Complaint: ***I reviewed the response from Dominic C*** with the company please see my rebuttal along with documents attached that led up to my initial complaint and issue with this companyThis company has many previous complaints for doing the same thing to other customers as they did to me such as: 1)Holding vehicles hostage issuing a lien of payment exceeding initial estimates for unauthorized services threatening to sell vehicle at their auction2) failure to honor warranties 3) Communicating threats, negligence, fraud, bait & switch practices 4) No written estimates in full details givenThe Dept of Justice Attorney Generals office never represented me in this case they tried to help getting a resolution since I was being threatened by this company and they weren't responding back after they tried to put my vehicle up for auction after days from getting a generic estimate after they refused to honor the warranty for my transmissionI hadn't heard anything since the Jan 22,rebuttal they sent Aamco and I was instructed to not contact company directly and it wasn't until April 15,that I heard back from Sally O*** and to contact Aamco to arrange picking up my propertyI have tried to contact them and got no response until this complaint they reaponded toMr C*** claims the no longer have my property and they disposed of it on Jan15,however his attached email states on Jan 26,to Sally O*** saying pick up my parts and sign a release of liability and had I got this sooner than April and Mr C*** responded back to my emails and messages we wouldn't be here now in Aug trying to resolveI just want my property that they still have and be done with this company and their threats
thank you*** ***

In response to [redacted]s complaint. These are the facts.  #1 Ms [redacted] authorized the inspection of her transmission after vehical was towed into our center. # 2 There was no warranty to honor, as this vehical never was worked on at this center or our center in NEWPORT. Vehical was owned by wife of previous employee. #3 We have never held veh hostage, ms [redacted] was contacted many times (which are documented). In fact she left message on our answering service requesting full est which was faxed to her. We attempted to contact her at phone # she left requesting a decision on repairs. She never responded. I filed a lein on vehical to get paid for the teardown and inspection of her transmission. At the point she decided to remove vehical after  hours from our shop. At that point she became responsiable for her property.  After she wrote to Attorney General. I had Dominic  respond and advise her it was not worth the time to deal with her and I waived her charges and Told her to Pick up her parts, or they would be disposed  of. No one told her not to contact us on getting her parts back.   Ms [redacted] has never left any messages or e mails . As far as I'm concerned this matter is closed. If Ms [redacted] thinks she has a legal claim she is more than welcome to proceed.  As far as here claim that this shop has numerous complaints she is mistaken. Poss she is looking at some website that includes all 800 aamco centers.

After reviewing the letter written to you from [redacted] I have attached former correspondence. The...

Department of justice who had been representing her in this case (in December and January) had asked to be included in this response as they never told her to wait until July to contact us for parts, as they knew and was explained in the public record we agreed to give her the parts in January, and she could get them we just didn’t want to continue going back and forth as we are a busy shop worth outstanding reviews. We heard nothing and as said the parts were disposed of. As known in any automotive facility anything left for over 30 days will be disposed of and Mrs. O[redacted] at the department of justice thought that she had this case closed. We can elaborate on the entire story but your concern is the parts. Aamco is not liable in any way for these parts, as the vehicle was taken after hours without authorization by her and could not inventory. The department of justice told her to pick up the parts, it is not our responsibility to keep these parts for almost a year. The very last paragraph in this e mail correspondence you will see she had till Jan 15 2016 to pick up her parts or they would be considered abandoned. If her lawyer wants to contact us we would be glad to talk to them, but we don’t understand how a letter from the department of justice doesn’t explain this to her it was clear and concise.  Any other information or correspondence please feel free to contact me. Thank you. And as I said the department of justice wants to be included in all the current correspondence.
