major job, to collect half of the amount quoted with the balance due upon completionHe paid $down, his choiceI attach a copy of my work order, you can see the list of expenses, machine work and partsThe cylinder head was cracked beyond repairIt got that hotAt that time I told him the cooling system had been badly neglectedI purchased a remanufactured cylinder head, also replaced a water pump and thermostatAfter the job was completed I flushed the entire cooling systemMy work carries a warranty of months or 12,milesThe remanufactured cylinder head has a warranty of six monthsAll remanufactured blocks and heads have a heat tab affxed to them in order to let us, as mechanics, know if the vehicle has been re-overheatedThe center of this tab melts out at degrees to determine warranty.As I recall the truck was towed in January 27, with another overheating problem, unexpectedlyI was not called or notifiedI guess he thought I could drop everything and work on his vehicleWhen he came in I had him fill out a work order and at that time I told him I would get to it as soon as I couldI did not ask for a deposit but like before he offered a deposit in the amount of $check #*** At that time I had work scheduled three weeks in advanceI enclose a copy of my work schedule for the months of February and MarchMy first chance to inspect the vehicle was February 6th at which time I told him the truck had a blown head gasket againI also told him I would try very hard to work it into my scheduleHowever, as you can see my schedule was full for the month of FebruaryI am a one man shop as all my customers knowI personally do all the work on every car that comes through my shop.I was finally able to get to his vehicle March 7, at which time I removed the cylinder head and took it to Vilas Motor Works on the 8th They inspected, repaired the head and returned it to me March 14, The next day I reassembled his truckHe picked it up on Friday March 17, He paid the balance dueI have not heard from himI am not aware of any problemsI give my customers the best service possibleI fry to save them money, I try to do the job in a timely mannerI am very conscientious in my work and give my customers more time than I charge for.RE: case #***A & B Automotive
