Aaron's Towing Reviews (%countItem)

Giving this business a zero rating would be more accurate. They are crooks who take advantage of people and up charging them ridiculous costs and hold your private property hostage. Their "customer service" is the worst I have ever experienced. Hanging up on patrons is not a way to run a business. There is a reason why they are hanging up, they know they are in the wrong and do not want to take responsibility of their illegal actions. The rude and appalling woman who answers the main line stated that we can only pick up our cars from 12pm-1pm that day (Saturday). Once I arrived between that hour, there was no one at the window to release the car. There was one person that had been waiting an hour by this time and no representative was there to assist. More and more people started to come and it was almost 12:40 before the tow truck dispatcher showed up, of course with a towed car. The apartment complex where my car was taken from tried calling to get a release of my car since they didn't call Aaron's Towing, and the rude woman hung up on the apartment manager as well. I told the dispatcher this and he said "well if you want your car out now, you have to pay this amount" without any respect to the apartment complex's request, (which they will now be terminating their business with Aaron's towing company). They also charged me an "after hours" $80 fee on a Saturday when they had just towed my car less than two hours prior, that in itself is a scam. If they are so called "closed" on weekends, then they shouldn't be working on the weekends. This business needs to be investigated.

We are allowed to park outside of home momentarily at the mobile home park, but a unknown driver came to tow our truck.
We are allowed to park outside of home momentarily at the mobile home park, but an unknown masked driver with a tower came to tow our truck. While he was backing up my wife came out to tell him to stop because of the park rules she had to go in the truck bed to avoid being injured. He had a masked young male who looks like a minor working with a cell phone recording while taking my truck with my wife on it.
He ask me to give $80.00 if I did not want to take the truck having my wife in it with them.
He refused to give me any identification saying that Aaron's policy does not allow him to identify himself. Neither the young man he had video recording the scene.

Desired Outcome

I am requesting $80.00 refund,to stop the aggressiveness and dangerous practices they use and to have the drivers to identify themselves while working for security reasons. They have all my information and we do not know who they are. He took a picture of my wife and my driver's license along with my wife's debit card. He said he would write down his name on the receipt and he just signed it and said "that is my name".

Aaron's Towing Response • Jul 17, 2020

Thank you for the chance to respond.
Yes the person paid a $80.00 dollar drop fee. A driver is dispatched out to the property to tow any vehicle in violation of parking rules. This vehicle was parked in the tow zone roadway which all property signs state there is no parking in roadway.
The vehicle was already hooked up to the tow truck and lifted , when yes a lady did jump onto the back of the bed once driver was strapping the vehicle down to safely remove from roadway. On that property they are allowed a 10 min loading off loading if hazardous lights are on. This incident there was no lights on....driver was dispatched out to property which response time was longer than 10 mins. The vehicle was turned off and doors locked. the resident was parked at a stand still.
So an $80 dollar legal drop fee was offered to vehicle owner so that the vehicle will be dropped and not towed off private property where parking violation was occurring. That fee may be looked up under CVC *** vehicle code for towing.

Customer Response • Jul 20, 2020

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
The driver used the bars to hoop up the truck despite my wife's legs. I went to his windows to request him to stop using it against her and he ignored me. I touch his shoulder to request to stop hurting my wife and then he did it momentarily just to tell me that if I touch him again he would call the police.
Then my wife went to the bed and he lifted the truck with her on the trucks's bed. He said that they have a camera on the rear of the tower that I hope you can review.
He just lowered the truck to let her get down when I told him that we would give him the money and that she needed to get down the truck to go and get her debit card because he did not accept credit cards.

this company unlawfully remove my car from my cart port and they damage my car upon release.
I was getting home when I when to my cart garage and realize that I left my garage keys to unlock my garage door in the house when I when in my house this tow truck pull up and grab my car when I was coming out he step on gas and dint give me chance to explain what was going on I call owner of this place which she is also dispatch and she refuse to give me any information and she said that I was park illegally when that was not true and that I was park there more than ten minutes which I have witness is not true what she said and that I owe *** dollars to get release of the car when I was at tow place to pick up my car I notice there damages to my vehicle due to the towing and I explain to her that I will pay her the fees she is requesting but I will not sign her the paper work she is asking her to sign to get car because is clearly says that if I sign this paper I release aarons towing from any liabilities or damage to my car which I'm telling her there damage but she said either sign or your not taking the car I feel thats really unfortunately because she is taking my rights to file a complain against her even if she did damages to my car I file a incident report with the police and I will be filing a civil law suit and insure claim but this company is know for doing unfair business to the community

