Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: Regards, [redacted] ***i understand the wear and tear on a vehicleWhen I took in in on February of the Houston AAmco called the [redacted] Aamco and initially denied the warranty on plug wiresThe Houston AAmco called me and told me that the valve cover gaskets cause need replaced and it was leaking oilNow I’m not a mechanic but in they were suppose to have been replacedNow I don’t know but I’m almost positive that it should not have had to been replaced in just a yrsTimeAlso Since the check engine kept coming on and going offWe took in ? several different times and was told that the wrong spark plugs were indeed put inThe manager at the time told the mechanic to not worry just put in what was in stock that it would be ok, which was corrected but took several visits, then the right parts were put inThis leads me to believe that some of the work that originally was done in was not done or not done at allYes at the moment the work is being warranted but it took several phone calls from the Houston AAmco to get this doneI have put several thousands of dollars to get this right, but every time I take it, it’s always several more thousands of dollars after being assured the the fixes will solve the problem or problemsIt is not being fixed and I have lost many days of work and also many days pay becauase of this, and all I get is excuses

An investigation has been conducted, the findings are as follows;? [redacted] came into AAMCO Transmissions [redacted] ***, TX on April 27, late afternoon with a transmission concern on his Ford Explorer.? After the diagnosis was completed the manager called [redacted] with the resultsThe manager explained that the transmission had an internal failure and needed to be replaced or rebuiltHe gave [redacted] a choice; a factory remanufactured unit with a year/ 100,mile warranty for $3750, an in house rebuild with a year/ 50,mile warranty for $plus any gear train that doesn’t meet tolerance and an in house rebuild with a month/ 18,mile warranty for $plus any gear train that doesn’t meet toleranceThe manager also explained that we need authorization to remove the transmission and disassemble to determine the final costShould [redacted] choose to not move forward with the rebuild he would only have to pay $for the transmission to be reassembled and installed [redacted] authorized the removal and inspection.? The manager also told [redacted] that the average turn around time on a transmission rebuild was to daysBook time on the removing, disassemble, inspection, cleaning, reassembly and installation is hours.? The transmission was removed on April 26, and disassembledLate afternoon May 2, [redacted] phoned to decline the work and have his transmission reassembled and installedThe manager told him it would be done late afternoon May 3, and it was.? The $fee is for the hours of labors on [redacted] ’s Ford Explorer [redacted] stated that he was purchasing a used vehicle and going to have the transmission from it installed in his Ford ExplorerWe’ve installed a few used transmissions for customers and understand that it may work and it may not, depending on how well it had been maintainedThough there is nothing we can do about the $for the work done, we are willing to discount $from a transmission rebuild should the used transmission have problems.? Sincerely, [redacted] ?" General ManagerAAMCO Transmissions ?

[redacted] had his Dodge Dakota towed in to AAMCO Transmissions [redacted] ***, [redacted] on October 15, He stated that “The starter just spins out/wont go into gear/has heard a loud rattle noise in past.” The truck was diagnosed with a broken flex plate and damaged torque converter [redacted] authorized the repairs and the work was completed October 16, The work was covered by a month/ 12,mile warranty[redacted] brought the same truck back in February 20, stating that “the check engine light was on and the truck hesitates.” The truck was diagnosed needing spark plugs, wires, rotor, a coil, throttle body cleaning, valve cover gaskets, inner and outer tie rod ends and hub bearings [redacted] authorized the repairsThe truck was completed and picked up February 22, The work was covered by a month/ 12,mile warranty.AAMCO Transmissions offers several types of financingFor those with good credit we can get them 0% interest for monthsFor customers that are credit challenged the interest depends on their credit score and debt to income ratio.February 2, The AAMCO Transmissions at [redacted] TX called the AAMCO Transmissions in [redacted] The manager, ***, asked if the ignition wires were under warrantyHe was told that they are under warranty and he had them sent to them.I understand that warranty work is being done from both the [redacted] center as well as the Houston center[redacted] was never denied warranty and is being taken care of nowVehicles that are years old and over 144,miles will have wear and tear and require regular maintenance and repairs

I understand *** concernI pulled the diagnostic paperwork and parts receipts from archive and confirmed all the work was originally done.Speaking with *** at the Houston AAMCO Transmissions I think the misunderstanding is that since AAMCO Transmissions are franchise owned they do not have access to other Centers files and Timothy didn’t have his receipt at the time. However, when *** called the *** *** AAMCO Transmissions the Center manager pulled up the recordsHe told *** that it was still under warranty and sent the spark plug wires for warrantyIf the valve cover gaskets are leaking they too are under warranty and *** has a set in stock.Warranty has never been denied and will be honored
