AAA New Jersey Automobile Club Reviews (6)

Good morning, Ms. [redacted] did receive a road service call on 08/13/2016 call [redacted] (attached) and had her battery replaced by AAA Contractor/[redacted]s Towing.  The results from the battery test the driver did on this service call are in the call record and shows "Test Fail", meaning...

the battery was not good and needed replacement.  Second, we are unable to retrieve that battery as member decided not to keep the vehicle. Member was not charged for the service call on 08/13/2016 but we will still issue a full credit of $93.00 and cancel the membership at members request.  Unfortunatley we cannot accomodate the members request of refunding the member the additional $143.38 for what she paid for the AAA Battery. Please close this case, thank you.

Review: Our travel consultant ([redacted] from AAA) told us she ordered us the [redacted] Memory Maker package priced at $160. Hours before leaving for our trip to [redacted] I learned that we [redacted]. I have tried several times to resolve this issue with AAA, and at this point I am not receiving any call backs from the manager, [redacted]. Unacceptable, Unorganized and unprofessional.Desired Settlement: I wish to receive a check for $30 from AAA.

Per [redacted] of the AAA Travel Dept., Florham Park, she has put through a reimbursment request to our Acct Dept. on 08/31/2015 in the amount of $30.00, [redacted] should receive that check within 10 business days. Please let us know if we could be of further assistance in this matter. Thank you.

Regards,

Review: My son's car broke down and we called AAA, where we are a member. The car was towed to a gas station in the area of the breakdown. The gas station said they would call before any repairs were made. They quoted my son $1400. for the repair. We called our local station and was told they would charge $700 for the same repair and for $100 would go (the 20 miles) and get the car. The towing company told my son he would have to pay $85 to release the car. AAA says that it's not their problem. I called repeatedly and have still not talked to a member service representative. AAA should tell customers that if they do not use the service station they are towed to they will be charged. It is unethical and false advertising. In effect I paid for the towing!Desired Settlement: I want the $85 fee refunded.

Review: Joined AAA on [redacted]/2013 as a Basic Member. Details showed that an upgrade level of membership can be done after 7 days of receiving membership card for an additional fee, which I was willing to pay. When I called for upgrade, they told me that they were brought out and this is no longer an option. I was very disappointed and requested a full refund of my $70.00 annual membership. On [redacted]/2013, I received a credit of $38.92 of my $70.00. When I called to find out why I only received this amount of credit, they told me that there was a $15.00 cancellation fee. I asked why would you charge me a $15.00 cancellation fee when AAA did not live up to their obligation of allowing me to upgrade my membership. He told me: "Well if you read the FINE print, there is a $15.00 cancellation fee applied". I have no problem paying for the 2 months of service I did have which comes out to $5.83/month.Desired Settlement: Refund the $15.00 cancellation fee since AAA did not live up to their membership upgrade and only charge me 2 months of service. Total refund due: $58.34. Already received $38.92 refund so owed a total of $19.42

Review: My complaint with AAA is that I was in an accident in NJ. My car was towed to [redacted], my son and I were stuck in the middle of “no where”. No idea where we were located. I called AAA and with a promise of help and finally good luck. A man who works at DD came to help us.Desired Settlement: To see no one else is dropped off by themselves. Triple A should make sure you are all set to go on your way, not 25 miles to hotel with no way there. No one should go through what I went thru.

Good Afternoon,

I’ve attached two AAA MidAtlantic Call Details for Mr. [redacted]

[redacted]. AAA MidAtlantic towed Mr. [redacted]’s

Mr. [redacted] called AAA again and told the Call Counselor he

needed to rent a car. The closest Hertz

company that she could locate was at Newark Airport, approx. 25 miles from

where Mr. [redacted] was located. The CC

called Hertz and made a reservation for him.

Mr. [redacted] told the CC that he did not have money for taxi service to

Newark Airport. Unfortunately AAA does

not provide nor pay for transportation , it is the member’s responsibility to

pay for a taxi/car service.

Review: the New Jersey Automotive club ensures that if u have a membership they will tow your vehicle or a vehicle you are a passenger in. On 12/3/13 I was driving in a friends car and they crashed. I signed up for AAA and they made me pay extra to use the membership the same day. I paid all of their fees, I waited over 5 hours for the service to come. The tow truck driver showed up after 5 hours, and then proceeded to tell me he could not tow the vehicle even though I was an AAA member. Since waiting for so long the owner of the vehicle left and went to work and left me in charge with all necessary documents AAA club says are needed to ensure the vehicle is towed. The driver proceeded to tell me he would not tow the vehicle unless I paid him four hundred dollars cash, otherwise he was not towing it. He did not care that I had all the right documentation he just wanted the cash!! This is a BAIT-SWITCH company. I have many family members and friends that I referred to sign up for AAA and will tell them all to cancel and never renew such a terrible, scam service.!Desired Settlement: I want refund for this terrible service,

Good Afternoon,

I just spoke with [redacted] and apologized for the poor roadside service experience. I've asked him to send me the towing receipt for reimbursement consideration, he has agreed. He's asked me to email him at [redacted] to give him my contact information. I sent him an email today, Thursday, 12/19/2013. I asked him if he preferred that I cancel him membership and issue him a full refund, but he said he preferred to keep the membership once I told him I'd review what he had to pay for independent service. We are working with member to his satisfaction. Thank you.
