, credits and free visits. Please also understand that we do thousands of jobs a year, and over the course of our history there are only a handful of people we couldn't make happy and these are the select few you are seeing and referring to.

Although I thought this discussion was over, evidently AA Temp Service is intent on continuing . As I have stated before, when I called your company I was informed that the cost of an a/c service was $95.00. In fact, I asked if that included a filter and was told no but we can bring one if you want. So much for an issue vs. service. The tech only cleaned the drain, nothing more. I'm surprised that AA Temp has ignored the %125.00 charge for a chemical drain clean as the container they showed me was empty and the tech made a show of pouring some into a drain pan that had no drain line so the chemical could not be in the drain line. I called because my unit stopped cooling. To use the companies line, if I did not call for a service and only to fix the a/c, when the tech left the unit did not work. So, due to that, I think the company should refund all the money I paid and their Revdex.com rating should reflect all the bad reviews they have.

AA Temperature Services Response • Sep 30, 2020

The unit was running at the time we left otherwise we would not have left, and we already refunded the cost of the drain clean, we came out again after it stopped running again for free and did not charge you for that call either. You simply paid for a service call and a capacitor and that is it, and that is what fixed your unit.

I called AA Air because our AC was not cooling. We had Tech, Mark A, show up on Tuesday 5/5 Late. The Tech Mark put in 2 lbs of freon. He charge me and left. 4 Days later the AC is dead agin. Tech Mark A. comes back out. Tells me the freon has leaked out again. My husband was home, and asked tech Mark where was it leaking. My husband had to ask him to go get his Sniffer that detects leaks. So Mark went to retrieve a dead Sniffer. I do not understand such poor tech service from a 5 star rated on home advisors company. Then I find out the company is not local to the Ellenton area. The company is located 80 miles south of Ellenton FL. I will use someone other than home advisers from now on.

AA Temperature Services Response • May 11, 2020

We are not AA Air and we do not have a technician named Mark Andrews, and I do not see a Kerry norberg in our customer list. I am thinking this may have been left for an incorrect company.

Horrible air conditioning work. Had to hire a new company to redo everything. Not only was the job done terribly but I was treated unprofessionally. They cut one of my trusses in my attic and have caused structural damage to my house. Very disappointed!!!

AA Temperature Services Response • May 12, 2020

We did install a new unit, and it was installed properly. We also were warrantying this unit for parts and labor. Customer was having some issues with the AC running, we went out multiple times to get her back up and running and found out that the issue that was causing the new unit not to run was the drain line, which we did not install and was existing with the home. We showed up to fix this problem for her and upon arriving, she told our technicians to leave. She never called to tell us she was having someone else put in a new unit, nor did she need to put in a new unit. She was treated with professionalism and respect every step of the way. We installed a perfectly good unit in a manner necessary to get the unit in her home. Everything we did was according to code, and we showed up to fix her one last outstanding issue and she kicked us off her property. There was absolutely no reason to get a new unit. She had someone out for a second opinion, and they convinced her to have them put in a new unit for her by using scare tactics and lies to convince the customer that she needed a new unit. It is shameful that they would do that to her especially since we were there to take care of this for her as planned and on time and as discussed. Very unfortunate.

Customer Response • May 12, 2020

These statements are quite untrue. I was without air conditioning multiple times during a 2 week period. I had 3 different techs out to my house yet it wasn't until the 5th visit that anyone told me they need to repipe the drain line. At that time I was told that would cost me $400.00 and I again would be without ac all weekend. To add salt to my wound I was called back after the tech left and was asked to pay $135.00 for the service call. I have complete photos of the work that they did and believe they speak a thousand words. Even they don't show the complete atrocity of their workmanship. They also cut a truss in my attic that has compromised the integrity of my home. Wonder who is going to cover the cost of this?? I did not kick anyone off my property, as a matter of fact I offered both John and Jorge to come in and pick up their equipment and neither did.

