Review: After viewing my kitchen on a free in-home estimate, Mr. [redacted] presented me with a written estimate in the amount of $16,850.00. He requested a $500 deposit which he misrepresented as a "design" deposit. He stated that in return for my deposit he would provide me with all designs of the proposed kitchen and would refund whatever amount was not used. He then visited my home with Mr. [redacted] and both Mr. [redacted] and Mr. [redacted] began to totally inflate the amount of work that needed to be done which was way in excess of the estimate I initially received and would result in thousands of extra dollars. Believing that they were attempting to totally "rip me off", I called Mr. [redacted] that same evening and said I wanted to cease all discussions regarding any work with him. I confirmed that cancellation by e-mail. In accordance with the terms of his deposit contractor and after repeated requests, I have never received any refund and the only "design" I received was a simple black & white sketch that looked like a child could have done it in about 5-10 minutes.I have since had my kitchen remodeled with an honest contractor who performed the work in an amount less than Mr. [redacted]s estimate, and it looks beautiful.Desired Settlement: My initial deposit of $500. to be refunded and that consumers be aware of Mr. [redacted]s tactics.
