Dear Mr***, I am writing in response to your letter dated 4/28/16, in which a customer filed a complaint regarding a banquet deposit I would just like to clarify our policy in hopes that our company is not viewed negatively by your organization When a customer calls to reserve a date for a banquet, we tell them that they must come in a place a $non-refundable deposit to hold the date We explain that the deposit amount is available to use against the cost of the banquet on the date booked, but should they cancel the amount is non-refundable We have been in business for nearly years and this has been our policy for over years As you can imagine, there are a limited number of weekend nights, especially in the spring & summer months which are in high demand for wedding showers, bowling banquets and graduation parties Once a banquet is booked, we turn down any other requests for that date We keep the deposit as compensation for losing any potential bookings, which we did for 5/14/ I am aware that this policy is very common when booking banquet facilities Should you need any further information regarding this matter, do not hesitate to contact us Sincerely,Lynn R***vice presidentEdward's Restaurant & Lounge, Inc

reserve a date for a banquet, we tell them that they must come in a place a $100 non-refundable deposit to hold the date. We explain that the deposit amount is available to use against the cost of the banquet on the date booked, but should they cancel the amount is non-refundable. We have been in business for nearly 30 years and this has been our policy for over 25 years. As you can imagine, there are a limited number of weekend nights, especially in the spring & summer months which are in high demand for wedding showers, bowling banquets and graduation parties. Once a banquet is booked, we turn down any other requests for that date. We keep the deposit as compensation for losing any potential bookings, which we did for 5/14/16. I am aware that this policy is very common when booking banquet facilities. Should you need any further information regarding this matter, do not hesitate to contact us.
