AAA McKinstry Personnel & Resume Service Reviews (8)

My experience with AAA McKinstry has been excellent I have used their services for many years and have recommended them to many of my friends and everyone has been so happy with the resultsI like the fact that they are not only local, you can meet in person, but they can support you when you leave this area I highly recommend this company

Revdex.com:I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear belowI continue to be amazed at the unprofessionalism of this companyNot only are they not telling the truth but also they sent only part of our email communication, which again is misleading Let me start off by saying I never expected AAA [redacted] to guarantee employmentHowever; I did expect them to deliver a resume within a week (as promised) that could be used to help me get a job through applying online I never even asked for help with my interviewsI strictly sought out their business to get their “help and expertise” on elevating my resume I never accepted the resume as is so [redacted] is not telling the truth againI told him as you will see in the email communication I attached, that once I cooled down I would review the resume and provide feedbackHowever, the email communication began to get worst with him so I felt I had no choice but to write a complaint on the Revdex.com, Federal Trade Commission and Attorney General [redacted] should not be surprised, as you will see I even sent him an email the day I filed my complaint to let him knowSo I am confused when he says I choose not to provide feedback, as you will see my communication illustrates that is not a true statement Since AAA [redacted] conveniently, did not send you all of the email communication that has been exchanged between the two of us, I have done so, please see attachedIn addition I have sent the first email sent on Monday February 15, for you to reviewPlease see attachmentsI also have sent you the original resume that was sent on February 15, 2016, which they did not include that you will see the spelling errors I have been speaking about There were major spelling errors that were not industry relatedWhich illustrates that this firm continues to not take accountability for their actions and lie to not only you but also their customers This company made more than two mistakesInstead of looking at the entire resume they just changed the two that I called out, even though I mentioned there were more See attached in my first email communication I sent on February 15, · “Canned Margo” should be Canned Mango · Can and jarred fruit, should be Canned and Jarred Fruit · [redacted] should be [redacted] (this was even on my previous resume) The fact of the matter is this company just sent me a resume they created; they did not proofread this at allThe fact that this company keeps bringing up the fact that I sent off a resume was without being proofread is null and voidI paid this company over $it is their job to proofread and correct spelling errorsMy resume even with solid content can get a call back; I was once in HR myself and know this to be trueThe real issue is that there were spelling errors that were NOT Industry related as [redacted] at AAA [redacted] is claimingThese errors were on the original resume sent to me on Monday February 15, 2015, which is included in my attachments Furthermore, the resume the content and formatting was not consistentWhy would a company bold two bullet points under one job and not keep it consistent throughout the resume??? I have never even seen that before and [redacted] in fact pointed out the importance of consistency in formatting during my consultation on 2/8/ In my meeting with [redacted] on February 8, he told me that three people would work on my resume and reviewI even met [redacted] that same dayHe told me on February 16th during a phone call that and I quote “We are human and we make mistakes” I could not believe this statement as when you pay someone $+ dollars and three people put their eyes on it, something as simple as “Canned Margo” is inexcusable as we learn how to spell our fruits in elementary school Not once did this company take accountability for their actionsInstead they continue to place blame on the customer (Me), which makes it very difficult to feel comfortable working with them in the future, the communication has felt a bit hostile This whole situation could have been different if they apologized, admitted to their mistake, and agreed to refund half of the money with promises to fix the resume, but this is not what they have done at allThey have not taken any accountability for their actions and have not tried to refund back any of the money I paid for Instead, they have leaned on the fact that I signed a non-refundable agreement, which was signed based on what was told and promised and never deliveredAs if you read their website and what they do, they promised to deliver great resumes since they been around so longHowever the resume they sent me was nowhere near what they promisedIn fact, on a call with [redacted] on 2/16/while on speaker phone my Grandma and I both heard him admit that he did not explain the whole proofing process to meWhich whose fault is that? Either way spelling errors with a professional resume writing company is beyond any excuse anyone can provideThe least of my worry as a customer should be on spelling errors I have had another resume expert look at this and agreed that this resume did not meet industry standardsIn addition; I have had an English teacher review and she too could not believe the product that was provided If content was an issue, that would be something we can work towards, but why should I ever have to worry about simple grammatical errors when they are a “professional” resume company that has been around since 1952, you would think they would know better to spell check resumes and have their three people proof read them as promised Bottom line is I was changed $682.40, for a resume that is not up to par and had spelling errors that were not industry related to this company AAA [redacted] that is suppose to help people create professional resumesDespite what kind of job they think they did, I am customer, and I have not been pleased at all Good customer service would have provided numerous possible resolutions to this matter and instead this company has taken no accountabilityThey have yet to offer to refund any of my money on a resume that for I paid $(this price is far above industry pricing) Lastly that I I know for a fact this resume was not proofread by peopleIf so, “Canned Margo” would have been caughtThe person creating this resume just typed and kept going, as you will see the sentence does not even go with a “Canned Margo” (whatever that is)So once again I was lied to and take advantage of, and I am still upset about it What would you even need to pay anyone for spelling errors? That was not even an issue on my previous resume prior to meeting with them on February 8th (as you will see the two versions I provided to [redacted] and ***) Any one especially a company that has been around since should know that spelling errors on a resume are a joke to any employerThey will not even read a resume with spelling errors It is for all of the reasons mentioned above and the evidence attached that I strongly feel a full refund needs to be provided Regards, [redacted]

