Ms. [redacted] has her facts wrong.  First, I gave her a fair estimate.  Had she been uncomfortable with the estimate, she should not have gone forward with the work.  I do not estimate work based upon hours of labor alone.  It will include the type of work, the danger or complexity...

of the work among other things.  Ms. [redacted] referred to my men as illegal aliens.  I explained to her that being of [redacted] dissent, they were United States citizens.  Apparently she has racist tendencies from working with illegal aliens at the [redacted] Race Track.  Information she told me that I would rather not have heard from her.  It absolutely incenses me when people refer to my workers by their race.  They did their job.  I am sorry that they sometimes spoke in a different language than she wanted to hear. I did return once more after the job was completed to acid wash the repointing that we did on the brick.  Which is a very common circumstance that I undertook without issue.  Ms. [redacted]'s reference to two other items being completed is erroneous.  We did some additional repointing on her back foundation.  I offered to do one additional spot that she declined at the time.  The flashing issue that we discussed that I would look at was put on hold because she had subsequently hired a roofing contractor to do her roof. I am sorry that Ms. [redacted] was not happy with her contract.  The fact of the matter is that the repointing that we did was done correctly without issue.  She has apparently created issues in the aftermath because she was unhappy that men of [redacted] dissent worked on her property or that she somehow felt she overpaid for the work.   As a courtesy, I did give her a downward adjustment to her contract.  I am comfortable with the work that we did.  I am also comfortable that my original quote was a fair and reasonable one that she has already admitted to accepting.  Sincerely, Mark Ogden AAA Masonry  Revdex.com spoke to Mark and additionally the following was relayed: The flashing was not part of the job. We had discussed but she did not make up her mind and decided to have a roofing company do.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. After Mark repeatedly did not reply to me when he said he would, I hired another company to redo the steps. They did a great job with two steps.  I will be taking AAA Masonry to small claims court and hope to recoup my costs.

I clearly explained to [redacted] that her landing and steps had settled over the years.  The landing was pitched down and the vinyl siding even matched that pitch.  I encouraged her to add a third step which would have allowed me to create a better spacing for the steps and landing.  She...

refused to let me form and pour a third step.  Accordingly, I formed and poured the steps and landing as they were originally.  I also refurbished a wrought iron railing which was set in the concrete steps at the time of the pour.  It is simple math/geometry.  She has too much height from the door threshold to the sidewalk to have a proper step onto the landing and then two steps to the sidewalk.  Each step was close to 8".  I did not feel a higher step was appropriate.  I offered to resurface the landing to add some more height to the landing and lessen the slope.  However, that would make the rise inconsistent with the bottom step.  She did not pay me in full for this project as she said that some of the paint came off her side door and threshold.  I offered to repaint that even though it was quite clear that her door and trim where quite blistered and peeling prior to my work.  It is clear from looking at the siding that I matched the slope that existed prior to the work.  I would be happy to work with her to try and resolve the matter.  However, I will not tear out the steps and landing.  I formed and poured the steps as she requested.  Because she now thinks the pitch or slope is too great is not my responsibility.  She acknowledged that I did inform her of my intention to make it three steps so the rise and run were more consistent.  She balked at that recommendation and instructed me to pour them as two steps.  Finally, her statement that I am angry at her is without merit.  I want to complete all projects to the satisfaction of all of my clients.  Unfortunately I know that cannot always happen.  That is especially true where customers stray from the recommended process or insist on their controlling the project once we have begun.

Revdex.com spoke to Mark at business and requested a copy of the contract/invoice which business has provided. See attached.

This comes as a complete surprise. I remember putting this patio in. Other than minor touch up which was completed shortly after the patio was installed, I never heard from the customer again. If they had issues, why did they wait for three years to file a complaint with the Better Business...

Bureau without contacting me directly. I would be more than happy to take a look at the patio now to review their issues. However, it is beyond the warranty period and I wish they had contacted me immediately after the patio was completed.  As far as a lien, I was unaware of that.  I do know that I had a dispute with one of my concrete suppliers that is located outside of [redacted].  I was aware that they did try and file a lien on one property.  I was unaware of this one.   I do know that all concrete on this project was paid for in a timely manner.
