I am rejecting this response because:It took almost weeks to have my car repaired I wish these notorious liars would speak the truth,I called numerous times this was after they had gotten the $I had to let them know my car is my lifeline as I only had car and I need my car to get around as I cannot remain stuck indefinitely having to be dependent on friends and family to get around during that period of time,I had to literally bgged these people to release my car let me take it to some where else this was how bad it got.I kinda realized that it seams like they book more jobs than they can handle and then once your car is written up and they get their deposit that is it.I get all kinds of stories I played along because I wanted my car to be released it's like I was being held hostage until the release of my car I took back the car days later as the check engine light was on and it was making some sounds underneath the car this is while I am driving the car for a while and especially when you are driving up hilly terrain it is usually kinda struggling to go uphill. This matter is not resolved as the check engine light is still on and I am having some of the same problems that they have never resolved.I am being short changed big time and this is totally unfair to me as a customer I would never refer any one to AAMCO

We can not resolve the complaint if the customer does not return the vehicle for further diagnostic

I am rejecting this response because:As I stated...I was told by Auto Assets that they would be able to figure out brake problem in a hours labor. Auto Assets kept on asking for more time without fixing anything as well as not being able to diagnose the simple issue of a brake problem. I since have had vehicle looked at by another shop which figured out problem with no diagnostic fee and has fixed issue. I wish for a complete refund...if not I have no other choice but to seek legal options. Regards

Hello -We have gathered the necessary documents to support that [redacted] approved all diagnostic time.  We have included a time lapse progression of the repairs that the steps that we have taken and communicated that status with [redacted] every step of the way.  We have noted on the...

repair order for [redacted] that the previous person working on the car had left the brakes lines to the calipers loose and they were leaking brake fluid.[redacted] has spent considerable money on the car trying to make the brakes work, but the efforts to make the brakes work have been in the incorrect area.  At this point we believe either the ABS Control Unit/Master Cylinder or the Proportioning Valve is not functioning as designed.  [redacted] asked us to stop where we were so we did.  The braking system on the Cadillac Allante is a complicated system with numerous internet discussions regarding its failure and problems. We have many additional files that we would like to include in this complaint.  In short - we have only gone as far as [redacted] approved us to proceed in troubleshooting his problem.  Clearly the car has been so someone else to have work performed to get the brakes working without success.   [redacted] approved all of the work that we performed.  We have more time in researching solutions to his car than were billed for on his repair order.  The internet is full of discussions about the complex and fragile brake system on the Allante.   [redacted]

Review: I went to this astablishment in 2011 to get a transmission for my daughters car which also including a warranty I took the car back recently because she had some problems they said they were going to honor the warranty but later changed their minds stating that it was problems outside of the transmission. The price I was quoted was $4000 which I had already paid $3200 when it was the transmission. I had the car towed to another shop just for a second opinion because I felt like I was getting the run around. The new mechanic said the transmission was NEVER replaced. So i'm livid that I spent the money on a job that was never done and they were now going to charge me again for a job that wasn't completed the 1st time.Desired Settlement: I would like for the job to be completed or a refund because now my daughter is without a car and I don't want to put any additional monies into the car so we'll have to get her another one and depending on how long this takes she may have another car by then.

Response:

The transmission was rebuilt in 2011. More than 3 years ago nad 50,000 miles ago. Her mechanic is able to gauge by sight that a transmission was not rebuilt 3 years ago? This is absurd. Her warranty was for 1 year and 12,000 miles. It is out of warranty. We are sorry but we can't be held accountable for all this mileage and time.

Response:

I am rejecting this response because: The new mechanic had the car for several days and like aamco they were able to tell that the transmission has NEVER been changed out of the car. We know it was passed the warranty but they were willing to obsorb the cost when I first took the car to them then they told me it was not the transmission. I don't feel like I can trust anything they say because I've referred people to them and they've gotten the same run around and work not completed correctly. Again, you don't want to make the mechanic mad when they have your car there's no telling what they could do. I'm not a mechanic nor am I trying to be I just want the job done the right way. I work in a customer service business and I feel like you should do the job a person pays for and honor your word I went from thinking I was paying nothing to $4000 that's what's obsurb.

