An investigation has been conducted, the findings are as follows;? ** *** came into AAMCO Transmissions *** *** *** *** ***, TX on April 27, late afternoon with a transmission concern on his Ford Explorer.? After the diagnosis was completed the manager called **
*** with the resultsThe manager explained that the transmission had an internal failure and needed to be replaced or rebuiltHe gave ** *** a choice; a factory remanufactured unit with a year/ 100,mile warranty for $3750, an in house rebuild with a year/ 50,mile warranty for $plus any gear train that doesn’t meet tolerance and an in house rebuild with a month/ 18,mile warranty for $plus any gear train that doesn’t meet toleranceThe manager also explained that we need authorization to remove the transmission and disassemble to determine the final costShould ** *** choose to not move forward with the rebuild he would only have to pay $for the transmission to be reassembled and installed** *** authorized the removal and inspection.? The manager also told ** *** that the average turn around time on a transmission rebuild was to daysBook time on the removing, disassemble, inspection, cleaning, reassembly and installation is hours.? The transmission was removed on April 26, and disassembledLate afternoon May 2, ** *** phoned to decline the work and have his transmission reassembled and installedThe manager told him it would be done late afternoon May 3, and it was.? The $fee is for the hours of labors on ** ***’s Ford Explorer** *** stated that he was purchasing a used vehicle and going to have the transmission from it installed in his Ford ExplorerWe’ve installed a few used transmissions for customers and understand that it may work and it may not, depending on how well it had been maintainedThough there is nothing we can do about the $for the work done, we are willing to discount $from a transmission rebuild should the used transmission have problems.?
