a  discounted transmission flush for $99.95.[redacted] called the customer and told him that in order to make sure we found the real reason for the radiator leak he had to perform a coolant pressure test. This test is performed in order to pinpoint exactly which areas of the radiator cooling system might require attention (eg, old hose leaking or clamps too rusted , etc. etc.). [redacted] told the customer that as we were flushing the transmission systemit would be ideal to do this test to make sure no issues between the radiator and the transmission would show up. YES he asked for authorization and got it from the customer and based on this pressure test he came back with the final estimate. The estimate to repair the radiator cooling system included an original Ford equipment radiator plus a lower hose, an upper hose, 4 new clamps, replacement coolant fluid, labor to install, shop supplies and last but not least a Software update that Ford Motor Company recommended via a TSB= Technical Service Bulletin and which we became aware had to be done when checking with the ALLDATA technical fileswhich we customarily use on-line to make sure our jobs are thorough and complete. The customer was made aware of all these details and he immediately told us he would pick up the vehicle. Unbeknown to us it turns out the previous chops he visited asking for quote on the radiator issue quoted him a secondary source Radiator (not an OEM equipment =Original Equipment Manufactured) plus the fluid. No hoses or clamps or software updates were included. Importantly, the customer was made aware, AAMCO is a National Franchise and our work comes with a National Warrantee in any of our 700 shops. That peace of mind comes together with a complete professional job which this customer chose to ignore. The customer's choice of words is unfortunate as no scam is involved in this transaction. I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

Review: Aamco did a some maintenance work on my car. While it was there I asked them for a estimate on putting a new radiator in my car, they said they would look at it. They called me later and tole me the job would cost over 1000.00 which was 50% more then two other quotes I had so I said no, don't do the work. When I picked up the car and went to pay the bill they charged me 50.00 to look at the radiator . At no time did anyone say there would be a charge for the estimate. If I knew that I would not have had them look at it besides they were too high on price.Desired Settlement: I would like my money back and warn others of this scam.
