Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:To whom it may concern Revdex.com,
The underlying issue remains that the repairs performed by
Aatco DID NOT FIX the original problem.
1)
Mr. [redacted] did not bring the vehicle in.  Mrs. [redacted] did.
2)
Mrs. [redacted] did not state the vehicle was shifting
hard, Lance did.
3)
Mrs. And Mr. [redacted] both repeatedly told Lance
at Aatco that the car had been scanned at [redacted] in Orchard Mesa, Colorado
(Grand Junction).
4)
That check engine light had nothing to do with
the transmission-but had four listed possibilities one of which was the oil
pressure sensor.  Which sounds a lot like
oil pressure plate which turned out to be the true culprit.
5)
Aatco made no effort to diagnose a lesser
mechanical issue-less costly or labor intensive-this would be expected by any
reasonable consumer.
6)
Mr. and Mrs. [redacted] would have been very
grateful for the payment arrangements if they had not been sold parts and
services that they did not actually need!
7)
Mr. and Mrs. [redacted] were also grateful for the
help with towing-however, this does not justify pushing a $3000 repair when a
$300 repair would have sufficed.
8)
Mr. and Mrs. [redacted] have consulted with
multiple mechanics who all say that a lesser mechanical issue can make the
transmission malfunction (cause a transmission check engine light code), and
Aatco employee (maybe [redacted]) said as much to Mr. [redacted] after the car had been
towed there.
9)
Isn't it interesting that after the car is under
the warranty they now want to know what is actually wrong with the car meaning
the lesser diagnosis, the true problem?
10)
The vehicle malfunction that occurred and
instigated the need for towing was almost identical for the original problem,
the car became sluggish between 2500-3000 RPMs and the VSA light came on.   This logically means that the transmission was not the source of the original malfunction.

Conclusion:
Aatco had no intention of diagnosing anything other than transmission
failure.  They do not state that the
transmission that was pulled was faulty but that Mrs. [redacted] stated it was
shifting hard-LIE!!!  The check engine
light code in itself is not infallible; especially when Aatco had been told of
a different check engine code at [redacted]- the reasonable expectation of any
consumer would be to rule out lesser issues i.e. the solenoid “oil pressure
plate” that was the true problem, had they done so, Mr. and Mrs. [redacted] would
not be involved in this complaint.

Respectfully,
Complainant

transmission code. There were no electronic codes related to the engine at the time the vehicle was brought in. The only code it had was transmission code. I explained to Mr. [redacted] that the transmission was slipping and that it would need to be rebuilt. Mr. [redacted] expressed immediate concern with his financial position. After hearing these things we decided to help them. We told them that if they paid a percentage of the repairs at the time they picked up the vehicle, we would allow them to make payments to pay off the balance. They stated that they could only come up with $2000.00 up front. We agreed on this offer as a down payment.Mr. [redacted] Agreed to pay balance of $915.72 in payments of $200.00 a month until paid in full, first payment due in June 2015.They agreed to the offer and seemed appreciative at the time. After completing the repairs, we delivered the vehicle. Mr. [redacted] then called on 05/20/15 and stated the vehicle was having problems. We decided to help pay to have it towed in (our warranty states: we are not responsible for towing).Mrs. [redacted] stated she didn't have any money and her towing insurance wouldn't cover the full tow to our shop, so we agreed to help her out and we paid the balance of towing (thinking it was a transmission problem) in the amount of $289.00 for them since the vehicle was still having problems. Once the vehicle arrived, it was scanned and found to have an engine trouble code. We performed the additional repairs to the engine at a cost of 302.17. Again they stated they didn't have any money until June, we agreed again to let Mr. [redacted] make payments and add this extra cost to the original repair order, which they agreed again. The vehicle left here working properly and our customers seemed appreciative and satisfied.
