*** [redacted] Hello [redacted] ***, Please see attached a rebuttal letter with a desired resolution proposalRespectfully, [redacted] To Whom It May Concern:In response to a letter written by Matt F [redacted] of [redacted] (AAMCO) Iwould like to highlight the premise of the initial complaintThe primary issue, multiple replacement transmissions that each carried a 3-year/50,mile warranty, yet NOT ONE of these transmissions operated properly long enough to fulfill manufacturer/automotive repair shop guaranteeSecondary to premature failure of replacement transmissions aforementioned, is the issue of an automotive repair business denying any responsibility by claiming that they are “the middle man” when the repair contract is between them ( [redacted] ) and the customer, rather than the customer and the [redacted] elected third party vendorDoes it not seem problematic that replacement transmissions each functioned properly for FAR LESS than the year or 50,mile warranty for which they were guaranteed?Transmission #– FAILED at ~ 6,miles (lasting less than months)Transmission #– FAILED at ~39,miles (lasting less than months)Transmission #– Reported problems at less than 5,miles after replacement, vehicle issue was assessed by [redacted] who chose to take no corrective action at that time, resulting in transmission #that FAILED at ~12,miles after being replaced (lasting less than months after replacement).Total: replacement transmissions within years and total combined mileage of 58,(average is less than 19,miles and less than months per replacement transmission)As for the statement “one could make the argument this vehicle was subjected to abuse above and beyond wear and tear” as made by MrMatt F [redacted] , I would simply point to the number of highway miles accrued through the given time periods, as I routinely log over miles on I-weeklyPerhaps this is “above and beyond wear and tear” but, I would also point out that the original transmission in this vehicle functioned properly for nearly 100,miles (~92,000) driven under the same conditions for more than years without issueOne could make the argument that the replacement transmissions are either not built to original manufacturer specifications or that they are of poor quality and would necessitate more frequent replacement for failureIn this instance, the latter seems to be a logical conclusionFurthermore, it seems that I am not the only customer who has experienced multiple replacement transmission failuresAccording to reviews on ***! there hasbeen at least one other customer that has experienced or more replacement transmission failures for which there is no published resolution to dateIn fact, more than 50% of the reviews on this public forum have statements regarding poor quality replacement transmissions and/or issues with management denying responsibility for their role in automotive parts/repairs performed by their automotive shopI have attached screen shots of the reviews from ***! below as referenceWith regard to AAMCO corporate office involvement as stated by MrF [redacted] , I havenot received a single phone call from any representative either at *** [redacted] (AAMCO- [redacted] ) or at AAMCO corporate in any capacity regarding this issue or otherwiseAlthough MrF [redacted] did offer free labor to replace my transmission for a 4th time, and recommended a transmission made by ETE that carries a year/100,mile warranty (one could argue that this is a better quality replacement unit), it was NOT without further cost to meAt this point, the only acceptable resolution is either a complete refund of the original purchase price of the transmission replacement and labor costs ($2619.00) or cost coverage by [redacted] for a replacement transmission supplied andinstalled by a certified General Motors dealership of my choosingUnfortunately, I have lost faith in the ability of this particular shop to adequately repair my transmission, and, sadly, according to ***! this is not an uncommon theme or feeling.Of the current reviews posted on ***! There are reviews that all share a common theme regarding the quality of workmanship/parts supplied by Mason Roxborough, additionally, some speak to the candor of the management and their approach to customer service

I have had the opportunity to review the complaint submitted to your organization by *** *** on March As stated *** *** transmission was replaced several times for an internal failureAny and all repairs were covered by the year/50,mile warranty which was included
with the original transmission purchase (3/4/13, miles)Warranty coverage is provided by the manufacturer/supplier of the transmission unit, and is facilitated through a repair shopThis particular transmission was purchased from Global Powertrain Systems (GPS) out of *** **GPS has a close working relationship with Aamco on a corporate levelIt is at the sole discretion of the manufacturer to accept or decline any warranty repairs, the repair shop does not make any decisions whatsoever concerning warranty coverageWe are the middle man in the process so to speak, we diagnose the issue as described by the customer and forward that information to the manufacturer, who in turn decides how to proceed with a warranty repairUpon completion of warranty repairs, a claim must be submitted to the manufacturer who then pays us for performing the repairsIn this particular case, *** *** brought his vehicle to our location January 19, for a transmission concernUnfortunately, the mileage of his vehicle greatly exceeded his warranty coverage, and the manufacturer denied a warranty claimAt the time, the vehicle's odometer read 150,miles almost 9,miles over the warranty's 50,mile coverageIn an attempt to help my customerI offered to install a replacement unit for him free of labor charge, if he would agree to pay for partsI considered that offer to be generous, and is greatly above and beyond any responsibility we had in this matter*** *** statement that I had told him that the 4Tunit supplied to him was common to failure was slightly misguidedWhile I agreed that we replace a number of these units per year, I was not stating that it was the replacement 4Tunits that failI offered a suggestion of an upgraded unit from an alternate source merely because his particular vehicle is a high performance, Vmodel which would naturally be harder on a transmissionIn fact, this particular customer's vehicle is the only multiple failure 4Tunit we have dealt with in my years as manager of this facilityOne could make the argument this vehicle was subjected to abuse above and beyond wear and tearI feel that the shop owner and myself have done our part to help this customer, and am disappointed there is not more that can be doneI have endured harassing phone calls from attorneys regarding this matter, and each and every time I have attempted to explain the situationThe final decision lies with the manufacturer, and if they deny a warranty claim my hands are tiedI even provided the customer and his legal representatives with a customer service rep at the corporate office who was handling this matterStill, this customer insists that we are responsible to pay for his repairs, even though his warranty has been exceeded by 8,milesAamco's Corporate office (###-###-####/*** ***) had been communicating with this customer and with GPS, although I have heard nothing to date from either side concerning a possible resolutionThis matter is completely out of my handsI can be reached during business hours Monday - Friday to discuss further if needed, although as far as we are concerned this matter is closed.Sincerely,
Matt F*, Manager