AA Temperature Services Response • May 15, 2020

There was absolutely nothing wrong with the installation of her unit, and in fact it was working perfectly. Every single time we came out, it was the same problem. Every time it was the old drain line, which we told her needed to be replaced on multiple occasions. She called us out again on a Saturday, even though the time we were out prior, we informed her that if it happens again, we would need to replace her drain lone which was original to the house, and that the cost would be $350-$400. She still insisted we come out anyways. Our tech came out again, and again found that it was her drain line. We can only come out so many times and tell someone they have the same problem before we have to start charging for our time.Every time when we cleared her drain line, the unit worked perfectly and beautifully. All she needed to do was replace the drain line which we told to her on the last 2 or 3 visits (that we never charged her for). Our unit was working properly and doing a great job, she simply just needed the drain line replaced, which was beyond the scope of work of our new unit installation and would have been resolved for about $350.

I am so over this. I can not continue to stress myself out with this man who is lying through his teeth to cover his reputation anymore. This job was botched and his people never conferred with me anytime before that Saturday of May the 9th. His system never worked properly the whole two weeks it was installed. His employees dropped the ball and he is defending a job he never even laid eyes on. He has proven the type of businessman he is by not even considering his customers satisfaction. He made no gestures to listen to or even consider the customers issues or feelings. I had a new company do an install and it was operational day one and I have never had any issue with the new system. This has been a huge consumer nightmare and he has never even owned up to the fact that they cut my truss in my ceiling. This will end up in a court one way or the other and the only document he has is the original contract where I hired him. The only time I signed anything or had any discussion with anyone in his employ prior to May the 9th that I needed a drainpipe. You can publish or not at this point I don't even care anymore. Just ask yourself for your consumers how much time is enough time to allow someone to provide the service you paid for???

AA Temperature Services Response • May 18, 2020

Unfortunately, this is simply not true. We know the unit worked everytime that we left the customers house. She only called us when it stopped working, and it only stopped working when the drain line would clog. The reason the unit from the new company is operational is because what needed to be fixed is now fixed, which is something we would have taken care of. Our work was completed and warrantied. Everything needed to be done to get this working was performed, and we came out multiple times for free for her honoring our warranty even though the problem was a secondary issue. She is more than welcome to take us to court, we know we are correct and have documented proof on this. This is a really sad occurrence though because the customer instead of just letting us fix the work paid an extra $5k for new unit which wasn't needed because another contractor scared her into thinking it was a lemon. Now the customer is saying anything and doing anything to try to get her money back, which is going to cost her more in court fees and in paying our court fees since we are not wrong in this matter, and have done everything properly and admirably every step of the way.

Customer Response • May 19, 2020

You are a shady company, this is obvious. I would certainly love to see your manufactured proof. I have never signed one document other than the original contract and if there was a problem on my end then your people should have informed me of that so it could be fixed. Do you really believe I chose to go without air multiple times over something that could be fixed? Do you even hear yourself rambling? It makes absolutely no sense that I would pay 6000.00 dollars for a unit and then not expect it to work. All your people had to do was fix it and I would have never had a problem. You have never came to get your unit and you don't have any interest or integrity to make things right with your consumer. I have tried multiple ways to work with you and you got your money so you don't even budge. You have never under any circumstances tried to make this right. People should know about your company and also the associated company G and R Heating and Cooling. Bad, Bad business people.

AA Temperature Services Response • May 19, 2020

There is nothing more to say here except that I agree with you that it does not make any sense that you had a new unit put in when yours only needed a a new drain line and already had a new unit it, and then to tell us to leave before the other company came out when we were there to fix the problem for $400 instead of you paying $6000 for the same exact result. You also probably do not have as good of a warranty now from the new company either. It really is a shame. You can search all over for us and you will see that we stand by all of work and do good work and make it right when we are wrong. In this case we are not wrong.

