Painting project never done. $500 deposit not returned.I gave [redacted] a $500 deposit for interior painting project in my home. This was to include painting a 2-story foyer, 2nd floor hallway, small bedroom and 1st floor powder room. Also included was all trim and ceilings for a final cost of $1100. I informed him that my house was being put on the market and it need ed to be done in a timely manner. We agreed that the first rainy day that he had he would start the project and continue until completion. Weeks went by and a couply rainy days and no calls from [redacted]. I called several times and finally received a call back. I urged him to come take care of the project because I was waiting to put my house on the market. I was told that he was going to finish a project the next day and he would then take care of my house next. He would know by 12:30 the next day if he would finish his current project. He would call me and let me know if he would be starting my house and if he couldn't be there he would return my deposit. I have not heard from him again and that was over 2 weeks ago. I have tried to call him several times but he has not returned my phone calls.I had to find another painter on short notice which was very difficult. I paid $2100 for the project (plus the $500 deposit I lost) and my house is finally being listed this week.Desired SettlementI would like to get my deposit back.Consumer Response After the complaint had been closed, the contractor contacted me directly and has refunded my $500 deposit.
