STAY AWAY! We hired a cab at FLL on a Thursday mid morning. The trip was to Boca Raton -- should have been $60 at the most. When we arrived, we gave the driver our credit card, and even signed for the charge. The charge was over $100. Then the driver ([redacted] --- driver 600)) stated that the credit card machine was not working, and he needed cash. All we had was $90, which he gladly accepted. We needed a receipt for reimbursement purposes, which he provided.

Imagine our surprise when we found the original charge had gone through! Multiple calls to the cab company and the driver eventually resulted in a refusal to return the cash or VOID the charge. (I think the driver and owner had a disagreement.) It was difficult to get a return call, and the owner called twice and refused to leave a voice message.

Had we not asked for a receipt, or checked our credit card charges immediately, we could have been charged $190 for the trip.

I have protested the original charge with my credit card company.