Customer Response • May 21, 2020

Well you never stood by your work, nor did you try to fix it in 2 weeks. Why would I pay $ 6000.00 for something to not have it work? Yes you are so right, I just wanted to go through all of this because obviously I just wanted to cause your business problems. Seriously, all I wanted was to pay a company for a job well done. Hence, air conditioning which you never provided . Now you can continue to say this is my fault because you can't admit yours. Amazing that I made the right decision and haven't had a problem since. I am so amazed that you believe that I simply wanted to put myself through all of this stress just to cause you and your company a problem. Why in anyone's right mind would they do that. You have yet to even try to make any of this right. $ 400.00 dollars would have meant nothing if you would have offered any guarantees on your work but you thought you could just skate and continue to hide the poor workmanship that your company provided. As I have said before if you had provided the service you had contracted to do, none of this would have ever came about. You sir need to provide what you promise and if you can't then learn to admit some fault in your representatives of your company not providing said service.

AA Temperature Services Response • May 22, 2020

Yes we did. We came out there multiple times FOR FREE. We cleared your old dirty drain line every time and our unit was working when we left every time. We informed you that the problem was simply the drain line, and that it needed to be replaced. You opted to call someone else for a second opinion and they shadily convinced you to buy and new unit instead.

Purchased a high end a/c unit from AA Temperature Service in Port Charlotte that was so poorly installed it did not work properly from day one.

We are snowbirds and bought this unit from a company we had dealt with for a number of years. Unbeknownst to us the company had been sold to a Bradley S. We paid in full after installation.
We left for the north the day after the unit was installed after several installation issues. That should have been a warning to us.
The unit never never did perform properly and broke down completely a couple of times over the summer. When we arrived on Oct 25th the temperature would not go below 80 degrees. AA sent their tech out several times to no avail. In desperation I called the manufacturer who advised us to hire *** to help us. They were appalled at the mess of the installation and we have pictures to prove AA temp was beyond incompetent. Our A/C unit has never been registered by AA temp for warranty and no inspection been done. I am filing a complaint with the DBPR and Mr S. said he didn't care about his license as he could get a new one through one of his other companies. Their staff has been belligerent to us and my 81 yr old husband is very distraught. This has been an anguishing time for us.

Desired Outcome

We want a rebate of the funds we paid *** to correct all the issues. After the manufacturer received the photos of wretched installation they have offered us a 10 year parts and labor warranty for free.

AA Temperature Services Response • Oct 31, 2019

We have asked to communicate with the customer and have even attempted to reach back out to ensure that everything has been resolved. We were planning to come back to finish up the install but the customer left the state. I am not sure why the customer called another company but we were coming out and would have continued to come back out for FREE until the job was fixed and completed. We have attempted to contact the customer to follow up numerous times. Please have the customer send over the invoices from the other company so that we can review. Of course we care about our business, but we care even more about doing what's next.

Customer Response • Nov 01, 2019

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)

Payment in full was required by AA upon COMPLETION of installation. Our Visa debit is dated Apr 10/2019. You may have this statement.According to them there was no further work to be done.
AA has never contacted us until they received this complaint from Revdex.com.All communications were initiated by us.
When we arrived back in Florida Oct 25th the unit was not working properly and their tech was unable to repair after 3 visits. He also mentioned the install would never pass inspection. At this point I reached out to the manufacturer who directed me to a more competent company.

AA Temperature Services Response • Nov 05, 2019

After installing the unit, we let the customer's know that we would need to come back for an inspection and pending the inspection, we would complete all work as recommended by the inspector and by our technician. We emailed the customer about this on 8/21 and on 9/18 - at which point they said that this would need to wait until November when they were back in town.

