Unfortunately, Mrs *** has very old tanks that even though they were visually inspected appear to have some internal rust in the cylinders that would be impossible for any technician to determine in the fieldThe technician that arrived determine the problem was one of these very old tanks had
a spot that rusted through the exterior of her cylinders
We have advised Mrs *** on multiple occasions without charge and every time after hours that her system was in violation of building codes and that she needed to bring her system up to codeAt the time of this incident we had been out previously a few weeks before, at no charge to Mrs ***, which customarily is a minimum $charge we once again advised her the system was not properWe believe this complaint has been generated because after this incident we have determined that with her old tanks and illegal system we would no longer be able to provide propane service to her and her houseWe understand that we are by far the most affordable service there is as well as we are aware that by our company not servicing the account it will inevitable add additional major expenses to Mrs ***.
While we can not be responsible for the gas in a customer owned tank, which clearly Mrs ***s, are as they are much older than anything our company has or would ever provide, we tried to rectify this situation by advising her that once the system at her house was legal and safe we would at a nominal annual fee provide her with a safe clean and new cylinder for her homeWhile that might not seem enough we have advised her free of charge on multiple occasions that her tanks and system we old illegal and while we could find no leaks they were at best very questionable
Again I will reiterate we have made several after hour trips to Mrs ***s house which is very far off the beaten path and a great deal of expense to our company and at no charge to Mrs ***I advised her in the weeks prior to this incident that she would be responsible to pay for a service call if she should so need an after hours call again, however for safety reasons we once again sent at no charge to her, a service technician to her home to determine if there was an issueThe only difference is this service technician, one which had never been to her home previously, determined tht the system was to dangerous and unsafe to be serviced by our company. We would be happy to recommend several companies local to her area that can safely, legal bring her system up to code and safety standards at which time we can provide her a legal safe tank at a nominal fee to use at her home
Unfortunately it is our policy, industry policy and just common sense that our company can not be responsible for equipment that is not company ownedWe have tried very hard to provide great service at a reasonable price for the last several years to Mrs*** and would be happy to do so once again when her systems are safe and legal, in an attempt to extend an olive branch and to help make her feel better once the system is safe and legal, we will once again come out and perform a safety check free of charge and additionally give her 10% her first purchase of fuel once the system is determined safe and legal
As a caveat Mrs *** has never contacted our office or made a complaint to our company about service or wanting a refund!

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. Regards,
*** *** I am rejecting because the work done was not to the contractFirst off like I said I DID NOT SIGN OFF on forms before concrete was pouredBackfilling and grading WAS NOT COMPLETE before concrete was pouredThe day of grading which was a Friday they ran out of gravel and did not finish the grading and packing down of gravelThey left and I was never contacted when they would returnAfter hearing nothing all weekend I called *** on Monday around 10am he told me they were pouring concreteI left work arrived home and the forms were wrong, even the guy pouring the concrete knew they were wrong but said he was doing what he was told to do by ***And the slab inside garage was finished without the slope from back to front for water to drain outAnd I payed for level floor and there are low spots throughout the garageSince the backfill was not complete it took more yards of concrete to complete the job, not my fault and should not be and argument from Spartan Paving about extra cost involved like *** mentioned two days afterWhich he did not meet me at job site to discuss my concernsI had to leave work yet again and meet him off hwy If we go strictly by the contract and not word of mouth between *** and myself, Expansion joints were NOT sawed 10x10, 100sq.ft., which would of helped prevent cracking per ***And I payed for gravel to be compacted underneath ALL concrete, this is not what I gotThe driveway section has no gravel underneath due to them running out and not finishing the grading before concrete was pouredAnd besides just contractual issues, let me mention the use of my personnel equipment (skid steer) by Spartan Paving WITHOUT my consent$30,piece of equipment used and left with concrete all over it, which causes major damage to hydraulic cylinders and seals! This whole ordeal was handled very unprofessionally and company did not follow there own contract*** said multiple times that I would sign off on forms BEFORE any concrete was poured, was NOT the caseContract was not followed, sqftsaw joints, gravel poured and compacted underneath ALL concrete, and slab to slope back to front for water drainWhen I upload contract to computer I will attach the file for ALL parties can viewIf *** is saying contract was followed, sorry but it was notAnd *** and I discussed the final price of what was owed and expressed my feelings of the contract not being followed and the fact of my personnel equipment usedHe argued that the job took my concrete than quoted and he couldn't work with me on pricing because of that reasonAgain that was not my fault, and that doesn't help me get what I paid forI was not going to argue with him and I pay my debts when owed, so at the completion of the job I wrote him the check to pay for services

Please find attached my response to the complaint filed by Mr. David Blake.

