Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the offer and/or response made by the business in reference to complaint ID 10806202, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. The September 23 response to Revdex.com from AAA Pools does not respond to the
issues of my complaint, and includes so few elements of truth that it actually
creates serious new issues for resolution.
My thanks to the Revdex.com for getting a
response from AAA Pools, which I have been unable to achieve since June despite
emails, a fax and a certified return receipt complaint letter to the owner Mr.
Shaver. Even speaking to Mr. Davis and Ms. Grant in the store, and also Ms.
Grant on the phone resulted only in promises of service calls that never were
kept.
I can only say that if I had read AAA Pools’ history of
complaints on the Revdex.com website before hiring the company, I would never have
trusted them to service our pool or be on our property. I realize Revdex.com can do
nothing more now that AAA Pools refuses to acknowledge the easily proven facts of my complaint.
Thanks for your efforts; we can only close this complaint as unresolved at the
Revdex.com level.

Mrs. [redacted] is correct regarding my service man being unable to open her pool on her original scheduled appointment date of 5/26. There was a miscommunication between our service man and the front office. Each had mistakenly thought the other had contacted her. Our process has been...

amended to ensure that never happens again. Unfortunately due to the abnormal amount. of rain that we had in May and unexpected repairs to other pools during opening, it resulted in service calls getting· backed up thus creating a delay with opening Mrs. [redacted] pool. After speaking with Mrs. [redacted] and realizing that the service man was unable to get to her pool the next day either, 1·contacted my service man and paid him overtime to go out to Mrs. [redacted] house on a Saturday to open her. poof. The service man arrived on Saturday and noticed that she had removed the pool cover. He added the proper chemicals and completed the pool opening for her. The standard rate to open a pool is $350.00 of which she paid $160.00. The cost is not broken out by work completed to open the pool (example: $50 to remove cover, $100 to add chemicals, etc.). It's a standard pool opening price. When she contacted my office manager to explain why she only paid half, the office manager did let her know tliat she would not charge her for the chemicals and would adjust the bill by $50.00 since she had removed the cover. Therefore making the pool opening bill $300.00 instead of $350.00. I apologize if my office manager came off rude when speaking with Mrs. [redacted], that certainly was not her intention. I am willing to work with Mrs. [redacted] and bring the pool opening call down to a standard service call of $200.00. This will adjust her amount owed from $140.00 to $40.90.

In response to Revdex.com Case #[redacted], AAA Pools received a phone call from Mrs. [redacted] on May 22, 2015...