Desired Outcome

I want this owner to repair my car due to the damages of the towing and to better train there driver and her self with good customer service

Illegally towed vehicle, in process damaged with their negligence.
My vehicle was towed in September 2019. First of all, it was illegally towed (stolen), from a parking lot in under the hour limit. The car was locked,, engaged in park, with the emergency brake engaged. My vehicle's owner manual consists of 2.5 pages on the proper procedure to tow and not damage my vehicle. NOT ONE of these procedures were followed, and as a result, my car is damaged to the point of my very reputable insurance company claiming it a loss, IF they were able to take the claim. However, since this damage was done by NEGLIGANCE on behalf of this crooked and illegal tow company, my full coverage on my vehicle does not apply and not cover negligence on behalf of a business who stole and ruined my car. My insurance company has tried to obtain this company's insurance information, as to turn in the damage that has left me without a vehicle, and inflicted insurmountable problems for myself as a single mother, and the lives of my children. However, Aaron's towing as my insurance company stated " they continue to be evasive and not return any calls made." I also, contacted this company, asking them for their insurance information, and also stated that my insurance has left multiple messages, yet they have not returned any calls. The women stated, she hasn't received any phone calls or messages, which I know is untruthful, because the word of a very reputable insurance company prevails over a shady and con of a business doing illegal practices. In reviewing the tow laws of the State of California, I have found no less than 9 violations they are guilty of, and that is just in the first code of the towing laws. Today, I returned to where my vehicle was towed from, and saw Aaron's towing pull into the lot, preying on cars, and their owner's. Predatory towing is illegal in the state of California, but as with the other law's Aaron's Towing Inc, ignores all legal practices. My next step is to file a civil lawsuit against them, as their blatant disregard for all laws, has cost me my vehicle, income, and my children. All efforts to resolve this matter has come with rudeness, and disregard. They have a responsibility when they take possession (even illegal possession) of someone's property, and that does not include responsibility to ruin their property and their lives.

Desired Outcome

I intend and expect to be refunded all monies charged by this disgusting and illegal company. In addition, I expect my vehicle to be fixed, as it was prior to them ever laying a finger on it. In addition, I expect all monies and damages to be compensated as a result of their illegal actions and practices.

My car was damaged by the driver of the tow truck and on top of that I was still charged a fee. I contact the office and I was rudely hung up on.
On 8/8/2019 at 5:57pm, I made a quick stop to my apartment complex because I forgot my keys upstairs and when I come down I saw that a driver named *** from Aarons Towing had my car hooked up ready to be towed. He also was breaking into my car because the hand break was on. When I asked him to provide me a contract or any form of written consent that someone sent him he declined and said it was confidential. Under California Towing Laws he must provide me with the proper disclosures and/or notices. He then asked me to pay him $80 to release my car. I paid him the money and when he unhooked my car from the tow truck he damaged my vehicle's bumper (pictures can be provided) and scratched my paint. I went ahead and called Aarons Towing to file a former complaint on their employee for lack of service, illegal conduct and the damage to my car.
The representative hung up on me. I tried calling back three more times and my calls were all forwarded to a voicemail. I then called from my brother's phone and she hung up on me a second time.

Desired Outcome

Since it is obvious that this company has no intent in being responsible for their actions I demand to be reimbursed for the $80 that I paid. It's not fair and illegal that I had to pay in order to get my vehicle released and that my vehicle was damaged.