list-style-type: none;">The client’s [redacted] card declined her request for a refund after AAA [redacted] submitted her resume for their perusal. In my contacting the State of California, after we submitted her resume, the State mentioned that I might not hear from the State again. The Revdex.com e-mailed our response to the client and so did the State of California. Also [redacted] offered her and us an arbitration to resolve this complaint. We were willing to arbitrate this issue, but our client refused the arbitration.

How arbitration works is that the losing party would have to pay $500.00. Plus, should AAA [redacted] lose the arbitration we would have to refund the client’s resume price and pay $500.00 to [redacted]. Since we strongly believe that the resume was excellent, we were willing to take this action as to refunding and paying $500.00 to [redacted]. Obviously our client, who was very emotional and went overboard in her complaint, was not willing to take the risk. We believe that speaks for itself. Our client has a superb resume in her possession.
We strongly dispute this client's claim that our services were not as described. This client came to our office on February 8, 2016 to inquire about our professional resume services. We spent considerable time explaining in detail AAA [redacted]'s services, the various steps and processes in creating a resume. We showed to her multiple resume samples, styles, formats and quoted pricing for each one. During this free consultation session, we always point out to our clients that we cannot guarantee job placement as we have no control over employer's selection criteria or our clients' performance during job interviews or any other job searching activities.
This client fully understood these conditions and purchased a 2 page professional model and signed a nonrefundable contract (attached). As agreed, we produced the initial draft in a professional and timely manner. As is our standard practice, we email our clients and recommend them to review the resume and make any changes or corrections before we finalize the resume. We misspelled two industry specific words, which we corrected immediately. During our final proofing (before printing) we would have caught any errors. This client did not provide us any feedback and took it upon herself to accept the resume as is. We carry eight different levels of resumes beginning with $50.00 for a very basic approach up to $1,200.00 for executives commanding a few hundred thousand or seven figure incomes. All levels of resumes are priced differently.
Client *. does admit in one of her e-mails that she did not proofread the resume but went ahead and forwarded the resume to an employer. We do not recommend this practice and we have never had a client not proofread his/her resume before sending the resume to employers.
Ms. *. claims that due to grammatical and spelling errors she lost out on this particular job opportunity and blames that result on AAA [redacted]'s resume service and is therefore entitled to a full refund.
As explained above, AAA [redacted] does not guarantee job placement. We provide the strongest and highest quality of resumes. Any corrections/updates/rewrites are included in our services at no charge. We accommodated her requirements and updated her resume accordingly. Currently Ms. *. has an error free resume in her possession.
We have advised and encouraged Ms. *. to contact our office if she is still not happy with the product. We will take care of any of her requirements until she is fully satisfied.
AAA [redacted] has been in business since 1952 and we stand behind our services. We have had up to 99% of our clients satisfied over the years. We have earned a Revdex.com A+ rating and encourage you to read our reviews on [redacted], and testimonials on our website. We will do whatever it takes to satisfy our clients. We wouldn't be able to be in business this long if we didn't support our clients.

Revdex.com:I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
I continue to be amazed at the unprofessionalism of this company. Not only are they not telling the truth but also they sent only part of our email communication, which again is misleading.

Let me start off by saying I never expected AAA [redacted] to guarantee employment. However; I did expect them to deliver a resume within a week (as promised) that could be used to help me get a job through applying online.  I never even asked for help with my interviews. I strictly sought out their business to get their “help and expertise” on elevating my resume.

I never accepted the resume as is so [redacted] is not telling the truth again. I told him as you will see in the email communication I attached, that once I cooled down I would review the resume and provide feedback. However, the email communication began to get worst with him so I felt I had no choice but to write a complaint on the Revdex.com, Federal Trade Commission and Attorney General. [redacted] should not be surprised, as you will see I even sent him an email the day I filed my complaint to let him know. So I am confused when he says I choose not to provide feedback, as you will see my communication illustrates that is not a true statement.

Since AAA [redacted] conveniently, did not send you all of the email communication that has been exchanged between the two of us, I have done so, please see attached. In addition I have sent the first email sent on Monday February 15, 2016 for you to review. Please see attachments. I also have sent you the original resume that was sent on February 15, 2016, which they did not include that you will see the spelling errors I have been speaking about.

There were major spelling errors that were not industry related. Which illustrates that this firm continues to not take accountability for their actions and lie to not only you but also their customers.

This company made more than two mistakes. Instead of looking at the entire resume they just changed the two that I called out, even though I mentioned there were more…. See attached in my first email communication I sent on February 15, 2016.