Review: My vehicle a 2006 Ford Freestar transmission needed to be rebuiltI took the car to AAmaco Transmission for them to rebuild the transmission I was charged $3.000 to do the job it over 2 weeks for them to effect the repairs much to my dissatisfaction as I am still having the same problems with the check engine light on at all times and the malfunction engine light that comes every now and again. It seems to me that they have more than they can handle and have this kinda delaying tactics as if to say they are working on your vehicle, when all they do is to have your car parked on the lot and be giving you the customer the run around, they are a bunch of notorious liars.I will not believe anything at all these people tell me they have lost their credibility where I'm concerned.Desired Settlement: If they are unable to resolve the problem with my car is to reimburse me that I can take my car to another transmission company to have my car repaired

Review: I have a year warranty through aamco it's only been two months since driving the car and the transmission code came up again feb14 they took my car to fix they still have not had my car ready after weeks of assuring me it would . March 10 the owner [redacted] told me it would be read by the 11 of march then called on the 11 and came up with another excuse stating that now it's the radiator that cause my transmission to mess up he's trying to get me to pay 700 to replace it when I already payed 3500 fir the transmission they did not fix it right I need my car fixed because they gave me a warranty now they are giving me an excuse as to why the warranty wount cover it because of radiAtor. My car never overheated from radiator I feel he's geting over me to make extra money he already got shut down in [redacted] location and has relocated to north jersey several complaints have been made against him and I would appreciate if someone could help me because it's unfair I got ripped off and they did not do they're job rite whatever they did to my car is the reason why it is not mobile .Desired Settlement: 3500

Review: I have used the services of this establishment after seeing a commercial on television regarding the reliable services provided by ALL AAMCO dealers. So I took my 2003 Range Rover in to this location to have the transmission serviced. The transmission was rebuilt back in December 2011 with a 3 year 36,000 mile warranty. I paid $6,658.34 to complete the job. I should have filed a complaint back then regarding the service. I was advised that the job would take two weeks to complete. I waited an entire month with numerous calls and visits to the shop with nothing but excuses as to why the. Vehicle wasn't ready. Okay so I am back again at the same shop with the. Same vehicle almost 3 years later dealing with the same issues - the transmission needs major work again now it's costing me $3,300 to fix. So I agreed to pay.I am writing you this time because the owner and his staff have been non responsive after I have paid out the $3,300 to have the vehicle fixed. I continue to make numerous calls to the establishment about my vehicle. I was advised that the car was ready for pick up 8/8/2014. I a arrived at the shop on. 8/8/2014 to find out that the car was not ready. I was then told the car would be ready on 8/11/14 the owner would call. I didn't receive a call so at the end of day I called the car was not ready we are road testing 8/12/14 it will be ready. I called 8/12 and spoke to [redacted] an associate there who advised the car is on a road test I would receive a call in a hour. 3 hours later no phone call so I called. [redacted] advised the technician is resetting the computer codes. I still have no vehicle. I am frustrated at this point with the lack of service and the excuses. I would be ok if they would provide a realistic time frame so that I can continue to make my plans. No more excuses I need the vehicle fixed. They have my money already. Lessons learned, I will never use them again and certainly will not pay in advance.Desired Settlement: I would like the vehicle fixed and delivered as promised based on a realistic delivery time frame.

Car Repaired, Customer Picked Up, Issue Resolved.

Review: My vehicle was having transmission problem and I requested my mechanic to direct me to an expert who can fit it, he told me that AAMCO at New Brunswick in New Jersey should be able to fit the problem. I gave it to one of AAMCO personnel who informed me that they will have to carry out some inspection at cost price of $142.17 and promise to even credit the inspection fees back only if I agreed to fit the problem in their shop. I paid them the money and they told me that their report from the inspection indicated that my total bill will be $1808.22 and with my credit of $142.17, my bill will then be $1,666.05. I told them to go ahead and fit it only for AAMCO to call back again to inform me that my bills have being increase to $4,300.00 that is from $1808.22. It was crazy and I said to them to couple my transmission back and allowed me to take it somewhere else to fit. Then they came up with another surprise that I will have to pay $969.00 to remove my car from their office. They had lost my trust because of this and I had gone through more hell to meet my daily transportation need.Desired Settlement: I want them to return my transmission back to the car so I can take it somewhere else to fit.

Business

Response:

The issue is the $1800 is the base price for the transmission. Mr. [redacted] is required to give a base price. He did that and the subsequent price was the cost of hard parts for the transmission and the rear differential. The plaintiff is only required to pay the cost to remove the transmission (labor) and may take the vehicle. He has options and has not paid a red cent.
