Review: I took my vehicle to be serviced for the 3rd time (2nd time under aamco warranty) on July 23rd. I was informed it would be about a week and a half before they could look at my car and that was fine but then a week later they call me and tell me it's now going to be closer to two weeks and suggest I take it to another branch that is located far away from me and I refused. After 3 weeks and 1 day of not hearing anything I call to check the status and they inform me it will be another week until they can even look at the car. I want to file a formal complaint against aamco corporation. They are unwilling to help their customers. I paid over 2,600.00 and have unsatisfactory work to where my vehicle has let me down twice since it's been repaired. I picked up my car after the first service performed by Aamco in Greensburg at the end of April and had to take it back because the transmission failed after one month of use. It was repaired again and I picked it up and was unsatisfied with how it ran upon pickup but the technician and owner insured me it would work itself out and a month later yet again it is failing and needs repaired. This is absolutely ridiculous. This company is supposed to be transmission "specialists" but I have had to have mine service twice now since the initial repair? this is unacceptable! I will add that [redacted] the owner of the aamco in Greensburg was wonderful to deal with he always made me feel like he would help me in any way possible but overall this experience has been a nightmare and I have been without a car for months now due to the fault of aamco!Desired Settlement: I would like a partial refund for the labor totaling 1305.00 because this has inconvenienced me more than once and the time frame I am having to wait and be without a functioning car is unacceptable.

Review: Had a transmission put in in February said it would only take 3 or 4 days had it for 10 was having a check engine light come on took it to a repair shop only to fine out that the transmission was bad again at first they didn't want to help me get it fixed decided that they would give me money back on parts went to get money back for parts they only wanted to give me back small amount of what I paid them for parts a 378.00 converter they wanted to give me117.00 I paid them over2400.00 and then had to pay another garage 1200.00 to redo what I already paid them to do I had 2 other parts also go badDesired Settlement: Give me what I paid them for the parts

Review: I brought my truck into AAMCO on January 11, 2013 to replace a torque converter. AAMCO stated that they also needed to replace the transmission due to fluid from the torque converter tainting the transmission. I reluctantly agreed. When I received my truck back I immediately noticed that the transmission now slipped when shifting from 2nd to 3rd under low torque. Over the next year I brought my truck back to AAMCO at least 8 times to rectify the problem since it was still under warranty through AAMCO. On 4-23-13 I dropped the truck off for 2 days and when picking up they stated that they rotated my tires, fixing the slipping problem. I dropped the truck off on 1-17-14 and picked it up the evening of 1-22-14. The next morning noticed a puddle of power steering fluid in my garage, and the transmission still slipped. I called AAMCO and they agreed to pay for a rental while they put in a new (rebuilt) transmission and new (rebuilt) torque converter. I dropped the truck off again on 2-4-14 and it wasn't done until 2-14-14. Rather than putting in a new rebuilt transmission AAMCO started that the specs were OK so they didn't change anything. When starting the truck in AAMCO's parking lot the starter was making a grinding noise. After driving the truck 3 miles to my house I realized the transmission still was slipping. I took the truck to a 3rd party garage and they confirmed the starter was shot and there were 2 lines completely broke from the power steering rack. I no longer wish to let AAMCO touch my truck but feel I deserve a refund. They have done an incomplete job since the transmission is slipping, and they are unable or unwilling to fix the transmission satisfactory. The current state of the truck causes a hazard when driving.Desired Settlement: $2272.77 - Total cost of transmission and torque converter on January 11, 13. I wish to receive this entire amount back.$799.71 - Cost to have power steering and starter fixed on 2-20-14. Since there isn't direct evidence of AAMCO causing these damages, I am not pursuing settlement for these charges.Total refund: $2,272.77

Response:

We rebuilt this customers transmission with a 12 month 12000 mile warranty on January 15, 2013. He returned on 2/25/2013 stating that he thought that the transmission was slipping, we performed a complete diagnostic service and found no malfunction with the transmission. On July 10, 2013 the customer returned again and insisted that there was a problem with his transmission. Our mechanic test drove the vehicle and found no problem so we asked the customer to drive the vehicle with our mechanic and show him the problem that he was experiencing. The customer was able to induce a shifting problem by the way he accelerated and decelerated through certain traffic patterns. In an effort to accommodate the customer we changed the valve body on the transmission and rechecked the total operation of the transmission to ensure that it was working properly. The customer returned again on 10/11/2013 and insisted that there was still a problem with the transmission. We again performed a complete diagnostic service. there was no evidence of a transmission malfunction. the fluid was clean and red, there were no codes being set and the shift points were perfect. But again the customer insisted that there was a problem so we removed the transmission from the vehicle and examined every part for wear or damage and found none.