Separately, on 8/12 and on 9/22 they called us stating that their unit was not running. When we arrived in August, we reset the unit and it started running and was operating correctly, however, we mentioned that there may be a sensor that needed to be replaced, but since the customer was out of town, we said that we would wait to see if there were further issues with this since the unit was running properly. On 9/22 they called us out again stating that their AC was not working, however, when we arrived, we found the unit to be working and everything was working properly. The customer was not charged for these visits. Then when the customer arrived back in town, they called us and we went out for free from 10/25-10/27. On 10/25 we founf the thermostat not functioning correctly so we replaced it for free on 10/26. On 10/27 they called us again and we found another issue that needed to be addressed and that was a couple pressure switches were corroded and needed to be replaced. We were working with the supplier to get us these parts so we could continue to troubleshoot the unit and get it up and running.

Once the unit was up and running and the inspection passed and the install completely buttoned up, we were going to purchase their 10 year warranty so as to extend the warranty as long as possible for them. However, they were out of town until the end of October and we were not able to do it before they left - however, their unit was running and working the whole time aside from the one time we needed to go back out in August and reset the unit.

All of this is to show that we were taking care of this customer and getting to the bottom of the issues one problem at a time. The customer then decided to call another contractor and had them do the work. This contractor will now be warrantying her unit and is responsible for all further work for the customer.

We have reviewed the other contractor's work done, and based on their findings and work, which we would have done and completed if necessary, and assuming that everything they did was necessary (which we doubt since the contractor knew that the customer would believe and approve anything they told the customer) - but even so, if we give them the benefit of the doubt, we have found that all the work that was performed (which we would have performed if absolutely necessary) would have only costed us $300 to do and to complete (our cost).

Since the customer chose to have someone else complete even though we were the ones honoring their warranty, and were showing up everyday that they called to take care of any issues, we do not believe that we owe the customer any money since we would have taken care of this for free. However, in the essence of being fair, and since the work that we would have needed to completed has now been completed and since we no longer have to warranty their unit since they called out another contractor and received their warranty through them, we have discovered that we have saved a total of $300, and we are willing to pay the customer that $300 forthwith.

The other company decided to upcharge them for their labor (as any other business would by exaggerating the man hours needed to do the job and by upcharging on the labor cost), but we would have done the work for free. The customer chose to call someone else, and that is on them, not us. We responded to their every beckon and call and completely stood by our warranty and work the whole time. We will only compromise by covering the cost of what it would have costed us to do the work, which is $300, which technically we don't even have to do that as we were warrantying her work - yet they chose to call someone else - and that is on them.

Please let me know if you accept the $300 as resolution to this problem and we will issue the $300 refund to immediately.

Customer Response • Nov 09, 2019

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
After five service calls by AA with no resolution and no a/c naturally we lost all confidence in this company. *** came highly recommended by the supplier.
As to the disaster that was our installation I will let the photographs speak for themselves. See attached email.
Lastly, upon further research I have learned we were grossly overcharged...generally the cost for this model installed and inspected is $8500.to 9000.00
We paid over $12000.00 and an additional $1800.00 to correct the shoddy workmanship.
This was a rushed purchase on our part as we were trying to help an ailing parent back home.
Buyer beware.

AA Temperature Services Response • Nov 12, 2019

First and foremost, we do apologize for any poor craftmanship that occurred. We take that very seriously and have dismissed those installers. However, all that being said, we do clean up any and all messes that any installers make. The problem was that after installation and before we could come back to clean this up, the customers went out of town. The unit was running however when they were gone and the unit was working properly. We were waiting to fix these small issues and button up the install and schedule inspection until the customer returned. Upon the customer returning, they called us and we immediately came out. Each time we came out, we fixed some issues and didn't charge them at all. Customer chose to pay someone else come out to fix the issues that we were going to fix for free. We offered a compromise - even though it was their choice to call someone else when we were already handling it in an urgent and professional matter - to which they refused our offered remedy.

Customer Response • Nov 15, 2019

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
YOU hired the incompetent installers, they worked in our home under your company name. You entered our home twice in the summer without our presence
because we gave you the garage code and permission. You had access. You then gouged us on the price by a thousands of dollars. Is this how you treat senior citizens in Florida?
We will continue to file complaints with this and other agencies until all are aware of your methods of operation.