and she stated that she wasn't planning on opening her pool this year because she was selling her house on a short sale , but decided to open her pool so her daughter could have a pool party. Shorty after she opened her pool, her pump quit working. I told her that we charged $75.00 for a service call, plus $125.00 per hour to work on her pool. I also told her on top of that charge that it would be $350.00 for a new motor and seal for her pump. She told me she didn't want to spend money on her pool because she had her house up for a short sale. I told her if she could remove the motor from the pump and bring it to our store that I would repair it for her and only charge her $350.00.  When she brought the motor in, I realized it was a [redacted] pump and we didn't have a motor in stock for replacement. I order her a new motor and seal and when it came in I repaired it and called her to come pick it up. Shortly after she picked it up, she called and said that it didn't work. I sent my service technical to her house and he called and said the pump was in pieces in her yard. I had him put it back together and after he put it together and re-installed it, the pump would not come on. We sent an electrician out to her house and he said the motor was defective from the factory. We had a new motor and seal next day aired to our office and again we re-installed the motor to the pump and took it to her house and re-installed it. When my service technical turned the pump on, he had no power at the pump. I told him to stay there and I called Mrs. [redacted] and told her we had no power at the pump. Mrs. [redacted] stated that she didn't have a power issue, I told her again that we just needed power at the pump and again she stated that she didn't have a power issue. I called my service technical and told him to leave the job. AAA Pools never touched Mrs [redacted] power source, we only connected the wires to the motor. AAA Pools did not charge Mrs. [redacted] for a service call, labor, electrician, or the next day air charge. We tried to resolve this matter and went above and beyond customer satisfaction to try to help Mrs. [redacted]. AAA Pools has done all we are going to do for this customer, as far as Mrs. [redacted] stating that "every customer she encountered at our shop is dissatisfied", I don't know where she is getting her information at, but we would not be in business for 45 years if all of our customers were dissatisfied. I called on Monday when Lynn tried to say that the person came out on Saturday and took the motor apart and it was fine that we had a power issue. When I told her my 21 year old son was here with the guy and could verify that in fact nothing was done but just looked at it and saw that it was hooked up correctly and left, she told me she couldn't talk to me any further until she talked to him. For the first and then the last the next phone call from her was the ONLY time she spoke to me decently. She said an electrician would be out that day. When he came out he at first said we had no power until he realized he hadnt turned on the breaker box at which time he got power to his voltage meter. He acknowledge that the motor was in fact a bad motor from the factory. He took it back to have a new one ordered. Once that one came in a new guy came out. This guy along with the last one asked my boyfriend how to hook it up. While the new guy was installing the latest motor he dropped it and broke it. He stated he would go to the shop and get a new one. No one came back. We always had to call to get updates and always made to feel like we were at fault. Once the last motor was in yet another person came out. This time was a young boy. He hooked the motor up and said it didn't work. Review: Scheduled a week in advance for pool openeing. First time having an in ground pool and wanted a professional to be sure we didnt have any problems because we were having people over for the holiday. Date appointment was for was thurs 5/26. Company never showed or called to notify us that they could not make it. I called the company and their office manager Lynn was extremely rude tried to make me feel bad that I was upset that they couldnt have called at the least. I asked for a owner was told they were unavailable. I got the owner Richard S[redacted] contact info. Called him on friday 5/27 and he confirmed with me that they would be there that day. 4:45pm and no one showed up I received a call close to 5pm from the service guy letting me know that he couldnt make it. 2 days in a row now. At this point I didnt think they would show up at all. I started to open the pool myself. When they actually showed up on the 3rd day I had already done half of the work. They were here maybe an hour. I gave the service guy half of the amount and asked to have the owner call me because he had not returned my call. They then sent me a bill for $50 more than the original ticket. I send a fax to them indicating why in dont agree and once again asking the owner to call me. Instead 21 days later I received a generic letter saying that it was a courtesy for them to deduct the $50 and that they dont offer al a carte opening services. I do not feel that we owe the full amount becase we did half of the work. They did not communicate professionally or the situation would have never occured and they would have had full payment the same day.Desired Settlement: To have the bill adjusted to reflect the actual work done and extreme lack of professionalism and communication. Also to receive no further communication from this particular company.

Review: Our 25,000 gallon in-ground pool had perfectly clear water and a very few leaves when AAA Pools came for a standard summer pool opening on April 23, 2015. This service routinely costs about $300-$350. AAA Pools stated the need to replace one piece of equipment after another. The pool became filthy after repeated delays that prevented normal filtration and vacuuming. In early July we hired a new pool service company to repair and clean up our pool after AAA Pools failed to ensure that installed equipment was functional; repeatedly failed to keep appointments; and failed to take responsibility for an avoidable mess that left a two-year old pool renovation permanently stained. Rather than AAA Pools admit that it was either incapable or unwilling to clean up the mess created by their negligence, AAA Pools kept us on the hook through May and June with telephone and face-to-face assurances of clean-up action, followed by repeated failures to keep service appointments. If AAA Pools had communicated it was dropping the job in June, the second pool service company could have corrected the bad work with much less effort, and the permanent damage to the pool could have prevented with simple, standard service. Instead AAA Pools ceased communicating, the pool became more and more filthy, and was not available for use until a new company completed clean-up in mid-August. The invoices from both AAA Pools and the second company that completed the job are fully documented, as is the invoice for the 2012 pool renovation. All pool photos and other documentation are available to the Revdex.com upon request, including our notes, our fax to AAA Pools on June 16, our emails to AAA Pools owner Mr. Shaver (at both his personal and business email addresses) of June 20, June 29 and July 8, as well as our comprehensive certified/return receipt letter of July 4, signed received on July 8 by AAA Pools employee [redacted].Desired Settlement: Total settlement proposal: $3,927This includes direct repair costs of $1427 for second pool company to repair and clean up after AAA Pools negligent damage; $2000 for permanent stain damages to a two-year old $13,945 pool renovation, and $500 for loss of property use for 120 days. If settlement is not concluded by certified check by September 25, we will file for more extensive compensation in Spotsylvania County Small Claims Court.

