We were sorry to hear that Ms. [redacted] was unhappy with the experience that she received.  It's unfortunate that she was unable to stay the entire time while the work was done to see what it had entailed.  Before she left she asked the technicians how it was going and they told her...

that the job was challenging. As for the comment from the technician regarding the quote, a quote for just augering a toilet is $80, which usually takes 5 to 10 minutes. He wanted to be sure that she knew this was not your typical job.  The 2 technicians were at her house for roughly an hour and half.  The water not being turned back on was an oversight as well as the spot that was missed on her wall.  However, water had been dumped down the toilet to ensure that was open and draining.   The instructions that she gave the technicians before she left was to leave the invoice on the end table on top of the magazines besides the front door and to close the door behind them, which is what they did.  When they left the door was closed.  She did not ask them to lock it.  Ms. [redacted] did not ask to be called or they would  have called her.  John thought she had a concern and tried to help resolve it.  We do not feel that Ms. [redacted] should receive the service for free.

I am rejecting this response because:
I reject their response: Even as I sat there watching the plumbers go back and forth, in and out of the house, they were not telling me what was happening. The only comment was that it was going to be more than a quote if they quoted me. (which they did not). So me being at the house at the time would not have helped me know what the job was going to entail. There was no additional quote given to me. I did ask for that. When the plumber said "I hope you didn't get a quote because this is going to be more" My response was "what do you mean?" And he continued upstairs and did not respond to me. As a matter of fact, when I went up the stairs to check on the situation.. my toilet was at the top of the stairs. I did not know they were going to have to remove the toilet to run the snake. Keep in mind this was all done within a few mins (maybe 10 mins). They had the toilet removed and at the top of the stairs and had the snake already carried in and down the pipe.  For them to have the toilet removed that quick and to have the snake run in a long way according to the younger plumber before I left.. and for them to have no obstacles and no clogs.. a charge of $225 is outrageous. I could have had any other plumber out for a lot less.  I do not believe I should have to pay this rate. I am willing to pay $80 because this was a normal job. There was nothing challenging about this.. as I believe they are highly skilled in taking a toilet off the pipe... or they should be. There is no reason they should have been at my house for an hour and a half, that is uncalled for for what was done. Toilet was removed, snake run, nothing found and toilet put back on. There was no time taken to clean the areas that they were in, there was no time taken to have to remove any clogs. Common sense would have had them actually lock the door behind them. Common sense would have also had them call me to let me know what they had found.  John when I called on the phone did NOT feel that I had a concern and did NOT try to help resolve the concern. It is exactly as stated in the first information that I submitted. He was extremely rude and told me it was my fault I had to leave.