·      “Canned Margo” should be Canned Mango
·      Can and jarred fruit, should be Canned and Jarred Fruit
·      [redacted] should be [redacted] (this was even on my previous resume)
The fact of the matter is this company just sent me a resume they created; they did not proofread this at all.
The fact that this company keeps bringing up the fact that I sent off a resume was without being proofread is null and void. I paid this company over $682.40 it is their job to proofread and correct spelling errors. My resume even with solid content can get a call back; I was once in HR myself and know this to be true. The real issue is that there were spelling errors that were NOT Industry related as [redacted] at AAA [redacted] is claiming. These errors were on the original resume sent to me on Monday February 15, 2015, which is included in my attachments.

Furthermore, the resume the content and formatting was not consistent. Why would a company bold two bullet points under one job and not keep it consistent throughout the resume??? I have never even seen that before and [redacted] in fact pointed out the importance of consistency in formatting during my consultation on 2/8/16.

In my meeting with [redacted] on February 8, 2016 he told me that three people would work on my resume and review. I even met [redacted] that same day. He told me on February 16th during a phone call that and I quote “We are human and we make mistakes”.  I could not believe this statement as when you pay someone $600 + dollars and three people put their eyes on it, something as simple as “Canned Margo” is inexcusable as we learn how to spell our fruits in elementary school.

Not once did this company take accountability for their actions. Instead they continue to place blame on the customer (Me), which makes it very difficult to feel comfortable working with them in the future, the communication has felt a bit hostile.

This whole situation could have been different if they apologized, admitted to their mistake, and agreed to refund half of the money with promises to fix the resume, but this is not what they have done at all. They have not taken any accountability for their actions and have not tried to refund back any of the money I paid for.

Instead, they have leaned on the fact that I signed a non-refundable agreement, which was signed based on what was told and promised and never delivered. As if you read their website and what they do, they promised to deliver great resumes since they been around so long. However the resume they sent me was nowhere near what they promised. In fact, on a call with [redacted] on 2/16/16 while on speaker phone my Grandma and I both heard him admit that he did not explain the whole proofing process to me. Which whose fault is that? Either way spelling errors with a professional resume writing company is beyond any excuse anyone can provide. The least of my worry as a customer should be on spelling errors.

I have had another resume expert look at this and agreed that this resume did not meet industry standards. In addition; I have had an English teacher review and she too could not believe the product that was provided.

If content was an issue, that would be something we can work towards, but why should I ever have to worry about simple grammatical errors when they are a “professional” resume company that has been around since 1952, you would think they would know better to spell check resumes and have their three people proof read them as promised.

Bottom line is I was changed $682.40, for a resume that is not up to par and had spelling errors that were not industry related to this company AAA [redacted] that is suppose to help people create professional resumes. Despite what kind of job they think they did, I am customer, and I have not been pleased at all.

Good customer service would have provided numerous possible resolutions to this matter and instead this company has taken no accountability. They have yet to offer to refund any of my money on a resume that for I paid $682.40 (this price is far above industry pricing).  Lastly that I I know for a fact this resume was not proofread by 3 people. If so, “Canned Margo” would have been caught. The person creating this resume just typed and kept going, as you will see the sentence does not even go with a “Canned Margo” (whatever that is). So once again I was lied to and take advantage of, and I am still upset about it.

What would you even need to pay anyone for spelling errors? That was not even an issue on my previous resume prior to meeting with them on February 8th (as you will see the two versions I provided to [redacted] and [redacted]).

Any one especially a company that has been around since 1952 should know that spelling errors on a resume are a joke to any employer. They will not even read a resume with spelling errors.

It is for all of the reasons mentioned above and the evidence attached that I strongly feel a full refund needs to be provided.

My experience with AAA McKinstry has been excellent. I have used their services for many years and have recommended them to many of my friends and everyone has been so happy with the results. I like the fact that they are not only local, you can meet in person, but they can support you when you leave this area. I highly recommend this company.

Review: I went to this company for help with elevating my resume. I was told that three people worked on resume and that the first draft would be sent a week later.

The draft arrived with a note about the updates made on content and further instructions on next steps. However, the product that was sent had spelling and grammatical errors, which is unacceptable for the huge price paid for this type of service.

I sent the draft to a friend to refer me to a job and also sent it to a career coach to look at to provide feedback. The feedback was very embarrassing.

It was my understanding that any changes I wanted made to the content would be something I could work with them(AAA McKinstry) on updating and correcting. However; the fact that this resume had grammatical and most importantly spelling errors is inexcusable. Especially when paying the large amount of money for a professional business such as AAA McKinstry to produce a professional product that guarantees customer satisfaction.

I immediately let the company know that I was not pleased at all with the result and instead of offering to refund me my money or even a portion of it, they said they could work to help me fix it since I signed a non-refundable agreement. But this agreement was signed on their guarantee that the product would professionally and correctly done.

This mistake cost me an interview and I am not happy at all with how this situation has and is being handled.Desired Settlement: A full refund of money.