VEHICLE WAS ILLEGALLY TOWED.
MY SON AND I VISITED SCHABARUM PARK LOCATED IN ON COLIMA RD IN THE CITY OF INDUSTRY ON SUNDAY JAN 20, 2019 FOR A MORNING WALK.WE DID NOT PLAN TO BE THERE LONG SINCE WE HAD TO ATTEND CHURCH SHORTLY AFTER SO I PARKED IN THE PUENTE HILLS TOWN CENTER EAST SHOPPING CENTER RIGHT NEXT DOOR. WE PARKED AT 10:20 AM. WHEN I RETURNED AROUND 11:10, I COULD NOT FIND MY VEHICLE. I SEARCHED THE LOT AND AFTER HAVING NO LUCK I CALLED THE LOCAL SHERIFF'S DEPT. THEY MENTIONED MANY VEHICLES HAD BEEN TOWED IN THE AREA AND SUGGESTED I CALL THE TOWING COMPANY FIRST. IF THEY DID NOT HAVE MY VEHICLE SHE INSTRUCTED ME TO CALL BACK TO FILE A REPORT. I NOTICED A SECURITY GUARD IN A CORNER AND ASKED IF MY VEHICLE AND AFTER PROVIDING THE MAKE AND MODEL OF MY VEHICLE HE CONFIRMED IT HAD IN FACT BEEN TOWED. I EXPLAINED IT HAD BEEN LESS THAN ONE HOUR AND HE SIMPLY GAVE ME THE TOWING COMPANY NUMBER TO RETRIEVE MY VEHICLE.

WHILE WAITING FOR MY RIDE TO ARRIVE I NOTICED ANOTHER VEHICLE BEING TOWED USING SOME CONCERNING PRACTICES TO GET THE VEHICLE HITCHED. THEY WEDGED A DOOR OPEN AND UNLOCKED THE VEHICLE WHERE ONE OF THE TOW WORKERS WAS INSIDE THE VEHICLE FOR SOME TIME. THEY THEN HITCHED THE CAR AND AFTER ATTEMPTING TO LEAVE THEY DECIDED TO RETURN THE VEHICLE, FACED INT HE OPPOSITE DIRECTION IN WHICH IT WAS ORIGINALLY PARKED, AND LEFT. WHEN I ASKED WHY IT WAS BEING RETURNED THEY STATED IT WAS A FRONT WHEEL DRIVE VEHICLE SO THE CAR WOULDN'T MOVE. MY VEHICLE IS AN ALL WHEEL DRIVE SUBARU WRX AND IF NOT PLACED ON A FLAT BED, CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE SUSPENSION. I STATED I WAS GOING TO FILE A COMPLAINT. THEY OBVIOUSLY DID NOT HAVE A LEGAL RIGHT TO TOW MY VEHICLE SINCE IT WAS PARKED FOR LESS THAN AN HOUR AND THEY ALSO DIDN'T KNOW WHAT THEY WERE DOING IN TERMS OF GETTING THE VEHICLES PROPERLY TOWED.

Desired Outcome

I'D LIKE A REFUND OF ALL TOWING FEES WHICH CAME OUT TO A TOTAL OF $395.00 AND ALSO FOR THEIR TOWING PRACTICES TO BE INVESTIGATED.

uneccisary fees charged for providing a "dolly" and unlocking doors, along with a 1 day storage fee for 3 hours. Also broke property and refuse to fix
Vehicle was towed from private property(not complaining), and taken to *** towing on 1/31/19 at 9:30 AM. Where I was then charged $415 to retrieve it. And at least two of the charges on the bill were complete nonsense. One "dolly" fee for a dolly that was not used, and one "lockout fee" to unlock the doors, which is completely uneccisary and was not done either since my alarm never went off. Both charges were $50 each. Along with a charge of 50 more dollars for a 1 day storage fee when the vehicle was only there from 9:30AM to 1:21PM. Along with the bogus charges they bent my trailer hitch insert, and broke one of my backup lights and refuse to admit to it. They say they couldn't have broken them as they insist the vehicle was towed from the front, but refuse to show any evidence that the vehicle was towed from the front when asked to provide it.

Desired Outcome

I want to be refunded at least the $150 worth of complete nonsense charges, and would to be compensated for my trailer hitch insert and backup light.

Illegally towed my vehicle, refused to provide any information regarding the legality of the tow or a sign-off by property management.
On September 30th, 2018 just after midnight my vehicle was towed from the Pomona Islander housing complex by Aaron's towing, inc. Upon attempting to collect the vehicle, I asked to be provided with information on the citation, a signature from the property management, and all pertinent information regarding the tow. The company agent immediately refused to release the vehicle, and told me I would have to come back tomorrow during "regular" business hours and pay more fees. This is a clear attempt to charge an exorbitant impound fee ($395) and extort more money from people who's cars they have illegally towed.