This company put our AC/heat pump units into all the homes in the subdivision.

Had a coupon for AC Tune up, called, made appt, while informing them of the coupon as instructed. They failed to let me know that this was not a complete check/testing/maintenance of the system. After several emails back and forth was informed that this was only "basic clean and check, not the full service" which would have been $95. Had I been informed would not have had it done by them. False advertising! Coupons are often offered here in FL in summer months. The focus of the tech was to "SELL", not service. Very unhappy because I will need to have the work done by a competent company.

Prior to placing this review I contacted the company in writing with several issues and numerous emails later, received the one liner stating "...not the full service".

AA Temperature Services Response • Sep 03, 2019

This customer contacted us about our $52 clean and check special, which was a promotion we were running in a mailer to have their unit cleaned and checked. The customer was not happy because we did not replace her filter. However, a filter is not included on these clean and checks. We never mentioned that they were included nor did we ever state on the offer or anywhere that the clean and check comes with a new filter - we simply said "clean" and "check". We never mislead this customer nor made any false representations about the work to be done. We did everything that was advertised and discussed.

However, all that aside, the clean and check was performed by a competent technician who did a thorough job and presented her with a full write up and summary of the condition of her unit.

Customer Response • Sep 04, 2019

Yes, in my original letter to them I "mentioned" the filter and the technician had stated that they were out of filters and would bring them by next week. I had him go ahead and use mine to replace since the unit is close to the ceiling in the garage. Finding out later that he lied about the filter was not the "big deal". The big deal was that from the coupon (and I still have it) it did not mention that it was an abbreviated service that did not include the compressor outside. It was raining and he did not do the normal checks of the compressor. Also he spent the little time he was there trying to sell me on a light for the air handler and/or a surge suppressor. The company I normally use does a full check of the system, flushes out the line from the air handler to the outside and takes an hour and only costs $30 more and does several pressure checks etc. on the compressor. Since I stated I had a coupon when I called, my entire frustration is that I was not informed of the abbreviated lack of service and the technician did lie to me regarding the filter, but at least I insisted he go ahead and put one in that I had. Coupons should not be put out there that require extensive questions prior to using and/or consumer should be informed up front which is the ISSUE here!

AA Temperature Services Response • Sep 06, 2019

As mentioned the coupon did not mention anywhere that a filter would be provided. We do not include those on our checks unless it is in tandem with an annual maintenance contract. The technician did not lie to the customer - he thought maybe the customer was a maintenance holder, which is what caused the confusion. The rest of the maintenance was performed as is required by the HVAC industry standards on a proper maintenance to ensure efficiency and safety as well as to count as a maintenance to keep the manufacturer's warranty valid. Unfortunately, coupons do not have enough room to state everything that is or is not done on them, but rest assured we did a proper job and an adequate job, and were in line with Nate and NCAAIS Standards of HVAC competence on maintenance. We do not appreciate and take very seriously these slanderous accusations.

Customer Response • Sep 06, 2019

Again, I did state when making the appointment that I was doing so with a $52 coupon and the very abbreviated "A/C Tune-Up" was not explained with the only detail on the coupon "must mention this offer at time of appointment". Everything I stated was true and can accept that the mechanic was confused. I am very glad that I asked him to put one of my filters in instead of finding out after I contacted the company that it was not to be included and brought by as promised. However it did rain quite hard when he headed out to the compressor and have had enough complete maintenance inspection/tune ups to know that that part cannot be done in a down pour. Further I am not in the practice of fling complaints and this is the first Revdex.com complaint I have ever filed in my life. I did that only because of the un-satisfactory back and forth with AA Temp by email first knowing and accepting that now I would have to get another full inspection/check to feel comfortable that everything that is "normally" done is done! I do not appreciate either the accusation of slanderous statements.
