AAA HVAC Services

Dear Sir/Madame, on May 4, 2017, two technicians of the AAA HVAC Services company came to my home at my invitation to assess an issue I was having with the HVAC Unit in my townhouse. The HVAC Unit was not producing any cold air and the technicians spent about 15 minutes inspecting the Unit before claiming that an Evaporator Coil within the Unit needed to be replaced in order to fix a Freon Leak.

The cost of the replacement was $1776.75, which I subsequently paid, since I was assured by the technicians that this would fix the Freon Leak in the HVAC Unit and that the Unit would be restored to a full and proper working order.

Another technician from the AAA HVAC came to my home on May 12, 2017 and performed the installation of the Evaporator Coil. The HVAC Unit appeared to be in working order for the rest of the summer of 2017. However, as I would later find out, the Unit only appeared to be working because of the introduction of new Freon into the system but the root cause of the leak was never addressed by AAA HVAC.

In mid April 2018, I turned on the Air Conditioning function on the HVAC Unit on a particularly warm day. After leaving the Unit on for several hours, I noticed that the thermometer on the Unit did not indicate that the house was being cooled.

I then contacted AAA HVAC and the same two technicians who had initially come to my home a year earlier arrived in my home to assess the issue with the Unit on May 3, 2018. They proceeded to load some Freon into the Unit, however, they refused to identify and fix the root cause of the Freon leak.

Therefore, on May 6, 2018, I filed a complaint to the Fairfax County Government's Consumer Affairs office and AAA HVAC subsequently agreed to refund $500 to me. However, it has been four weeks since the proprietor of AAA HVAC, Mr. Sean K, agreed to send me a check for the $500 and it is quite apparent by now that Mr. K has no intentions of living up to his word.