We spoke with Mr. [redacted] on Friday, May 15,  and have  mailed (May 16, 2015) a check to him for the balance of the compensation he requested.
Thank you for your assistance.

[redacted]
I had another of our estimators come by [redacted] earlier this week to look at your drive.
He took pictures also which I have forwarded to [redacted] (my son) so that he could review the concerns you mentioned.
From...

the pictures, it  appears that the base (ground prepared prior to our paving) has sunk in an area or two and the compromised base has caused the damage (alligatoring) to the asphalt in those areas.
We will address the problem and probably cap the full area after excavating and leveling the two sunken areas.
The cap will also address any small cracks. (The drive area will need to be dry for the work to be done.)
I'm attaching asphalt information that you may already be aware of, but it is helpful customer info on asphalt maintenance and characteristics.  If you have any questions about the information, please let me know.
As I mentioned when we talked week before last ([redacted] in hospital for surgery), the heavy rain in our area has put us behind schedule.  However, we will schedule your repairs as soon as possible.  If possible, I will let you know a couple of days in advance of our crew planning to come, but if you agree, we may be in the position of having schedules change and have only a 24 hr or less window to let you know that  we can schedule the work.
Best Regards,

Thank you,

Respondent Information: [redacted] Spartan Paving & Concrete [redacted] Road [redacted], SC 29334...

Response to Complaint:  ID [redacted]   Spartan Concrete fulfilled the specifications of our contract with Mr. [redacted] for concrete installation. Mr. [redacted] was at his residence/job site on the day grading was in progress. I had discussed in phone conversation with Mr. [redacted] that once grading began, work would continue on to completion.   A Spartan Concrete representative met with Mr. [redacted] a couple of days after the work at his residence was completed.  At that meeting Mr. [redacted] expressed that his main concerns were what he regarded as (1) lack of communication about the work schedule and (2) his loss of  6 hrs time/wages when he left work to come to the job site. The Spartan Concrete representative asked Mr. [redacted] what amount of compensation he felt was appropriate for any miscommunication and time/wages lost.   Mr. [redacted] agreed to a $200 reduction in the amount due as his final payment for the concrete installation.  Mr. [redacted] wrote checks at that time to cover the remaining balance minus the $200 discount and shook hands with the Spartan Concrete representative, With regard to cracks that may develop in concrete, Spartan Concrete does not “guarantee” that stress cracks won’t occur.  Mr. [redacted] received an attachment on concrete to this effect when he received our estimate.   Regards, [redacted], Owner Spartan Paving May 12, 2015

The check was received as promised and we have deposited in in our bank account.
As we discussed, you may mark the complaint as "resolved."
Thank you for all your help in this matter. [redacted]

Review: I have resided at my residence for 25 years. I live in a rural area where propane is commonly used. I have used AAA Propane for many years without incident.Recently I smelled propane gas after a delivery of gas. I phoned the after hours number and reported the smell. The owner yelled at me that he cannot send anyone to check it out that it would cost him $250.00. I was told to turn off everything and someone would be out the next day. I was upset because I had no hot water to shower with and prepare for my work day. However, later that evening an employee arrived at my property. The owner never called back and reported that he changed him mind about sending someone over. The employee had a solution he sprayed over the tops of the tanks and reported to me; " NO LEAKS".The employee said all was "good". I asked him please do NOT turn on the one tank I was nervous about because I could still smell gas. The employee started up the second tank, turned my water heater back on and left. The next morning at 6:00am I phoned AAA and left a message that I didn't understand why the tanks were low after they were recently filled. I NEVER received a phone call back to explain what was happening.A few weeks later I arrived home after work and AAA had made a delivery of gas. I again could smell gas! I was afraid to call to complain due to the way I was treated over the phone. I slept with windows open. The next day I arrived home the house reeked of gas. I called AAA Propane and was yelled at again. He said; I am in the business of making money not helping people! I was told to turn everything off and someone would come Fri. it was Tuesday! I looked at the tanks, one tank's lower section was covered in a white ice material and a puddle of ice chunks was beside the tank. Again, no call and a employee showed up unhooked the leaking tank/reset the system and left. 3 days later AAA called and refused to service me!I was put in a highly dangerous situation and then left high and dry! Horrible, terrible companyDesired Settlement: This could have been a DISATER!!! AAA Propane claims the tanks are mine, I can't prove otherwise but disagree. The point I want to make is I believe that the AAA Propane should inspect the tanks routinely whether there theirs or not!!! The leaky tank was not my fault and I complained only to be yelled at and treated horribly.I would appreciate a refund of the gas. I want others to be made aware of this potentially dangerous company. Isn't it here responsibility to check the tanks they fill.