Desired Outcome

I want every last dime back. They failed to provide any information legitimizing the legality of this tow in the first place.

car was towed from 24 hour spot when it was only there for a handful of hours
I was parked on baldwin park blvd in a parking lot that said I could park there for 24hrs and I came back to get my car and it had been towed, I want to know what method the towing company used to determine that my car was there for 24hrs before they towed it because it had only been there since the evening when I went to go shopping in that center. and now they want to charge me $340 to get my car back out when it hadnt been there breaking any laws yet when they towed it.

Desired Outcome

i want an explanation of why they towed my vehicle and i shouldnt have to pay the amount to get my car back from the tow yard as it was parked there legally for another 19hrs

Predatory towing with towing company spotter
On 6/11/18 I parked at the Flair Plaza parking lot. I was doing business at one of the stores. When I returned, I did not see my truck where I parked. I then spoke to the security guard for the bank directly in front of where I was parked, and then a woman in a white shirt answered saying my truck was towed. I asked why I was towed and she said because the parking lot is for customers only. I then explained that I did do business there. She said then said it was because I was gone for more than an hour, which was not true. I showed her the copy of my receipt showing the time and proving I was doing business in this lot. I tried to get her to have them bring my truck back. she then became agitated and said I can take her to court. I later went to pick up my truck from the tow yard and the woman who answered refused to release my truck because it was after 5. She then said since I want to dispute the tow she's going to charge me another $90. I was not allowed to get my truck until the following day. After retrieving my truck I went back to the same parking lot. I obtained a video of Aaron's towing spotter getting out of the tow truck and going back to her post where she flags cars to be towed the second they're out of sight. This company is scamming vehicle owners on a daily basis in many different surrounding areas. They left myself, my 11 week old son, and the mother of my child left stranded in the extreme heat with no remorse for their fault. This company should not be allowed to stay in business due to their complete and utter disregard of California laws. They tow cars in under an hour and hide then around the corner and they do not report the cars to the police department until AFTER the vehicle owner calls to ask what happened to their cars. After that they pick the cars up off the street and take it to the lot. This company is doing many unlawful tactics that prey on consumers of the lot.

Desired Outcome

I wish to be fully compensated for: - the towing expense - cost of transportation to be picked up and taken home -lost monies from not being able to go to work for 2 days for myself, $450 per day totaling $900. -Lost wages for mother of my son for 1 day totaling $80

Aaron's Towing Response • Jun 13, 2018

Aarons Towing Inc is a contracted tow company within the phesant Ridge complex in Rowland Heights. We are not owners of afflicated with the security company on site. There is a contracted parking patrol company contracted out also by phesant ridge. We are not affiliated with that uncompany other than, we get called out to tow a vehicle off the property at their request when a vehicle is in violation. The leaser of the aparment knows r & r when move in and part of that is must have parking permit displayed on windsheild at all times while parked on property. We are not the decision makers we are called out by the contracted patrol company. We do not make the property rules we help have them enforced.

on oct 2nd I parked in the parking lot of star bucks and jack in the box around 20 am , I went into the building arcoss the way . Aarons Towing tow my car due to my car was parked in a pravite lot an hour later I walked and a man handed me his business card and said I towed your car due to it was parked in a pravite area and I have video and showed me the video on his phone and handed me his business card name on buisness card is *** and said go here pick up your car with $340 dollors and you can have your car back. as I was standing there other lady was looking for her car and *** went up to her handed her business card and said your car was also towed. *** walked away and as we were standing there a man walked up to us and said " I know where he took your cars follow me ". we followed him a block over and there were are cars parked on the street next block over. As I was searching for my car my wife was on the phone calling Aarons towing and a lady she stated her name was ***. my wife told her do you have my husband car toyota camery grey *** said yes if you want to come get it cost will be $340 and I will text you our address so you can come get it. My car was never taken to the tow yard. my wife called el monte police station spoke to *** which she called Aarons tow company and said do you have a totoya camery *** denied to her they do not have my car. *** said Aaron tow company never called reported to the el monte police station they took my car. which I googled california law which states a tow company tows a car they have to call and report to the police station they towed car. please review my complaint due to this is a scam
