I went to AAMCO to fix a switch in the transmission and was told the relay switch in the transmission was defaulted and need repairingAAMCO representative told me the entire transmission was defaulted and not just the switchI gave them authority to repair the transmission and the switchI paid $service, $for transmission Once the car was ready, I picked up the car and drove the same day approximately miles and it would not startI had it towed back to AAMCOAAMCO rechecked the transmission to determine the problemThen, I was told the starter alternator and battery needed to be replaced because the starter alternator was drawing juice from the batteryI was told it was fixed againI drove again and car stopped running and had it towed again back to AAMOCOThis time, AAMOCO charged me $and claimed the problem is fixedEvery time, I bring my car back for a service that is supposed to be fixed, I keep paying for a problem that I feel should not continue to ha
The individual who filed the complaint ( *** *** of ** *** *** *** *** ** ) first contacted my AAMCO Center via phone on the afternoon of Wednesday - October *** explained to me that he had been experiencing performance issues with the transmission ( Late and Rough
Engagement & a "Loud Knock" When Decelerating ) and also that the vehicle interface had flashed T-R-A-N-S-M-I-S-S-I-O-N ( typically indicating some type of malfunction within the system ) on multiple occasions*** came to me with the clear intent to repair solely the transmission as that was his primary concern with the vehicleHe did briefly explain to me that the vehicle was recently at a repair facility to have the Starter Motor replaced, *** *** was adamant in expressing that any further repairs would need to be conducted at a later time. With the customer's focus in mind, we asked that *** *** bring his vehicle into us as soon as possible so that we could perform our free diagnostic serviceThis service is used to determine what repairs/ if any are necessaryWhen *** *** brought the vehicle into me the following afternoon (Thursday - October *** ) it was in worse condition than he had led me to believe during our conversationAt this time the vehicle did not start with the key*** *** directed me under the hood of the vehicle and explained to me his method of starting the engineAt a previous repair facility ( after not properly diagnosing the issue ) a "mechanic" ran a loose copper wire directly from the battery terminal to the Starter Motor relay wiring; essentially " hot - wiring " the system to start(On any electrical system and unstable/inconsistent power supply is only "fail-safed" by a fuse - which in this case had been bypassed leaving the electrical system vulnerable to power surges or any electrical anomaly which would have otherwise been regulated.) For the customer's safety we did repair the circuit interruption that had been ( for lack of a better word ) butchered previous to arriving at our center It is our firm position that we clearly and accurately addressed *** ***'s needs as he requested we address solely the transmission failure at the time of initial contact*** *** made it quite clear he would have any other concerns taken care of by a repair facility that was " less expensive "Attached is a copy or *** ***'s Repair Order ( "** ***" ) in which he is made clearly aware that the vehicle was in need of further repair and recommended he refer to his general service mechanic.
