AAMCO Transmissions Lake Havasu Reviews (5)

It is hard for me to believe that the transmission would fail in a one month time frame. I was not informed that the pan was removed at the Lake Havasu Store. At a minimum, I feel like a $129 refund is due The current franchise owner did state that he was the new owner and was not responsible for the previous owner. It is still AMMCO and I expect better.

I am sorry Mr. [redacted] is upset about his transmission repair.  We rebuilt the unit in December of 2013 and he returned it in September 2014 for a leak check.  We have had great success with rebuilding this type of transmission, that is why I gave him an extended warranty at no cost. ...

Mr [redacted] is correct the ECM (computer) controls a lot of commands given to the transmission. We did not work on the ECM.  I do apologize to him and his family for their inconvenience.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

I was not given the opportunity to view the "resolution" before I accepted it. Please recind my acceptance of it. The business claims they've had "great success" rebuilding these transmissions, and that simply was not what happened with ours. They knew the transmission wasn't right when it left their shop, and never made it right. If something else needed to be done to the transmission, they should've done it. They do slip-shod work there, and it needs to change.

Regards,

Mr. [redacted] brought in his 2006 Jeep Wrangler for a transmission service; a routine service for any AAMCO location. This service includes pulling the pan and inspecting for debris (metal sparkle), if any sparkle is present we show the customer and advise accordingly. Visible metal shavings...

indicates an internal transmission issue. At the time of our inspection, there was no indication of transmission breakdown, if so, we would have recommended further inspection.  This $129.00 transmission service could have turned into a bigger job for us. Sparkle in a transmission pan would not go unnoticed. Also, I spoke with the manager from the AAMCO in Washington who agreed that the mechanical failure during this customer's trip home. This AAMCO in Washington explained, on our behalf to the customer, that if we had noticed any indication of a failure we would have informed him. I too, spoke to Mr. [redacted] and provided my assessment. I tried my best to offer a reasonable, acceptable explanation of what happened, and that's all I can do. I stand behind my technicians. My transmission expert has over 13 years of experience rebuilding transmissions and our shop has maintained an A+ rating with the Revdex.com for over 5 years. We do not feel this customer is due any refund. Chris M[redacted]indepent owner/operator

Review: I have an issue with a disservice done and probably continuing to be done by Aamco in [redacted], Az.

We paid them nearly $2500 to rebuild our transmission a year and a half ago, they gave us a 2 yr, 24,000 mile warranty. It was NEVER right though, and we took it back SIX TIMES and it still wasn't right. We put 39,000 on that rebuild and it failed again.

I have a cousin in TX who has owned a transmission repair shop for 25 yrs, who tells me that they should have never rebuilt that transmission, it requires too many updates, as it is controlled by the vehicles computer.

We are having a Jasper remanufactured unit installed this time, and what Aamco should have recommended back then.Desired Settlement: I know we have no recourse, but PLEASE keep others from this rip of!
