AAA Alarm & Security, Inc. Reviews (5)

I have been a customer at AAA Alarm for 6 years. My alarm system works off my home phone landline. About 6 months ago, I called to have my system upgraded to a wireless service. The secretary told me that I would receive a call back the next day for the upgrade. No one ever called. Recently AAA Alarm changed their monitoring service. Even though I have set off my alarm accidentally several times, NO ONE FROM THE MONITORING SERVICE HAS EVER CALLED ME OR THE POLICE DEPARTMENT. When I have had conversations with the monitoring company, representatives have been extremely RUDE. I called AAA Alarm and complained as well.

Never sign a contract with this company. Their contracts automatically renew and they will not let you out of the contract. Auto renew contracts have been banned in numerous states just because of situations like this. Because I am unhappy with the monitoring company and AAA Alarm, they will not allow me out of their contract. I am being forced to pay for 9 months of service that I will not use. I have already switched to another company. There's only one thing that I can say about this company.....avoid it.

+1

Been with this company 7+ years my phone company changed my phone line which effected my alarm???I call this in and I'm told they are going to charge me for them to fix it? Firstly if they know this is the issue then why am I getting a tech out... Secondly after 7 years with no issues and apparently I'm paid up to dec it's September now....they can't advise or fix this... So I m giving my notice and changing.....but in is economy they seem happy to just let me go....over something I have no control over...if I tore up my house n ripped off my monitor then yes I should pay to fix that... But this is just unfair and very poor customer service shame on them for taking my money all these years and the let me down when I do ask for something.....

This customer entered into a security monitoring contract With AAA Alarm & Security, Inc. (AAA) on September 21, 2011. The initial term of the contract was two years, and the contract renewed year to year thereafter. The following is the contract term and renewal language, in bold, capitalized...

letters.Subscriber agrees to subscribe to the Monitoring Service for the INITIAL TERM OF TWO (2) YEARS.  Subscriber’s agreement for Monitoring Service shall AUTOMATICALLY BE RENEWED FROM YEAR TO YEAR THEREAFTER UNLESS EITHER PARTY NOTIFIES THE OTHER PARTY OF TERMINATION, IN WRITING AT LEAST THIRTY (30) DAYS BEFORE EXPIRATION OF ANY TERM of the Monitoring Service Agreement.A cancellation notice was received from this customer on November 19, 2014. The balance due on the contract is $219.11, which represents nine months of unpaid monitoring. AAA is not being “underhanded,” as the customer suggests. All AAA customers agree to the same terms and conditions.  For the record, AAA representatives always ask potential customers if they are under a contractual obligation with another monitoring provider, before asking them to sign a contract with AAA. Thus, avoiding this situation where a customer is obligated to two contracts at the same time. Attached is the contract signed by this customer

Review: After many years as a customer with AAA in my old home, I moved to my current house over 3 years ago. I signed a two-year contract with AAA Alarm in Sept. 2011. I more than fulfilled this agreement. Fourteen months after the end of the contract, I decided to go with another company for a better product and less money. After calling to cancel, I was informed that in Sept., my contract automatically rolled over for another year and that I owe an additional $292.15 for service after I terminated. Since they bill in three-month increments, I am paid through Dec. 14th, 2014. There was never any mention of this contractual provision either verbally when I signed nor in any email advising me I had rolled over for another year. I feel this is completely underhanded and their way of squeezing me out of more money since they are angry that I left.Desired Settlement: Since I am paid through Dec. 14th, I would like AAA Alarm to cancel the outrageous charge of $292.15 for service that I don't want.