When we opened the pool on April 23,2015 ; we found it needed a new caretaker system, that the filter and pipes were leaking, it needed a new body o- ring. Also o'rings and springs were bad. We ordered the caretaker part on May the 6th. It was delivered to our store on May the 28th. Barry [redacted] installed it on June 1st, which was the soonest available time and that's when Barry to discovered another problem; it needed an impeller, diffuser and seal, as well as new grids for the DE filter. So we ordered all the parts, then later installed them installed them. Of which we have not yet been paid, nor for any work or parts placed on the system totaling $1259.87. {350.00 pool opening, $510.00 caretaker system, $10.00 installing savings of $190.00, o'ring 28.00, impeller $90.20, Diffuser 32.90, seal 24.55, 10 grids for DE Filer 196.00 tax 18.22. All of which has not been paid. It was Mr. [redacted] responsibility to add chemicals to the pool even if the motor is not working by moving water around with a brush. He replastered the pool, not the equipment. Keeping in mind, we were trying to make the pool equipment operational; AAA pools did the best we could, with the 20 year old equipment, and a none working system that Mr. [redacted] owns. We did what we said we would do. In addition this was the beginning the pool season. We were there as soon as time allowed. We constantly tried to please Mr. [redacted]. At any time, he could have cancelled using us, rather than complaining after the fact.

I have reviewed the offer and/or response made by the business in reference to complaint ID 10806202, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

Review: On May 22, 2015 I called AAA pools asking if they could replace the motor in my pool pump.Barry told me that I would be able to remove the pump myself (I am a female) without a problem and then bring it in. It was not easy as he made it seem and later we found out it wasn't the pump he thought I had even though I told him which one it was. Anyway, I brought it in the following day and was told they would have only been able to replace the motor that day if I had brought it in the previous day, now it was going to be a few days. I left my number and the pump. I didnt hear anything until I stopped by on Wednesday-was told they didn't have my number to tell me they didn't have that motor and wondered if I wanted them to order it for the same price quoted already. I told them yes.I was told it would be in by Friday. I was told by Lynn when I called Friday how ridiculous that was to think it would be in that soon. When it came in we installed it-it didn't work. I called right away explaining that perhaps it was a bad motor. Again I was told that was impossible we must be doing something wrong and did we want an electrician sent out. I did. However, she couldn't tell me when that would be. The first person that came out didn't take anything apart, basically looked at it and left. THat was a Saturday at 3:30 after we were told they would be there at 9:00am. Another electrician came after I called and was told they had taken it apart and found nothing wrong-which I informed them in fact nothing was done. That electrician determined in fact the motor was bad. He came a few days later with a new motor and broke it when installing. We had to tell him how to install it. Again we waited for new parts, heard nothing. I called again, parts were never ordered. Someone new came today still not working was told its our problem now. Must be a power issue, we didnt have a power issue before. Pump is not hooked up.They have never apologized for the inconvenience or offered anything.Desired Settlement: This company needs new employees or to be shut down. Every customer I have encountered at their shop is dissatisfied. I don't know how they are in business. They don't understand without customers you have no business. I have been more than patient. They knew my time crunch and said they could accommodate me. Today is 4 weeks and I have had to reschedule my daughters birthday party twice.

Response:

In response to Revdex.com Case #[redacted], AAA Pools received a phone call from Mrs. [redacted] on May 22, 2015 and she stated that she wasn't planning on opening her pool this year because she was selling her house on a short sale , but decided to open her pool so her daughter could have a pool party. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to contact us.Sincerely,[redacted], CPO, CBPAAA Pools5402 Plank Rd.Fredericksburg, Va 22407

I have reviewed the offer and/or response made by the business in reference to complaint ID 10678798, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

Almost everything in Barry's statement is inaccurate starting with the first time they came out and are saying the pump was in pieces all over the yard. After we tried hooking up the first pump with no luck we called to tell them the motor wasn't working. Lynn yelled at me and told me it has to be a power issue or we didn't hook it up correctly, it couldn't possibly be a bad pump that it has never happened since she worked there. They told us someone would be at the house at 9:00am. Someone came at 3:30 with a child and just looked at it and left-which was a Saturday. He left and now we have no working motor, pipes are not connected, the breaker box is apart, chlorinator isn't connected. We never had the same person come back and no one knew how to install the pump. They say they have gone above and beyond but I think it is obvious that isnt the case.
