AA TV Service

What a disaster this turned out to beI called for TV service back on Nov30, and the owner (?) Carmine ***came out promptlyNice grandfatherly fellow with decades of experience, it seemedHe diagnosed the problem, said it needed a "main board," which he didn't have on hand but would order from his California supplierHe called the supplier on the spot, got a price, and said it would arrive in a few daysBUT (FIRST RED FLAG) I would need to pay for it in advance ($371.84)I foolishly said okayWell, the part came in, but supposedly it was broken in shipment--and the reorder ran into a back logMore phone calls, more waitingI'll spare you the many interim details, but eventually after more than three weeks of promises and delays, I drove to his business and confronted him face-to-faceI said I wanted out of the whole situationCarmine got testy and refused to refund almost half of what I'd paidLesson learned: DO NOT TRY TO DO BUSINESS WITH THIS FIRM

I called AA to come out and look at a TV He said it would be $which would be taken off if the fixed the TV He came out gave me a quote and I said that would be fine He then ordered the part and had it put on his personal credit card (he said his business card was full) which was clearly a sign of low cash flow He then told me I would need to pay for the part of $today I told him I did not feel comfortable giving him $in advance of the job being completed I also pointed out that he had just put it on a credit card which he wouldn't have to pay for some time and he was going to do the job within a few days He said if I didn't give him money for the part he couldn't do the job I still had to pay the $service call I haven't ever done business that way I think it is a rip off for the consumer Buyer beware!
