Review: Our delivery date range was July 3-14. It is now July 17 with no driver available to take our move to [redacted], Tn. Our furniture and clothes are in the [redacted] warehouse with no driver available. Despite being on the "hot list" and considering taking our belongings down in containers, they still cannot move on getting us our belongings.Desired Settlement: My family cannot live in an empty house. The expenses are too much. Please ship our belongings down now. Not a day longer. Please have Pat L[redacted] the COO of [redacted] Transit involved personally to get our belongings out us immediately. I have no doubt if I was related to his family,I would not be writing this complaint.

Review: I contracted with AAA Moving & storage to move my furniture from their warehouse in PA to my home in NC. The furniture was delivered November 8th, minus 2 matching sets of bookcases. Both have door storage at the bottom and open shelving at the top. They measure approximately 36 W X I6D X 72 H. Units are solid Oak, stained w/dark stain. Both sets of shelf inserts were received. On 11/9 I sent [redacted] Werkheiser at AAA Moving an mail stating the bookcases were missing. He emailed back and said one bookcase had been found and they would look for the other. We spoke on 11/21/13 and [redacted] confirmed the second bookcase had not been located. He said at the time the entire warehouse had been searched and he did not hold much hope that the other bookcase would be found. He said arrangements would be made to ship the bookcase that was located, to me. I have not received that bookcase. He also mentioned that a price would have to be worked out for replacing the missing bookcase that matched the one that was found. Per the contract that was signed by AAA Moving and myself, I opted for the full value replacement option. I contacted a local cabinet maker for a quote to make a replacement bookcase as they are a matching set. The quote I received was for $2311 to make a matching replacement. On 12/3 I tried twice to contact [redacted]. Both times I was told he was on a conference call. Both times I left a voice mail neither call was returned. As of today 12/6 I still have not heard from anyone at AAA Moving regarding the shipment of the bookcase that was found nor what they intend to do about the missing bookcase.Desired Settlement: Since I have a contract with AAA Moving and Storage, I would like them to fulfill the contract. I would like them to act responsibly and notify me as to when they will ship the bookcase that they have in their warehouse to me. I also request they reimburse me the full value to have a replacement bookcase made that would match the existing bookcase as they were a matched set. It would be appreciated if someone from AAA Moving and Storage would act professionally and contact me to discuss.

Response:

Our inventories only show one bookcase received. I believe the customer was traveling so we couldn't get together on delivery times for her cabinet that is still in the warehouse. We will reach out to try to make delivery happen.

Review: am writing to you today to share with you a recent experience I had with your moving company.

Steven P[redacted], [redacted] move date 6/24/2014. Estimated time 8 hours, 1 truck 1 day 4 guys – 4 miles. We had 2 estimates done for our move; both were around the same time & dollar amount and man power amount. The only difference was the other said they would need two trips or two trucks, which was included in with the time estimate. I questioned the difference at the time of your estimate since your estimate was 2nd and was told “we will do whatever is necessary and what I want”. We went with your company based on a reference from a friend.

First let me say that the gentlemen that came were very polite and hard working individuals.

We were promised a 4 man team. When the team arrived it consisted of only 3 people. Because of that my husband became your 4th man. I am sure your team will support that comment. My husband dismantled items, loaded items and on loaded items. We went with hiring a moving company because I did not want my husband, who has had 3 back surgeries, doing the work. As the day went on he had to help out more and more. One of the first issues was as they were loading the truck; it became apparent that a second trip may be necessary. When my husband questioned that he was told we will make it fit. So in order to do that began to really dismantle items to pack everything in the truck. For example even though my husband dismantled my son’s bed, they felt the need to break it down more in places that weren’t suppose to be broken down basically ruining the bed. Hunks of wood were broken off around the screw holes. My son’s dresser was scrapped up and my couches arms are lose.

However, the above is not the main issue I am writing about. The amount of articles that were left in my old home to move was unbelievable. Once the truck was filled they filled my husband’s pick up as well and said they had to leave for the new home. Thinking that they would be making another trip my husband went to our new home. Let me remind you now that my husband was helping unload the truck since only 3 men had came. As I said earlier the men were very polite and hard working. All along we thought they would be returning for another load, which is one of the reasons my husband was helping to make time for another trip. When they finished unloading, and they were getting ready to leave I inquired about the remaining items. Basically, they all looked at each other and said they were done. The one gentleman was on the phone about their next job for the next day. My husband and father in law were left to put the refrigerator, beds, tables etc back together. During the estimate I did inquire about all that and he explained they would be taking care of it. I would just be paying for the time which I understood and I agreed to and went into this knowing that we would be paying for the time. The job was rushed and the items were just placed where ever convenient in the room. My biggest complaint would be the items left in my old home that my husband and father in law had to move. I am talking 7 pickup trucks loaded with boxed items, marked as to where they were to be placed. It basically was the entire basement of the home which was included in the first section of the estimate to include the refrigerator. When they were getting ready to leave, I questioned where the 2nd fridge is, I was told it didn’t fit and it’s at the house. Everything was marked. In fact the basement was the first room packed and labeled because we had to empty the above floors to stage the house for selling purposes. The other moving company we had come prior to your estimate would be able to vouch for it – like I said your estimates where very close only dollars off.

Basically, how I feel is that the movers are instructed to get in under the estimate so that the customer feels good that they are getting a little refund since the estimates are always done on the high side. Too many corners were cut on this job. Knowing my husband’s condition I stressed I wasn’t concerned if I went over or if I got a refund. I am thankful that I did not close on both houses on the same day that we gave our self 3 extra days to move from the old house. We needed it to get the items out of the house. SEVEN TRUCK LOADS.

I cannot believe this happened and the amount of items left in the house. I did make a call that evening to your office and left a message regarding screws to a mirror that were missing as well as that I wanted to speak to someone. As of today’s date the call was not returned. I assumed the movers were informing you of what occurred, until I saw the partial refund and realized nothing must have been conveyed to you that an entire floor was left.

I believe we are entitled to some sort of compensation for the extra time and inconvenience. Please email me with your thoughts on this matter. I would hate to file a complaint with the Revdex.com for something that can be resolved between us.

Thank you for your time. Again, I am not blaming the hard working men that arrived. I am blaming the team being short one man and not the willingness to return for a second trip.
