Don't Call Me and I Won't Call You
Needless to say I was disappointed when, early in the afternoon on June 18, I got the report from Heil Brothers saying that my riding mower, which I had in for repair, wouldn't start because the engine was blown out They would check and see about getting me a new engine and call me back they said HAVING NOT HEARD BACK FROM THEM, I called on June and was told they could get me a new engine for about $but I didn't have to decide right away On June 23rd I called Heil to say I was still deciding whether or not to repair the machine and asked if the $included pidelivery, taxes, shop fees etc and also whether the condition of the rest of the mower warranted putting that much money into it "We can do the whole thing for under $1000, but I don't remember the condition of the mower I'll have somebody check it out and call you back", they said HAVING NOT HEARD BACK FROM THEM, I called on June 25th only to be told, "It's finished and ready to go, $978." They had done a $repair job without my authorization and without calling me back with the critical information about the condition of the rest of the mower! "You said you'd call me back!" "Well the rest of the machine is in good shape and I thought you approved the repair." "You said you'd call me back." "Sorry, I guess it was a misunderstanding What do you want to do?" "What choice do I have?" No suggestions
I went ahead and accepted the repair and they delivered it to me the June When it arrived I said "Ok let's start it up and make sure it runs." Turned the key to start it eight times It started six of themJust clicked the other two The delivery man had an explanation for the two clicks, but I didn't understand it Accepted the machine anyway and payed the $ Called Heil right away to tell them about the clicking and that I was hoping for the best but wanted them to know it came off the truck with that problem "Don't worry, if you have any more trouble with it we'll send someone out." I also, mentioned that the little metal bracket that props open the discharge shoot for the bagging attachment was missing from the cup holder where I kept it "I'll check in the shop and call you back." That was June HAVING NOT HEARD BACK FROM THEM by August I thought I'd write this review Fortunately the engine is still working but it is difficult holding the discharge shoot open with one hand while trying to install the bagging attachment with the other twoStill waiting for a call back about my metal bracket
Took my Snapper Pro wheel in to be replacedThey told me it just needed a tube After cutting of the valve stem they decided it was a tubeless tire Now I have a damaged wheel that I still need to replace and I have lost days use of my mower The owner would not accept responsibility and out right lied several times during our conversation Will never return!
