Review: I got into an accident on sunday 03/**/2015. My car was pretty damaged. When the tow truck arrived he simpley hooked my car up and took it to there lot. When I got to the lot 20 minutes later, my car was locked in the yard. The driver was no where to be seen. I called the company and they said that there was no way that I can go and get my things from them till 8:30 am the next day when the office opens. I asked there representative on the phone if they wil charge me for the night my car will be locked in there without my consent. She replied that no charges will be added for storage since I will come back first thing in the morning. The next day, I went there and they billed me 495 dollars. The charges included, a tow charge of 125 dollars, 15 for fuel, 20 for the 4 miles, 50 for the site clean up, and 100 for winching/recovery And 70 dollars for storage at the rate of 35 a day. Now the problem is that they wrongfully charged me storage fees, that I was told were not going to be charged, since it was a Sunday and the office was closed. And not only did they charge me the storage fee, but they charged me for 2 days even though my car wasnt even there for 24 hours. The reciept also shows a rate of 35 a day with the total coming out to 70. The 50 for the cleanup they charged, was also absurd because there was no cleanup, he only hooked my car and left. So he had charged me an extra unreasonable 120. There customer service was also very mediocre. No one talked with respect, they did not pay any attention to us and were very rude.Desired Settlement: I want a refund of the extra 120 he charged.

Business

Response:

We are a 24 hour towing and impound facility for the Police Department. Our offices are closed on Sundays. Normal business hours are Monday through Friday 8am – 4pm and Saturday 9am – 2pm.We have an answering service during the hours we are closed only to take the calls for towing jobs, the service is not authorized to discuss any pricing or billing policy with anyone. The storage fees on a vehicle is done by a calendar day, not by hours, and storage is charged for every day whether the office is open or closed. The fee for clean up, if charged, is for sweeping the street and removing any debris from the accident scene such as parts fallen off from the cars involved . This is common practice of our business. The fees that are charged are by the Town Code from the Police Department. This particular incident the customer did not want to retain the vehicle because the damage was too extensive. The title was signed over to us so we could junk the vehicle. [redacted] signed off on the release of the vehicle, agreed to pay the amount of $250 and gave us the signed title authorizing us to junk the vehicle. There were no discrepancies when this transaction took place.

Review: On Friday July **, 2015 my car was involved in an accident and the police directed the car to be towed by aaaa 1 towing. When they arrived I inquired about the price and was told it was $5 a mile and they would tow my car to their yard and I could pick it up there. After my car was loaded on the truck and as it was being transported at approximately 5 PM on July ** I called aaaa 1 and was told they were closed until Monday and would not allow me to get my car back until then. On Monday I went to AAAA 1 towing to get my car and was surprised to see a sign in the office which I took a picture of which stated they were open until 7 PM. AAAA 1 claimed this was a four mile tow and charged me $445 dollars or approximately $110 a mile. They charged me for storage for 4 entire days even though they claimed they were closed and would not allow me to get my car. The $5 a mile quoted did not disclose the other charges on the bill $125 hook up, $75 yard fee, and $140 storage fee. They also included a $15 fuel surcharge fee even though we are experiencing the lowest fuel prices s in a decade and also a $35 accident scene clean up fee even though my car dis not have any leaking fluids, broken glass or car parts broken off it. I had to go in person take time off from work and pay this outrageous bill in cash!Desired Settlement: I believe the storage, fuel surcharge, site cleanup, yard fee and associated tax should be removed from this bill