Hello [redacted],
Please see attached a rebuttal letter with a desired resolution proposal.
Respectfully,

To Whom It May Concern:In response to a letter written by Matt F[redacted] of [redacted] (AAMCO) Iwould like to highlight the premise of the initial complaint. The primary issue, multiple replacement transmissions that each carried a 3-year/50,000 mile warranty, yet NOT ONE of these transmissions operated properly long enough to fulfill manufacturer/automotive repair shop guarantee. Secondary to premature failure of replacement transmissions aforementioned, is the issue of an automotive repair business denying any responsibility by claiming that they are “the middle man” when the repair contract is between them ([redacted]) and the customer, rather than the customer and the [redacted] elected third party vendor. Does it not seem problematic that 3 replacement transmissions each functioned properly for FAR LESS than the 3 year or 50,000 mile warranty for which they were guaranteed?Transmission #1 – FAILED at ~ 6,900 miles (lasting less than 3 months)Transmission #2 – FAILED at ~39,800 miles (lasting less than 15 months)Transmission #3 – Reported problems at less than 5,000 miles after replacement, vehicle issue was assessed by [redacted] who chose to take no corrective action at that time, resulting in transmission #3 that FAILED at ~12,400 miles after being replaced (lasting less than 5 months after replacement).Total: 3 replacement transmissions within 2 years and total combined mileage of 58,964 (average is less than 19,700 miles and less than 8 months per replacement transmission)As for the statement “one could make the argument this vehicle was subjected to abuse above and beyond normal wear and tear” as made by Mr. Matt F[redacted], I would simply point to the number of highway miles accrued through the given time periods, as I routinely log over 500 miles on I-95 weekly. Perhaps this is “above and beyond normal wear and tear” but, I would also point out that the original transmission in this vehicle functioned properly for nearly 100,000 miles (~92,000) driven under the same conditions for more than 3 years without issue. One could make the argument that the replacement transmissions are either not built to original manufacturer specifications or that they are of poor quality and would necessitate more frequent replacement for failure. In this instance, the latter seems to be a logical conclusion. Furthermore, it seems that I am not the only customer who has experienced multiple replacement transmission failures. According to reviews on [redacted]! there hasbeen at least one other customer that has experienced 3 or more replacement transmission failures for which there is no published resolution to date. In fact, more than 50% of the reviews on this public forum have statements regarding poor quality replacement transmissions and/or issues with management denying responsibility for their role in automotive parts/repairs performed by their automotive shop. I have attached screen shots of the reviews from [redacted]! below as reference. With regard to AAMCO corporate office involvement as stated by Mr. F[redacted], I havenot received a single phone call from any representative either at [redacted]
[redacted] (AAMCO-[redacted]) or at AAMCO corporate in any capacity regarding this issue or otherwise. Although Mr. F[redacted] did offer free labor to replace my transmission for a 4th time, and recommended a transmission made by ETE that carries a 3 year/100,000 mile warranty (one could argue that this is a better quality replacement unit), it was NOT without further cost to me. At this point, the only acceptable resolution is either a complete refund of the original purchase price of the transmission replacement and labor costs ($2619.00) or cost coverage by [redacted] for a replacement transmission supplied andinstalled by a certified General Motors dealership of my choosing. Unfortunately, I have lost faith in the ability of this particular shop to adequately repair my transmission, and, sadly, according to [redacted]! this is not an uncommon theme or feeling.Of the 6 current reviews posted on [redacted]! There are 4 reviews that all share a common theme regarding the quality of workmanship/parts supplied by Mason Roxborough, additionally, some speak to the candor of the management and their approach to customer service.

To whom it may concern please read the attatched letter for the responce to case number #[redacted].
thank you
To whom it may concern:Please refer to the previous correspondence at the very end of this letter below dated March, 17 2015 addressing where we stand on the matter in question. When a transmission is installed and sold it comes with a 3 year/ 50,000 warranty. The warranty does not restart if the transmission is replaced under warranty. If that was the case, the transmission would have been replaced free of charge under the warranty. Unfortunately, [redacted] was almost 9,000 miles over warranty. Therefore, we cannot issue another transmission free of charge. In response to the reviews that [redacted] shared in his complaint, it is quite unfair for our small business to show the Revdex.com a hand-picked amount of negative reviews on from the [redacted]s website, as we have many more positivereviews than negative reviews. Therefore, we have taken to liberty to illustrate below all the reviews posted on the [redacted]s site, including links where you can access these via the web. If the AAMCO of [redacted], LLC is going to be judged on the online reviews posted on this site, then the evaluation of our reviews should be inclusive of all the reviews posted, not just the several that [redacted] has provided to you. Please see below for a list of all the online reviews along with the corresponding links for AAMCO of [redacted].Please do not hesitate to contact me via email or phone if you have any additional questions or comments regarding the transaction between [redacted] and the AAMCO of [redacted], LLC. Kind Regards, Gregory M[redacted]Owner/Dealer
